Southern Cali best county
Hi all,
My fiance and I are moving to southern California sometime in the next few months. We want to know from the people who know, where is the best place in Southern California for lenient laws, a relaxed attitude about medicinal marijuana and where things are pleasant. We have had a lot of hardships and now we would like to give-back to those in need and participate in caregiving as well as working to make sure people in need of medicinal marijuana can have it without fear of penalties.
Thanks!

The people here in so-cal are some of the most 420 friendly people I have experienced. (goes along with the whole laid back San diego life style) As far as laws and penalties, I couldn't say it's completley problem free, but definatley a nice area for this friendly atmosphere.

Stay away from Riverside and San Bernardino counties. The cops are dicks and just about every city has some type of medical co-op ban. It's also getting worse and worse with more violence from gangs. Used to be not so bad, just a little boring, but now it's getting just as bad as LA. It's also probably the most affordable area in So Cal, but I guess you get what you pay for.
I'm not sure about the desert cities though, (Indio, Palm Springs, etc.) That whole area is sort of like it's own part of cali. There are a few co-ops, but it's still Riverside county so the authorities aren't pro-medical marijuana. I can only guess the San Fernando Valley is most lenient with regards to medical marijuana, seems to be a co-op fair ground out there.
Where are you coming from if you don't mind me asking?

I live here in Lakeside, a little inland from the beach. Personally, I would love to live on El Monte road which is pretty close to the I8 freeway "take Lake Jennings exit basically and make a right down el monte road. It contains some beautiful mountains and lots of farm land. Beautiful area. I have always loved that place since I was a kid. I got a friend that lives down there. It's about a 3 mile dead end road so cops dont bother going in there unless they have a reason.
Your 1990 Winnebego will fit right in

Also avoid San Diego, nice place to visit, but I'm always reading about San Diego patients having to drive into the LA area for their meds.

I could suggest several places but when you move to a area and expect to rent you have new issues like they want income info, verify your employment, credit checks, references, etc.
Now how much you can spend is eqaully important and we might be cool here but were all worried about the almighty dollar. You should have an idea or place ahead of time, the move is half the battle finding a place to call home is the other half.

why come here? The people who r natives to SoCal r having a hard time keeping and getting work themselves, and more people just keep comming. They tell me Oregon is a good medicinal state.Yes it's expensive out here and unless you have an income that you can count on then good luck.Do you speak spanish? Most jobs want bilingual workers. If ur in the over 50 crowd then at least that would help.
Just what is it u want to come out here for anyways? And where r u all from?

I am thinking of moving to south California in a few years (maybe San Francisco area) I am wondering how often do you have natural disasters (earthquake, monsoon, tidal wave, hurricane) also I am wondering about how much an apartment would go for. Do you have any suggestion on an area I should move to. I want to be close to Berkley (found job there) but also I want to be near a dispensary and I do not want to be in gang territory. I am coming from upstate NY and am very excited for a city life. What is the best way to make money in the city. Also, what is the going rate for medical bud. How hard is it to find work. Thanks in advance, chronicuser

I have lived in California all my life. My grandparents live in Fairfax, which is north of S.F. They have made it through the major earthquakes for the last 60yrs+. They are scary but also have a low number of life loss. I know that the MMJ is expensive (typically between $60-$80 AN 1/8!!!), but with you coming from North East Coast this might not bee too much of a payment shock. You are going to notice a drastic improvement in quality. S.F. does have some of the highest quality strains available in all of North America.
I am not very familiar with the current employment opportunities in S.F. (I know skywalker ranch is up there, and a creative consultant job for ILM would probably be fun, but seriously you might want to check out monster.com or something like that) Finding work anywhere is difficult right now, you need to be willing to learn new and uncommon skill sets........ maybe growing?
Sorry couldn't be more help..... have you considered going even more north? I know that Northern California has an abundance of high quality cannabis and good employment opportunities. Check Eurika, Arcada and even more north, you will find something. :S5:

anywhere along the coast line is going to be nice. velencia is coming up. right now i work by passadena (industry) hacienda heights is nice. san clamente, lagoona hills, san juan capistano, santa ana, OC (orange county) are really nice places that would be my first choices. 2nd would be san fernando valley/hollywood, santa monica. i know of property in san fernando going for 200grand.

im not sure about northern cali tho because i do not do well with the cold (ha im puss i no) but no that is a huge price increase right now the average person pays about 30 an eighth or 240 an o but i pay like 100-120 an o so its around 12 bucks an eighth. I know a lot about constuction are their any construction or electrician or plumbing jobs maybe (Residentail or commercial) :pimp: and is that price on the street or in the dispensaries
Southern Cali best county
san diego and san bernardino donot offer cards and refuse to honor them riverside, orange, and la counties are your best bet, if your older palm springs is agreat place with dispensaries and co-ops weekly mpp meetings could tell more if u ask. i live in riverside and its not that bad mostly deliveries here for now but what you can afford should be another question i pay 1000 dollars amonth for a 1 bedroom and live in riverside, and it just goes up the closer u get to the beach
and berkley is next to oakland which is dirty grimey ass place to live but has the best pot and prices in the country with dispensaries ran by the city and i believe its now legal for everyones consumption if your at least 21 years of age but its like that in santa monica and hollywood also and it just depends what u smoke as far as prices they range man

True, but, If you're a fellow connoisseur of the green stuff, then come on over. We just need all the douches to leave:D. But Ventura County is awesome! Right by Santa Barbara county too. It's beautiful here.
