3 accused of using corpse head to smoke pot

Two men and a juvenile are accused of digging up a corpse, decapitating the body and using the head to smoke marijuana, according to court documents.
Matthew Gonzalez and Kevin Jones have been charged with the misdemeanor offense of abuse of a corpse, said Scott Durfee, a spokesman for the Harris County District Attorneys Office.
According to documents filed in the case, Gonzalez, Jones and an unnamed juvenile on March 15 went to an Humble cemetery, dug up a man's grave, left with the head and turned it into a "bong."
Gonzalez told authorities about the incident Wednesday, and showed officers the defaced grave, including a 4-foot hole. Because of a heavy rain, officers were unable to determine whether the casket or the body had been disturbed.

Hard to tell if this is even real. Man I would hate to sleep anywhere near these guys! You just lay down for a nap and next thing you know...:D

Idiots like this give the whole pot smoking community a bad name. I would be so pissed if I told someone I smoke pot and they asked me if I ever though about digging up corpses to use as bongs.
If this is true then these idiots should be beaten severely and have to serve as stewards of that cemetary for at least six months. If anything happens to the bodies in that time then we go back to the beatings.

this whole scandal and all of this is good for the cause..... Yeah were alot closer now

not so much the graverobbing, but hey, people have done that for stupider reasons [i'm guessing]

i just find it hilarious that they went through the effort to make a skull a bong, i understand it might be hard for teenagers to get real bongs or pipes but damn, or worse yet use computer paper
skulls have so many cracks and holes that it would take too much effort for the average stoner to give a crap after a few minutes

though personally, i'd have just turned it into a hookah
with the tubes coming out of the eyes and nose, now that would have been trippy

Story sounds a bit sensational (like some sort of terrible attempt at negative mj propoganda..it makes you dig up people and smoke through their heads!!!!), On the other hand there's some huge weirdos out there so you never know I guess. Disgusting though.

How To Make a Skull Bong

A guide for the ultimate deadhead.

On Thursday, the Houston Chronicle posted a story on its Web site about three teenagers who, according to Houston police, dug up the grave of an 11-year-old boy buried in 1921, removed the corpse's head, and used it as a bong to smoke marijuana. Police have not found the head and say heavy rain has prevented them checking the open grave for a casket. If it's true that the kids stole a skull, could they really have used it as a bong?

Maybe. If the Texas teenagers recovered a skull in ideal condition, they would still have a lot of work to do before they could smoke weed out of it. There are different types of bongs, but any workable model must offer a seal tight enough that water and smoke cannot escape. Assuming the skull was used right-side up, and that the pot-smokers used the brain cavity as their bong chamber, thin fissures in the eye sockets and any other holes would need to be sealed with something like grout to prevent the smoke from seeping out. The teens would also have to cover over the base of the skull, which contains a large opening through which spinal nerves reach the brain. And there are dozens of small nerve holes, called foramina, which might produce a watering-can effect if left unplugged.

The most effective skull bong might include a removable "slide," a tube that holds lighted marijuana in a bowl on one end and carries smoke into the water in the chamber at the other end. The slide could be inserted into the chamber via a snug hole in an airtight seal over the nasal opening. The user would need to drill a hole in the top of the skull to use as a mouthpiece. While lighting the marijuana in the bowl, the user would suck on the mouthpiece to draw smoke through the water and into the chamber; then he would remove the slide and inhale the smoke.

If the skull were too brittle to be easily drilled, the teenagers might have flipped it upside down. Then they could put the slide through the nose as before but use the large hole at the base of the skullâ??the foramen magnumâ??as the mouthpiece. The disadvantage of this method would be the tendency for the skull bong to roll over when set down.

This all assumes that the teenagers had gotten their hands on an undamaged skull. The decomposition of a corpse depends on a number of factors, such as whether the body has been embalmed, what type of casket is used, and the conditions of the surrounding environment. In ideal conditions, an embalmed body might be covered in leathery flesh for years, which would make using the head as a bong unappealing to squeamish stoners. (There might be some residual brain tissue left inside.) In less pristine conditions, groundwater might have eroded everything, even the bones.

This seems like so much effort for a doubtful payoff --- I think if I found out I was smoking out of a real skull, I'd probably puke.

I can't believe that one article went step by step into how to make a skull into a bong! Thats just sickening....

I wonder if on "cop forums" they post this story and then post lots of replies and rants that have nothing to do with the people in the story, but instead go on and on bashing all "pot heads".
I am sure there is that rogue cop though that sticks up for us and tries to explain that is just "those" people, and is not representative of EVERYONE that uses cannabis. I bet he gets flamed too.:D:jointsmile::D

It's a funny story, those people are dumbfucks. And I hope you all learned a lesson, and think twice before you let your own personal rage about cannabis being illegal and all that goes along with that fuel a hate filled rant against "cops" in general when someone posts a video of some cop being a douche. I am sure that you could find just as many examples, example for example of people using cannabis, being jack asses too. I know everyone thinks this story is really sick, and it is. But making bongs from the heads of exhumed corpses is a lot more common than you think. For example, President Bush was in a fraternal organization called Skull And Bongs. They had a bong made out of the hollowed-out skull of a 16th century prince of Romania. They called it The Noggin. They used to wear long, red, hooded monks robes and sit in a big circle, in a darkened chamber, lit only by flickering candle-light, passing around The Noggin, and plotting world domination. Taking hits off The Noggin was often referred to as taking "cerebral core-tokes." The only kind of weed for cerebral core-tokes off The Noggin was, of course, "headies."

Maybe they watched How High 1 too many times and thought they could smoke a dead dude and and got the bright idea to smoke out of a dead dude.

Yeah, this is pretty amazing. If you look in the original article at the pictures of the guys who did it, they look like dumbshit, inbred, lowlife, petty criminal, morons. So you might expect one of them to make a bong out of a skull. But presumabley the editors of Slate are not dumbshit, inbred, lowlife, petty criminal, morons. So you wonder whey they felt the need to run a story going into detail on how to descrate a body.
