hello
here are some pictures of my first grow, it is growing indoors in a cupboard with a 200w envirolite bulb. I'm hoping someone with more experience can help me with harvest time. they have been flowering for 60 days now and i think they are close to ready but don't want to be too eager.

Wonderful Buds!!! They look awesome. What do the trichs look like? are they still clear, milky white, or amber? You want them to at least be all be milky white in color. The more amber they turn, the more the TCH degrades and breaks down, but the more of a couch locked high you will get. Get a magnifying glass out and take a look. Like the orange hairs man:thumbsup:

thanks for your advice, I don't have a spy glass at the moment so will nip out and buy one tomorrow.
try for a 30x
there is a point when they pass potency .look at the trichomes (crystals)if they're not fully formed it's prior to peak, if they're fully developed then they're at optimum potency and if the crystals are turning brown and breaking off it's past peak.
A good rule is if you think it's ready give it another week to be sure but, also if your pistils are around %50-%75 brown then it should be ready good luck.:thumbsup:

thanks for your advice and kind words. Could anyone tell me if I was right to prune it the way I have, It looks like it gets me more buds in my tiny little cupboard but I have also read that leaving them alone get's you a bigger main bud. so which is best? or is a case of "horses for courses" if you know what i mean:)
That is the question to end all questions. It all depends on the strain and lighting/air situation. Some react better to it, some don't. Looks like you did a good job to me. Next time try not to mess with it and see if you get more. a trail and error thing.
Is that rope for LST? Or is it a snake? Anyway I just want to say...

Looking prety good so far. I was unaware that pistols (the hairs) could be used to determine maturity. (likely because you can't) Would stick with checking the trichomes from a couple of different locations on the plant, as it will likely mature unevenly.Quote:

just got my 30x spy glass, they are a bit hard to see but it looks like about 60% are a bit cloudy and the rest are clear I can't see any that have gone amber yet. they also seem to having a little growth spurt if you look at the close up photo. I think i will wait a few more days to chop.
Yes they will swell and the buds will put on about 25% more weight in their last few weeks. Have you started to flush? try to get all those milky white with some amber.
I started flushing about 10 or 12 days ago so with a bit of luck they should be nice and tasty once cured.
I have a few mates with plants in their greenhouses at the moment which all came from the same mother as mine(we bought a load clones between us without much of a clue what to do). so i have the chance to grab lot's of clones from these now thriving plants and thought i might try the "sea of green" method for my next try, although with the size of my cupboard I will have to call it "puddle of green".......really wish i had greenhouse:)
here's a few pics of the finished product curing plus some of my attempt to re-veg for clones, getting lots of mutant regrowth from the little buds I left on, I have just recieved the stuff to build a bubble cloner thingy (airstiones,pump, tubing) and will let you lot know how i get on with it.
man that is some nice lookin bud... well done! hope i have such a good result from my first go as you :thumbsup:

Ok im a first time grower, i think im getting the hang of the veg stage from all the great info on here. Thanks everyone!
But is that one clone? how much yield did that one clone give you?
Can someone direct me to a guide to pruning so this way i have more then one top on my plants. I would rather have more tops on each then one massive i think.
I have more room for bushy width then lanky height.
I'm also in a cabinet.
