OK simple, i have ~60 watts of CFL warm daylight lights idk the lumens.
I'm using MG potting soil, i know its not "The best" but its what i got.
the plant is about 2 weeks old, i don't know true sprouting date because my friend gave it to me. :D
i have bought a "soil" Ph tester the one with the big metal prongs.
so no more Ph days!
i also bought pulverized lime stone for a Ph up and agriculturial sulfur for a Ph down.
I'm gunna try and not use nutes unless necessary and are of a organic origin this way it is easier to find in rural KY.
the plant was badly stretched so i just planted it deep in a small pot covering the stem up to the baby leaves (dont know the technical word) it has sence added 1/3 of a inch fresh dark stem :D
i will have pics ASAP!

Today i checked the soil PH it wa hovering in the high 6's low 7's.
the plant is working on its second set of true leaves!
i am guessing it is indica because the leaves are so short and wide.
i planted 2 more seeds i germed in a pill bottle that i left on top of my PC screen.
i am using filtered tap water, Ph is about 7.0.
the plant is about a half inch away from the lamps with a large room fan blowing over them.
the room which is my room dropped down to 65 last night, because i have no heat!
i wipped up the space heater and got it to about 75.
my rome is getting kinda humid so im gunna leave the door open to let the humidity flow out.
how do i transition the seedling back to outdoor with out stressing it out?

60 W of CFL should do pretty good for one plant, as long as that's real watts and not the incandescent equal. Sounds like things are about right. If your grow area gets in the 60s at night, that's not a big deal. Try to not have a fluctuation of more than 15 degrees (10 is better) but if the plants get cold it just means they'll grow slower.
I've never "transitioned" to the outdoors. I've always just put my youngsters out in the woods and they take off nicely. To be safe though, don't just put indoor plants out into full sunshine. If you're not planting in a partially shaded area, I would maybe let them have 3 or 4 hrs of full sun to start for a couple days, then they should be good to go.

thx Mr.Yutts, the wattage is on the sides of the lights i think 43 and 22 so 65 watts.
i had to repot into some of those weird cardboard feeling pots.
i have a slight Ph problem.....here we go again.:wtf:
the ph is about 7.5-8.0 what is the measure to lower is to about 6.8-7.0, because here in ky the soil is about 6.8 so i want the plant to be as ready as possible for full earth grow.
i decided to go with lemon juice instead of a sulfur Ph down.
i have a electric Ph/moisture/light tester.
i live by some tight woods to go paintballing in but my team fell apart so i can find a tight grow spot.
will a indica fair well in a shadey wooded area?
and in case the the plant is a sativa is LST cool in a outdoor setting?
-

I got the ph problem fixed.....
but i have some other plants i am fooling with (tomato, cat grass, oregano, and basil) maby yall can give some diagnosis on the problems.
PIC 1 is my poor tomatoe. PIC 2 is my CFL's PIC 3 is kentucky green grass ;) PIC 4 is the garden lime PIC 5 is the grow area all bundeled up.

I grow indicas in partial shade in the woods. They do fine, but indicas tend to have more dense buds so you have to watch out for bud rot toward the end, when it starts raining. You may have to harvest early, while with a sativa you might not have such problems.
Yes you should be able to LST a sativa outdoors, but some don't like it and some don't mind so much, so you might just have to experiment a little. I'm not a big fan of LST since it produces massive amounts of small buds. I like topping better since you have more control over size and amount of buds that way. On the other hand, for outdoor plants you might want small buds so that when they get heavy with resin and rain they won't break.
I'm by no means an expert problem diagnoser, but the tomato looks a little wilted, which can be either under or over watering. For dirt plants, make sure you let the soil dry out as much as possible before watering again. It won't even hurt to just check them twice a day until you notice the first signs of thirst. The yellowing leaves toward the bottom might be an indication of Nitrogen deficiency.
Also, I'd want at least twice that much light for all those plants. Your plants will grow that way, but they will stretch and results will not be very exciting. They're a little more expensive, but I would also throw in a daylight, or cool light CFL (5400-6500K, preferably 5700). Your plants will be more bushy that way and yield will be a little higher.
Good luck.

yeah i know i moved the cat grass to a window sill, the tomato plants outside and i have the oregano and my baby plant under the light...
the oregano suffered major wilting in 15 minutes of sunlight and a light spring shower, damn acid rain!:cursing:
i am trying a plant grafting experiment, where i scored the sides of two healthy tomatos and smacked them together withy twisty ties!
the baby plant is looking good.
and i made major changes to the grow area

Be sure and let us know how that grafting works out.

i found a meat therm and tested the soil, it is about 75F and the box is a lil bit lower in the 72's
the plant is sitting in the pot wedged into a big blue cup so it is about 3 inches away from the light.
pics soon.

the plant is working on its fourth node!
the 3rd node leaves have a set of 3 leaves.
and the next will prolly have 4 or 5.
what is the earliest you can get a plant to show sex?

yes sir!
the temp is going up and down between 65 and 76 at night, i know a flux of 10 up or down is ok but is it cool to be 70+ at night?

her soil got dry so i just gave ger a misting and im going to water tomorrow.
she is now 9 days old. :D
-
first log, first solo, bag seed grow
first, at 9 days old, your seedlings need almost no light, when they do want more light, useing cool lights (5000Kelvin to 6500Kelvin) is best for vegging (you'll want SOME warm light {1900Kelvin to 3000Kelvin}, maybe a 4 to 1 ratio, watt for watt). when they're ready for flowering you'll want to go in the other direction with mostly warm (red) lights, about a 3 to 1 ratio (cool, or blue produces less intense light).
second, and don't take this the wrong way but, vacuum that rug man, carpets are a great place for mold spores and who knows what else.
third, take a look at some of the Rubbermaid grow threads and you'll see, you're gonna need more space, those kitty-litter tubs actually work pretty well for a single-plant DWC.
here's some pics from some other threads to inspire ya, and all credit goes to the original posters, these aren't from me. the link to MY pics is in my signature

After about 6 or 8 nodes you can usually presex, depending on variety and conditions. Search presex for better info, but I've done it and it's pretty easy once you get the hang of it. At each node there will be a little ball, gently peel off the out layer with a tweezers and look at what's inside with a magnifying glass. If there are hairs then she's a lady, if there are balls he's a male. Of course at any time you can also switch to flower mode, or even make one branch switch by covering it or the rest of the plant with a lightproof bag, and giving the branch it's own light schedule. Within a week or two of doing so, gender will become very apparent. Then you can dump the males and revert the females back to veg or continue to flower them.
I save the good cat litter containers and use them for all sorts of stuff. I think they hold 4 gallons, and they work very well for a DWC set up for an individual plant.
Temperatures in the 70s at night are fine. You don't need a temperature fluctuation, it's just OK to have one.
Be careful, if the soil dries out she should probably watered, not misted.
Bozo is right about the colors of light. The best is 5700K for vegging and 2500K for budding, but you probably will have to settle for 2700K. It's best if you can have a mix of about 85% blue and 15% red for vegging and the opposite for budding. Blue promotes bushiness, but you can still get pretty good results with all 2700K, the most common and least expensive CFL.

thats right repotting time!
my plant has a strong enough root to have broken through my litte bio-degradeable pots so im going to move up to a half gallon pot.
-
first log, first solo, bag seed grow
I GOT PRE-FLOWERS!!!
10 days old and she has pre-flowers!!!
fingers crossed that she is a she, but i think she is cuz the leaves glitter and glisten!
males dont produce very much D9-THC right?
-
first log, first solo, bag seed grow
the plant is calling for a repot soon.
should i cut off the old pot and only leave the parts around where the roots broke through, or just dump her direcly into a new pot?
-
first log, first solo, bag seed grow
If by biodegradable you mean that you're supposed to be able and just put the whole pot in the ground, then you don't need to take the roots out. Otherwise take the root ball out and rough up the outside roots a little before repotting.
-
first log, first solo, bag seed grow
Well, I'm pretty damn sure it is a indica dominant.
here are some of my shitty photos.
-
first log, first solo, bag seed grow
i re-potted today, i left the old biodegradable pot on but cut little squares out of the bottom for the roots to have easy access to the fresh soil.
new pics! (pic one is a light thermometer counts by 20's) 81 with fan on....160 fan off.

She is doing great in her new pot.
im amazed how fast this on is growing!
-
first log, first solo, bag seed grow
Looks good. Careful, ventilation is suspect when wrapped in a container like that. Watch for mold, but if there's no problems so far you're probably fine.
-
first log, first solo, bag seed grow
yeah, i know mold is a bitch!
but i need more people coming here to see my so far success.
(I.E Stinky, Shovel, WH, DB, and the gang)
but thank you for frequenting my log Opie.:D

im gunna give it a week or so to tell totally.
im gunna be hopefull.

its a male. :(
but i want some sweet seeds so, he gets to live and im gunna harvest the pollen out side!

im gunna start a few more little ones soon in a incubator tray with humidity dome.
and pray i get a girl, cuz the season in ky started on the 5th of may!

ok well all the plants have been transplanted to larger waterbottles
1.25 liters at the most 12 ounce bottle at the least.
-
first log, first solo, bag seed grow
well everything looks about the same now as it did yesterday.
i mark the roots to see how far they grow in a day, the grow between 1 and 2 inches in a day.
the plants look healthy one of the plants is droopy but still dark green, so i think it is genetic maybe PH.
but all in all they are doing great.
im about to move 3 outside in a few days.
see yall tomorrow
-
first log, first solo, bag seed grow
every thing is doing great.
i named a plant "lucky" cuz it's root system got destroyed by a ferret.
it hass made a recovery, and is growing fast.
i am going to move the plants to a outdoor seting extremely soon.
but i have a plant thats leaves curve towards the center leaf.
but not curled like a sick/over heated plant.
but ill have pics tomorrow hopefully.

first log, first solo, bag seed grow
i moved 3 plants outside into a wooded area that used to be a playground about 50 years ago.
2 of them tipped over lastnight and when i went to check on them they where bent at a 90 degree angle.
everything else is doing great
-
first log, first solo, bag seed grow
one of the outdoor plants tipped over again and the roots got preatty messed up, so it might die.
the other 2 are doing freaking sweet.
the indoor plants are doing great.
lucky has outgrown the other plants that are around it.
i LST'd 2 of the lants to keep a even canopy in the box.
i sprouted about 6 seeds also so im hoping to big or go home this time!
-
first log, first solo, bag seed grow
well all the indoor plants are fixing to move outdoor.
the one outdoor plant died, so i dried it rolled it up and gave it to my friend as a joke.
the other two are doing good, except they have a litte bug on them that has white hair and can jump 10 feet.
