throw a fan leaf or lemon peel, etc., into the curing jar ...it sounds too dry :smokin:
When you hang them don't leave them too long. I hang mine for about a week and half and then move them to plastic bags and open it every couple days to make sure there's no mold.
Sorry - off topic:
Hey Image...in regards to your sig...cash is the answer...?
So if I am on a fixed income and can not afford to give, even tho I've been donating my time, efforts and knowledge to help medical cannabis growers, you don't consider it to be helping the cause?
Altho I'm sure it isn't intentional, this seems to be an insult to those of us without extra income to ease our guilt thru donations. Perhaps it's just the wording. Perhaps you were refering to those med users that sell their crop. IDK. But I do know that not everyone on these boards is comfortable enough financially, to donate to any cause.
Regardless...giving away my 'spare' change, so others can 'say' they are doing something 'on my behalf' is a philosophy I do not subscribe to. My time and limited monies are better spent keeping my family alive and healthy with a roof over our heads.
Altho MPP and NORMAL are kinda good at what they do, (NORMAL has been at it for thirty something years, and cannabis is still not legalized...this isn't curing cancer, it's pushing legislation. Get it in fucking gear!) they are not (or at least were'nt previously) geared to help the individual needs of med cannabis users. I've been trying to save-up for a Volcano for my wife, for almost 4 months now. She's having problems inhaling smoke again. Perhaps you could rag on NORMAL or MPP for me...see if they could help us out.
I don't know how this subject wound up in this thread :wtf: ... but, first off, MONEY is the fuel Washington D.C runs on, and nothing changes that fact ... I too, am on a 'fixed income' (disability), and I auto-withdraw $10/month for MPP ... if $10 a month gets to be too much for my budget to handle, I will blow my brains out, as I obviously have failed at life, with no chance of survival ... you can camp out in your Congressman's front yard in a tent, and greet him every morning with a 'legalize marijuana speech', and it won't mean shit ... BUT, donate (bribe) with Money, you will likely get his vote ... that's the 'real world' ... as for NORML, they almost had marijuana legalized in the early 70's, until their idiot founder 'Keith Stroup', got strung out on cocaine, and decided to push for marijuana AND cocaine legalization ... that single change lost thousands of pro-marijuana supporters (including myself) ... MPP, on the other hand, is almost solely responsible for getting the medical-marijuana laws on the ballots, they have just been OUTSTANDING  ... talking about pot to a bunch of stoners on a pot-website does NOTHING to change laws, nor do streetcorner soapbox speeches ... scrounge up $10 and send it in ... :smokin:
Because there are no pm's.Quote:

After pimping us locals for donations, and help collecting signatures, the idiots "forgot" to submit the ballots by the June 15 deadline. Time and monies wasted, on organizations founded to represent us cannabis smokers. Yeah...they've got it together now.Quote:

So send-in a $50.00 donation for me. That ought to be enough for this month, I'd really appreciate it.
Lets take a deep breath. Nothing wrong with donating to the cause to further legalization. A lot of us are in the same position of limited funds. Part of the problem is there are getting to be too many places asking for donations to further the cause. The only 2 that get my money are NORML and MPP. They both seem to be doing the most to further the cause. Though I think on the legal end of it MPP(Marijuana Policy Project) is getting more results.
educating friends who might educate their friends, who educate their friends... I try to help... im poor.
anyyyyways back to my thread topic?
any other ideas about fluffy buds?
great read, thank you... but i still feel as though my question was not answered...Quote:

or is it genetic perhaps?
if there maybe a thread I have not found that explains different drying/curing methods and what type of bud they will produce in smoothness, or how the bud will feel in handling?
it's cannabis ...not cotton...:thumbsup:Quote:

this is what i do, and my buds are nice and fluffy, i hang them bout a week (in the dark), then a few days more i hang till the stems feel like they might break if i snap them, i do not lay them down to finish, i then put them in jars and open the lids a few times a day for lets say five minutes or so. then i seal them after a week. the buds in jars for very long i check on them to make sure no mold when i remember. Good luck
maybe it depends on how long I hang dry them for???
hmmm
I wish i could show you the two types of buds i have acquired recently and show you guys the difference between softness
on is squishy and sorta inflates back to its original shape over time
and the other, well, just sorta crackles and snaps
but both are EXCELLENT in quality so i guess its just the way they cured it?
perhaps one was over-dried?
I think the density of bud depends on the genetics and how it was grown. Not much you can do to fluff a dense bud. If you have fluffy buds you could compress them when they are almost dry, but I wouldn't know why anyone would do that.
One thing I've noticed is, that the lower the light intensity, the fluffier the buds. Likely, even if your main cola is rock-hard...the lower (secondary) buds are light and fluffy. (unless side-light is provided throughout flower)
Tried growing with 4' fluorescents a few years back, and all of the buds were very light and fluffy. I purchased a 400w HPS's and the same strain provides large, rock-hard buds that take forever to dry and cure. Same strain, (Swazi Skunk) same soil ,(Miracle Grow) and same ferts and micro's, same schedules.
the two buds i referenced above are both dense buds, one is just more cushiony if thats a word....Quote:

correct me if im wrong i know this might not make since but just smoked a fatty and im answering to the best of my abillities i can
so yes i would think that you might be over drying the buds well not so much over drying more or less drying past your taste others may like super dry
Genetics and grow style.
Overheated grow rooms produce fluffy, stringy, hermi-filled buds.
Strains bred for humid or rainy climates produce fluffy airy buds.
Pure Indis produce dense nuggets under adequate light and correct temps.
You want fluffy but in good conditions, grow a sativa or a humid-weather strain like Island Sweet Skunk.
