I have several mail boxes at various mail box services across the country for various businesses that I own, I also have 4 here in Hawaii at different locations, none of them are in a Post Office. It is the same everywhere because it is a U.S. Postal Regulation. For them to be able to offer mail boxes to the public, they have to follow the same regulations.
Also, the if you have a package sent to a box, and it is intercepted and they determine that there are drugs inside it, they will still place it in your mail box, watch it, and wait until you receive it. Then arrest you for receiving it. This has happened a couple times already in the past. Normally its for larger quantities, but be aware that its a possibility.
