Strain Selection: From Start to Finish!!

Hey There Friends!!
I am starting a project that I havn't seen done yet. This is the beginning of a grow log. For Newbies and Vets alike. I am going to start from the beginning and document the entire process of selecting a strain to the finished, cured medicinal end. I will select 3 strains ( Saticia, Indica, and a Hybrid) from a seed company. I will then order seeds and begin the grow. I have many years experience and will be growing hydroponically. I will take photos of everything beginning to end. I will not take photos of the packaging the seeds came in for privacy reasons. Everything else will be documented. So what do you all think...good idea?
Ok first let's all select 3 strains. What would you like to see grown out? Keep in mind it has to be seeds currently available from a seed bank. Sativa, Indica, Hybrid....

May I suggest the S.A.G.E. for your hybrid? "Sativa-Afghani Genetic Equilibrium" and lives up to its name- very balanced, plus delicious.
And just for fun, wouldn't it be neat to grow, alongside the hybrid, each of the parent strains from which it was created? A classic Afghani, and a Haze. Fun fun!

That sounds rather facinating to me! Any ideas on source for genetics? I see all types of afg and haze but the SAGE? Very interested, let me know.

I have found the S.A.G.E and am considering that. Any smoke report on the SAGE? Stinky, anybody else do one of these from start to finish?

The duck-foot marijuana plant looked very interesting to me, might want to check it out.

I've smoked a bit of SAGE in my day and it actually has a sagey aroma to it. Nice balanced high, lovely nug color, great frost. It's really premium stuff.

ive smoked alot of purple and grown a couple of strains it has a very nice high and is good for my nausea i like it in the morning cause im loaded yet easy to function.

trainwreck kicks my ass havnt grown it but it was a night smoke for me or i probly wouldnt do a !@#$% thing all day

iwould like to see where that would lead to but if your not gonna meet me half way to smoke a bowl dont tease me

arjans haze definitly hands down best highs ive had come in mid nov outdoors and 22% you could cross it with any thing and improve high if it tastes good

the hell with meeting me in the middle ill go the whole way

I was contemplating the Purple Wreck. I think that would do it. The SAGE, Kali Mist, and the Purple Wreck. Damn I should do the bubblegum as well just for the head! Well I said to myself that I would not deviate from the plan so if availability is there I will move forward! Any other input, let me have it!

(3) Hydro Tray flood system 3x3 W/ 40 gal res
(3) 1000w hps for flower
Rockwool grow slabs
Rockwool conditioner
fans and carbon filters
Botanicare nutes
AN supplements
tap water

arjan's haze? isn't that only sold by the greenhouse seed company? I mean.. what were you being so confidential about.. anywayss.. I would recommend Arjan's Ultra Haze # 1. Has anyone tried Lemon Skunk? I'd like some reviews on that..

Poseidon, I was only being confidential about the METHOD of shipping. I believe that's in the rules. If not I still will not reveal that, just a principle, sorry. Arjan's ultra haze # 1...have you tried it?
I also would like to hear smoke reports on the Kali Mist if any of y'all have had experience... Thanks for the input!

It's probably a good idea not to reveal stealth shipping methods- not that the fuzz can't easily figure it out though, lol. Let's just make them have to look harder... :jointsmile:

i agree completely on the SAGE for the hybrid...insanely potent as well...I believe TH seeds is the creator/breeder of that strain... Black Domina is one of my favorite indicas, and I would LOVE to see someone bio some metal haze...fantasy strain of mine i would love to get ahold of...

It's Northern Lights #5, Skunk, and Haze liniage makes for a fucking epic smoke.

Real hazy smell too, I loves this shit, and I'm going to be growing some of my own sometime.

OK I am going to order. All input has been great and I like the idea of SAGE gowing with the origins right close by. I am going to run a straight Afghan, Haze, and the hydrib SAGE. I will be setting up equipment and describing a grow area(s) and when the order is recieved we will begin. Thanks all!

Kali Mist is A Very good strain.Great for pain relief,I Find It Produces a Very up cerbral sativa style buzz even though it's a hybrid(Roughly 50/50).But The Indica influence does come through...if you smoke to much you become completely couch locked and get the munchies....The buds as well are very Sativa looking...They were very "airy" and fluffy.Very thick Trichome Production.The buds broke apart easily,no need for a Grinder.
The Kali mist I Recently Had wasn't Hydro-Grown though.It Was Organically in soil,But indoors,so I'm sure it would do well in a hydroponic set-up.
It truely is a Medical Connoiseur Grade Strain...when grown properly it should reach AAA to AAAA quality.If you have th chance to do another crop in the future you should definitly include this beauty!

Have any of you heard of a strain called "Pink". I've seen plenty of pink this that or the others but just plain Pink?

I've never heard of a strain simply named "Pink".
I Had Some Pink Kush recently...

I can't find anything about just straight Pink. Something someone made up growin out a bagseed I would say. As for the project all the tables and res's are cleaned out and conditioning rockwool. Just waiting on those sweet little beans....in the mean time check out WeedHound's killer log about Redwood Trees...
