First log, CFLs & PHarvest?!
Well guys, I've been around here soaking in all the information for quite some time. I think about three years now? I've got about 5 grows under my belt this is my 6th. I'd like to thank everyone on the board here by the way because without you guys I would never have been able to get this far.
I'm using FFOF with the FF 3 Part Nutrients. All of my strains are from bagseed, I am skeptical posting this let alone mailing seeds to my house. My lights are 7 6500K 27W Daylight and 6 3700K(I think?) Cool White Bulbs for a total of 13 bulbs and 351 watts.
All plants, minus the two in the 20oz bottles, are in day 22 of flower.
1st pic - Quick snap of flower chamber.
2nd-4th - My friend got a seed from some high quality buddies that was called "Kali Mix." It is a very resilient strain and isn't as responsive to underwatering as my other plants are. I'd be interested to see if anyone else can see any resemblances with this and another strain? I believe these two came from a clone off of the mother. 3rd Generation?
More pics uploaded very soon.

First log, CFLs & PHarvest?!
Introducing the other ladies. These were not completely mature when thrown into flower, opposed to the Kali's which already had mini buds on it.(Started alternating leaf sets about 4 days into flower)
Pic 1 - Bagseed, fat indica leaves.
Pic 2 - Bagseed, lots of sativa qualities.
Pic 3 - Solo cup, cheap walmart dirt project, nothing special.

First log, CFLs & PHarvest?!
As you can see the two in the 20oz cups in my first post are the first batch of my attempt at a perpetual harvest. (Very similar to DrBudGreenGenes grow) This is my current very ghetto very cheap mother/clone chamber. It has 2 27W Daylight CFL's on 24/0, basically a UHaul box covered in emergency blanket.
1st Pic - Outside look.
2nd Pic - Kali Mix mother, she needs a nice dose of Grow Big soon. Also, I kept a mother of the Indica and the Sativa just incase I want to keep the strain alive. We'll have to see what kind of yields these babies produce! If you look at the 20oz bottles I put them in there on the 17th, the roots are already reaching the bottom!
3rd Pic - More Kali, Indy, Sati clones waiting to root to be thrown into the mix.
Let me know what you guys think!

I like what your doing there. Looking fine for a ghetto grow, Bub!
Best of luck.

First log, CFLs & PHarvest?!
Thanks for the comments guys, I just realized I was kinda vague on the flower room. Here are some pics if anyones confused.
Pic 1 - Its a closet grow, I have a rack on the upper portion of the closet which comes in handy for suspending my lights and my ghetto reflector. :D
Pic 2 - Here is the rectangle cut in the top of the reflector so that the lights can hang easily, I was thinking about maybe putting some pc fans to exhaust the heat from the lights, but im sort of confused about how to convert the pcs fans into something that will plug in a standard outlet. (I'm definately no electrician)
Pic 3 - Heres a view of the closet when the lights are normally on. When lights are off, two blankets nailed to the top part of the closet come down, making it light tight.

First log, CFLs & PHarvest?!
Nothing really new today, I put the first sativa clone into 12/12. I need to get a better system going so I can put multiples in at once instead of one every other day. The Kali Mix for some reason is incredibly difficult to clone, the indica was ready to be potted in 6 days, whereas the Kali has been known to take over 3 weeks! Some tend to grow big stubs on the end and dont really root, but the foliage looks perfectly healthy.

Since humidity is so high, I'd keep those clones off the edge of the clone box.
Has a tendency to cause leaf distress and mold. Sorta like a drop of water that never evaporates.
Also, do you always trim-back so drastically? If so, how come?
I used to do that so my posted pictures looked better, but it slows the growth and unnecessarily stresses her.

Hmm, that makes alot of sense haha.

No, I don't normally trim back that much. For some reason I never topped the two big mamas, (I should have!!!) they are growing above the lights in the back of the chamber. I've basically been cutting them around the lights opposed to fitting the lights around them. I do this mainly just to focus the lights on the Kali Mix. It's wierd too the side buds are getting much larger whereas the colas aren't seeing as much production.
I've always been interested in the debate on whether or not trimming fan leaves so the buds recieve more light was a beneficial process. Most people say that light on buds doesn't effect production, but if that is so, why are the buds closer to the light getting bigger than even the main cola?

I did an experiment a while back. I had two clones from same sativa, (Swazi) and I didn't top 'em. On one I removed a couple of fan leaves from the main cola's branch, to allow light to lower budsites. On the other I left untouched.
On the one with the fan leaves removed, main cola slowed her growth allowing lower budsites to catch-up vertically. On the other, the main cola continued normal growth, and filled-in nicely.
Results at harvest:
(no scale in years, so don't know weights)
1. Main cola on untrimmed lady was rock hard and approx. triple the size of the other. Was about 10" long 3 1/2" in diameter. Normal secondary buds...a bit airy, but smokable, lol.
2. Main cola on trimmed fan leaves plant was almost as short as normal secondary buds, which ended-up almost as tall as main cola, netting lower yeild overall. Cola was about 7" long, a couple of inches in diameter.
Secondary buds were a bit larger and possibly a tad firmer than the other, but did not make-up for the lesser cola yeild overall. The bowl of Untrimmed disassembled plant was fuller than the other, and you could feel the dry weight difference.
Not scientific, and just one experiment...but same conditions, same light, same everything except removing a few of the fan leaves from the main cola.
Not sure if it's a 'light' issue, or it's removing that branches storehouse of nutes, hormones and minerals which slows it's growing tips, or what, but it did convince me to push the leaves aside rather than plucking them.
Overall, if a leaf is already looking sorry, and is in the way, I'll pluck it. Otherwise the most I do is push it out of the way.
However, SOG growers trim all the undergrowth, don't they? Perhaps that's the difference,
Taking from the top: not so good.
Taking from the bottom: not so bad?
Hmmm.....

Very interesting stuff.
I havent cut any fan leaves higher than the bottom 1/3rd of the plant other than 1 on the sativa, where it is right up next to the light, and a couple blade ends on the indica where they are also right up next to the light. I did on the other hand cut off the growth shoots at the nodes that showed slow growth, as I figured it would in turn concentrate on the rest of the shoots. Hopefully it wont harm the plants too much! These are very young ladies, vegged for only about three weeks, im hoping the buds will fill out in the upcoming weeks.

Wert, I can't wait to see all of your clones grow! It looks like soon you will have quite the crowd in that closet! I'm guessing you will have timing down for your perpetual harvest so as not to overcrowd your closet?
You have a heck of a beautiful Mom in there! I can see why you have so many clones. She seems like she would still be able to shoot off quite a few more!
Good luck on your continuing grow! I look forward to popping in and watching all of the growth in your log! Be good out there!

thanks for the kind words jakezking, i have actually been at the beach for the past two weeks, ive had a friend taking care of things.. im a little behind on the perpetual harvest because of it but i will have things in order soon..
i will have a update with more pictures on monday or tuesday.. the buds are looking fatter than ever!

First log, CFLs & PHarvest?!
Well guys, things are looking good on the homefront for the most part. They are looking slightly droopy due to underwatering and a little bit heat stressed, but theyre still alive! My big concern right now is MOLD!
First 3 pics are of the Kali Mix - The buds are reallll sticky and smell very skunky.
The second two are of the Indica, I am VERY pleased with how the top cola is getting so fat!
-
First log, CFLs & PHarvest?!
More pics!
The first two are of the sativa, its the most heat stressed, some of the top fan leaves were definately directly touching the light for an extended period of time.
The third is the sativa and the solo cup cheap walmart dirt project.
The fourth is a closeup of the solo cup, nice looking cola!
The fifth is of the whole flowering room.

Wert, those look like some really incredible buds! That macro picture really shows the pistils/hairs and trichs. I know it's getting really close to lunch time, but I didn't start drooling until I looked at your pictures.
It looks like your friend did a pretty good job in taking care of those ladies. They may be a bit dry, but look no worse for the wear. Looks like you may have to stake up some of those buds, since they are bending the stems over - a testament to how sweet they are!
Most of the trichs looked clear, but from the looks of the plants, they don't have much longer to harvest, eh? How old are they, and how much longer do you expect them to take? I'd guess they don't have too long. Darn fine work, bro!

First log, CFLs & PHarvest?!
Now on to the perpetual harvest aspect of my grow that will take over my closet in the next 2 or 3 weeks.
1st pic is of my first batch of ladies for the pharvest, im two weeks behind on my clones but i have 3 or 4 ready to go in.
2nd pic is of a strange mold on top of the soil, it looks kind of like a spider web, they get good ventilation and arent over watered so im not sure how this formed
3rd pic is a nasty site, i found this one amongst my other clones im assuming my friend was directly spraying the clones and not letting them get enough fresh air. YUCK!
4th is of the mother chamber, i gave my friend some of the kali mix clones for taking care of my ladies... the ones in the 20oz bottles are being repotted today or tomorrow.
Let me know what you guys think! Is that moldy clone salvageable? Its a shame because it was one of my favorites in this batch. Any ideas on the spider web like mold?

Haha thanks, I'm just starting to get used to the camera so my closeups will gradually get better.

Yes! He has quite the greenthumb himself, hes growing a local outdoor strain indoors that he likes to call 'The Pinks' because of its huge pink pistils. Hopefully I can acquire some clones soon.

As of right now, they are all 5 weeks and 5 days into flower, minus the little ones. I am expecting to cut down the kalis first but the indica doesn't seem too far behind. My biggest mistake in my past grows was harvesting too early, so hopefully I can be patient this time around :rastasmoke:

Your mold/web issue may be spidermites? I found a couple of pictures out surfing the web, and I am attaching them for your comparison. They actually show the nasty little buggers on the web. I don't know if you have a loupe or other magnifier, so you can get a closer look to make a determination of mite infestation.
As far as how to treat and whether you can salvage the mite infested, if indeed that is the cause, plants, there are probably some threads on this board which will give you some insight into the different sprays and/or oils and/or soaps you can use. That poor, hapless, little clone doesn't look like she'll make it though.
As a start though, I would remove the visibly infested/infected plants from the others and quarantine until you have a good plan of action for eliminating the unwanted pests/mold.
There you have my 2 cents. Hope it helps.

First log, CFLs & PHarvest?!
Hey man your ladies look great, mine are currently about 2-3 weeks from seed right now so im pretty excited because im just starting to get into maturity.
How old are your ladies from seed or Veg? how long do you usually veg from seed from? Just curious they look awesome, mine is bag seed but most of the best i have look alot like your kali's, even compared the seeds and they look the same too.
Good luck on the flower/harvest they look great.

First log, CFLs & PHarvest?!
Well guys, theres some good things and some bad things going on right now.
I was away at a music festival for the past 4 days, and alot of things have happened.
We are in day 47 of flower. While I was gone the solo cup plant grew male flowers!!! :( It was also the one right infront of the fan so all of the lower parts of my plants were polinated. I kind of see it as a good thing also because it is the funkiest smelling plant ive ever had. It sort of smells like a strawberry jollyrancher! My Kali Mix clones from my mother took exactly a month and 6 days to show roots, so I'm thinking about just flowering it and starting with these hybrid seeds. Im excited to see how they turn out. If a female plant is only pollinated on some of the bottom stalks, will the whole plant stop producing THC?
Pic 1 is the overall growroom.
Pics 2-3 are the cola buds on one of the Kali's. I cant tell whether or not there are seed pods in here. When I first noticed that they seeded I cut all the unseeded buds off one plant.
Pics 4-5 is the butchered Kali Mix female and a seed pod on her.
-
First log, CFLs & PHarvest?!
Pic 1-2 The strawberry jollyrancher that produced the male flowers, they were at the bottom nodes that are still attached.
Pic 3 Where the jollyrancher plant seeded itself.
Pic 4 The cola to the Indica. No sign of seeds, but ive counted atleast 5-6 seeds on the lowest nodes.
Pic 5 The cola of the Sativa. Also no sign of seeds, but a couple on the lower nodes. These two plants were much taller than that rest.
-
First log, CFLs & PHarvest?!
Pic 1 - Seed pod on the sativa.
Pic 2 - Another sativa cola shot.
Pic 3 - The pharvest ladies, two new additions but I am very far behind on my cloning because while I was away the Kali's that FINALLY started showing roots were either dead or had that spider mite looking web on it.
Pic 4 - The mother box, the three little ones are doing great, but the mother is looking pretty bad, I gave her a good fert, but her clones just take too long to root. I'm gonna flower her after this batch is done.
Pic 5 - Alot of the leaves on the mother were dried up so I did a little pruning job, the very first leaf I pruned I found these eggs on it! Afterwards, I searched every little part of the plant and all my other ones but no signs anywehre else.
Well guys, my biggest concern is whether or not the colas of that Kali are seeded or not. I've already smoked some of the buds off the other Kali Mix and they are TASTY! Very decent smoke considering it was cut early and practically unflushed.

The 5 bigger ones were all vegged for 4 weeks, and are now in day 47 of flower. The small ones were clones put into 24/0 until showing a decent amount of roots and then slapped into 12/12 immediately. An experiment I am doing, Im not really putting as much time into it as I should and I'm not happy with the results thus far. But when its all dialed in, I will have about 18-24 of those plants in the 20oz bottles with 3 coming out every week to harvest and 3 new clones going in at the same time. Also, there will be enough room on the side to have 1 or 2 plants vegged for 3-4 weeks to be thrown in there.

First log, CFLs & PHarvest?!
Day 45 of flower for the first batch (Week 6 day 3)
I cut the Kali's down a couple days ago, they are done drying and are curing, tested the smoke it is verry smooth, a real heady high. Everytime I harvest my Kali's (this is my 3rd batch) they smell different. This time it smells real similar to lemon balm! I love this strain because its ready so early and is just covered in crystals, but it takes about 1 month 1 week for any of my clones to root! The other strains take max 10 days. Anyways, dry weight on 1 was 22g's and other was 20 g's for a total of 42gs! My biggest harvest of Kali's thus far and the smallest plants at that. I left the bottom of one of the Kali's that had seeded, I figured the seeds wouldn't be ready until the bud started to deteriorate. (Am I right?)
On to the pics!
Pic 1 - Overall flower room.
Pic 2 - Indica cola, what do you guys think? How much time do I have left? Almost everyday I see fresh white hairs just bursting out at different places on the cola.
Pic 3 - Sativa cola, this looks to me like it has atleast 2 more weeks, I'm only going by the hairs thought so I could be completely off.
Pic 4 - Overall buds pic.
Pic 5 - What's left of the only seeded Kali, I plan on restarting the Kali/jollyrancher smelling plant strain in its place. I placed the old mother in flower on friday because of its poor motherly performance, maybe she'll make some good smoke instead!

First log, CFLs & PHarvest?!
I have a new batch of clones, mostly a new strain. Pretty soon 'The Pinks' will be covering my garden in large pink pistils! The future mothers aren't looking too bad either!
The 20oz bottle plants are short and stubby, in about week 4 so they should be fattening up in the next couple weeks. I let them grow too close to the light as I wanted them to stretch out a little more. I'm going to keep them further away in the next batch.
Pic 1 - 20 ozers
Pic 2 - Mother room, just topped the Indica.
Pic 3 - Clones, 1 Kali, 1 Indica, 2 Sativas, and 8 Pinks! 2 of the pinks are showing roots and 1 is about to go in dirt today.
Pic 4-5 - The jollyrancher smelling plant.

Seeds don't take long to mature. Usually, if the bud is ready to smoke the seeds should be viable.
Good luck.

I know what your talking about, I'm currently doing a rubbermaid grow and my plants are pretty well developed (well 6-8 of them). I started them from seed, prolly vegged for a month now but in poor conditions for the first 2 weeks as I didn't expect the bagseed to be so beautiful and forgiving.
With all those plants did you have any problems with them smelling through veg? I have one that's the most mature, I call Swamp Thing. It stinks so good right now but it's only like 6-7 inches :rasta:.
I noticed most of your plants are all pretty tall? I can't remember but did you avoid Fimming or LST on purpose ?
Your jolly rancher looks great on that closeup. It's cool to see your still using that beer cup! Any expectations on yield for that one? and did you prune it's branches or did they wilt?
Keep updating, looking awesome so far man! Can't wait for the next round of pics!

My friend that took care of my plants when I went to the beach a few weeks ago is growing a local outdoor strain indoors, it grows long bright pink hairs that have a purple hue when dried. Pretty decent yield with alot of resin production.

Your right! I cut down the Indica and the jollyrancher yesterday. I got 20 seeds from the Indy, 3 from the jolly rancher, and 4 from the Kali's. Luckily all the seeds were in the popcorn buds at the bottom of the plants. All thats left is the sativa! I'm excited about starting these seeds in about 2 weeks to a month.

Not really, I only vegged them for a month, the Kali's were somewhat stinky because it is an autoflowering strain that already had mini buds on it when stuck into 12/12. Thats the reason why I think Kali's are ready in 6 weeks (flower time)

Well, I have virtually no limit to the vertical space in my closet, but since I'm using CFL's I have to keep the area relatively tight. I LST'd 2 of the plants, one turned male. If you look at the main stem of the Indica it shows that I attempted to LST it, but when the other turned male I took all the ropes off. The sativa's nodes were so dense that I didn't see any reason to LST. Looking back on it, I should have topped or fimmed the indy and the sativa. I'm happy with the results though!

It was more of an experiment than anything. Cheap walmart dirt, bagseed. It grew male flowers at the bottom and spread its pollen all over the bottoms of the rest of the plants. I see this as a blessing though because it is the funkiest smelling plant I've ever had! Also, the Kali mother couldn't produce clones fast enough for me, so now I get to start over from seed. I expect to get around 5-8 grams from this little guy. The branches didn't wilt, it never grew any! All the fan leaves wilted off though, I believe it was due to the cheap walmart dirt as I had the same problem with my first grow using the same dirt.

All of your plants look awesome. I'm looking forward to pictures of the indica and jolly rancher buds drying/curing. Also, can't wait for a smoke report on those, especially the jolly rancher, as I hope it tastes as good as it smells.
It looks like you have a nice system down! And, I'm glad you wound up with some seeds on the lower popcorn buds - the best of both worlds, having sinsemilla buddage with some seeded buddage too! You must have some really good luck, eh?
I'm also looking forward to seeing some of those pinks! Be good out there, my friend!

Did you flower all the way through with those 2 liters? notice any problems?
I'm flowering right now with them too and notice my root structure is insane.
