Smoking out of Bongs

I've been smoking for about a year now, and for the most part, I've only smoked out of bongs. I got my first bong a month after I started smoking and just have used that whenever, unless i'm going somewhere, or my friends who wont smoke out of bongs come over. I've had severe bronchitics for about four months now, and I have not quit smoking and it seems to get better, then worse, better, worse. I quit taking my medication half way through and just smoked and my coughs got much better, and now that I'm starting to take it again I feel like I might just cough up blood any minute. Is this because I've only used bongs for so long, or just because smoke in general is bad for you. I'm really considering buying a vape to save my lungs and my health...any advice?

How often have you cleaned your bong since you got it?

Sticky has a point- make sure it's not an issue of your bong having some bacteria in it or something.

As far as your bronchitis, you should be coughing- you need to get that stuff out of your lungs so you can get better all the way. Spending some time in the sun might help dry it up too.

In the meantime, if you are going to smoke, just make sure you keep your bong very very clean. Hope you feel better soon:rasta:

I clean my bong like once a month. I usually end up buying new ones every 3-5 because someone breaks one haha. Should I be cleaning them more then once a month? And when I mean clean...I use salt and rubbing alcohol. Other then that I do use warm water and soap...but a full on clean is like once a month. As for sun, I live in California, so theres plenty of that haha. Its just that my coughs are getting really violent lately and it feels like my throat is tearing and I go into five minute coughing fits which is really uncomfortable to say the least.

smoke is just bad for your lungs. Vaporizer is much easier on your body.

I have to agree with donsolo... but sometimes traditional methods are the only avail option or the easiest at the time. nobody I know owns a vape except me so if i'm at a buddys house it's a pipe or bong. Bong over pipe any day..pipes roast my throat.

There may be a bacteria build up as someone said, in your bong.

Clean the slider out after every use, just soak in rubbing alcohol after use.

My advice would be to stop smoking for a while and just take your medicine. It may be hard for you but you can do it. If your a legal smoker, talk to your doctor about it. Otherwise I would save my lungs and quit smoking until I got better.

Smoke once or twice a day

Try just pipes for a while or joints or such

Stay away from bong and GBs

And if u run once a day and get your lungs working hard it helps, u will caugh up most of the liquid in ur lungs.

I do waterfalls all the time it's chill.. Bongs are a nicer hit than a pipe a vape is better for your lungs if you get one get a volcano they're expensive but bad ass. Try putting some ice in your bong if you have an ice chamber, or a fork//spoon and than fill it up with ice, it'll hit smoother.

stop smoking for a while, man. i have allergy related asthma and when its allergy season i just dont smoke because it irritates my lungs too much. the safest thing you can do is just clean your bong and then put it away until you get better.

Sounds like this is a good time to take a break and lose some of your tolerance.

Seriously, I would quit smoking for about a week or so to give your bronchitis time to clear up.
