I have been lurking for quite some time and thought I would officially sign up and share.

Hot after 33 days of hardcore fiber (this stuff makes metamucil downright pleasant), liver cleanse, some exercise (not running for miles or playing hockey - just a workout with weights, some treadmill time) and completely abstaining.

I think I don't have a liver, but just a big old thc metabolite patty.

I tell this as an example for all the questions of people starting topics here and asking "I am 14 days clean, should I be OK?" or people saying "You are 30 days clean, you are fine"

Proof that everyone is different. You can't rely on someone's assurance on a message board.

I don't think I am an :whalephant: , and while an everyday :rasta:, was not smoking a lot, I don't think.

Arm yourself with knowledge, options and home test.

Upcoming UA - test date unknown, but expect it to be sometime after over 40 days clean.

QUESTIONS:

1) Anyone have comments/thoughts/experience about/with the Medtox 10 panel?

I think it is a dip test w/ 50ng c/o, but want to be sure.

2) Any reason QF would not be advised?

3) Any reason why women do not stash the QF in the vajayjay? I've read a lot of women say they just did a pantie stash. It would seem to be that a vajayjay stash would be a safer bet for temp. Thoughts?

4) The QF is similar to what they use for the control in a GC/MS, right? As such, should not trigger any detective work?

5) What is the uppermost limit for the THC metabolite - for instance, if someone smokes everyday for 5 years, is there that much difference between that person and someone who smokes daily for 1 month? Isn't there only so much metabolite one can store? FBR probably knows the answer to this (smooch FBR)

First off this is a perfect example of differing metabolisms and should be taken as a lesson to everyone. I'm really not sure on your specific "Medtox" test, but I would assume that if it was a dip test chances are it is a 50ng limit. (Anyone know 100%). The only reason I'd say QF would be ill-advised would be if you are going to be supervised, it seems this is a pre-employment and you will not be. QF will not trigger detective work, period. It is 100% effective if used properly (temp). Vahjayjay :S2: someone watches Oprah (she ruined that word for me). You could store it there, but I'd say that a panty stash might be preferable. (Can't say from experience obviously) With a heating pad the temperature would be EQUALLY as sustainable, and in case you have to wait long periods of time, might be more comfortable. This is up to you, practice keeping the temp. normal with both methods and if they are both comfortable, keep you in the 90-100 range, and are equally as easy to use it is totally preference. QF will trigger No detective work, period. It is 100% effective if used correctly (temp). As far as #5 goes, I'm really not sure of an upper-limit (do you mean stored in the body or tested from urine). Obviously it would differ from person to person and if you meant stored in the body it would depend on the amount of fat. A person with more % body fat could store a larger amount, now the amount of metabolites you can store maximum per say gram of fat is also a good question (no idea). For an upper limit in the pee, that would rest on the detoxifying properties of the body. I'd like to see what FBR has to say on that as well. I could say that the quantity smoked over a given period of time would be more important than the actual time. That is to say we'll pretend we have 2 clones with same metabolisms that have both been heavy users for one year. Clone A, we'll call him the Vahjayjay smokes only an eigth a week, while Clone B, Hee(wo)man smokes an ounce per week. B would be storing more metabolites per amount of fat in his system regularly. When it came time to test B would test steadily above A. I'm not sure on whether there is a limit to that however. For example since they can only store _ amount thc metabolites per _ amount of fat there would be a limit on what you could smoke and still store. So if say their fat could store only one smoked ounce of buds per day of metabolites, the other could smoke 2 and test the same. FBR what's your opinion.

I mean, when considering the half life of the THC (or metabolites) in the body - it would seem to me that at some point you would reach an upper limit, and that your body can only "store" so much.

I looked at some of the thc calculators, and while I realize that they are not scientific, and should not be the measuring stick for when one is clean, nor does it take into consideration metabolism, age, weight, body fat, etc,

there is not much difference between a "smoked today" smoker who smokes for 77 days straight and one who smokes for 110 days, for instance. T

here has to be some reasoning behind that, right?

For instance, I have read (take that FWIW) that your body can store Vitamin A, a fat solulable vitamin for 2 years -

Sensigirl being that you are taking a pre-employment ua I would just use the quick fix. Why stop smoking? I am no doctor or scientist,but according to your size and weight you must be in shape I would guess that you are probably clean.If you are in doubt get a home test and check yourself. When they get your pee and send it to a lab the lab will use a dip test on your pee if it comes up neg they will dump the sample out and call it quits there. If it comes up pos on the dip test they will then send it to GC/MS for confirmation. So if you test clean on a home test then I would'nt worry but if you are'nt clean just get quick fix and keep toking. I used it tuesday and everything went smooth as silk. Read my thread titled "I DID IT". I listed a timeline with the temp through out my day to show how it works. This may put your mind at ease a little if your going to use the quick fix. And also you do not have to put that qiuck fix bottle in your vagina like some say that women do just put on a pair of hip hugers to hold the bottle in place and close to your crotch area so that your body and the heat pad will help mantain the temperature of the quick fix. Hope this helps

Guess again. :wtf: That was the reason I even posted on here, to share with people that 34 days clean does not mean you're testing clean.

I have been home testing for weeks now. Tested at 8 days for shits and giggles. :( Tested at 21 days :(, tested at 33 days. :mad:

All hot. Did not try dil. on any of those test, but will be practicing that today, day 35. :( We'll see how it goes.

And, I am starting a hardcore training program this week for an upcoming event, and that may make matters worse for me. I can't put off the training, so laying off of the training is may not be an option.

Concern about the QF is that, even with practice, when in the real situation, - act like a nervous nelly and drop the bottle or fuck something up - concerns that everyone has, probably.

Stashing can't be any different than a tampon depending on the size bottle, and it would seem that with a temp strip, keeping the QF at 98.9 would be a sure thing. And if temp is the only thing to worry about, why not?

Dropping the fucker all over the floor is the worry. Suppose at that point you just tell the tester - "uh, oops, just dropped the cup", which can believe has happened, as peeing in the little cup is a little bit more difficult for a woman.

Only concern this week is that they ninja at the interview, although they will probably send me someplace. Should be able to buy another week. Thoughts?

Whens your test Sensi? Is it this week along with the training?

Don't know when it will be, but unless they hand over a cup at the interview (unlikely, right?), won't be this week.

Think it will be in 6 days - 3 weeks. By then, will be 40-60 days out!

And yes, training and testing will coincide. Can't get around that unless I want to forgo the training. And don't want to do that. Can lay off for a couple of days b4 the test, with advance notice.

But for chrissakes :wtf:, you would think that by 40-60 days out, with exercise, pure phsyllium fiber (nasty stuff) and dil. it would be OK, but we'll see. Not assuming anything.

Yes, I was going to say as long as you give yourself a couple days or so of rest before the test the exercise will be a big help. It sounds like you'll be doing pretty heavy exercise too, which will speed up your metabolism and help burn fat. (Sounds like by then you might be clean anyway, so laying off on the exercise may help, but not be necessary.) Just keep eating high calorie meals and staying hydrated and you'll be fine (your home testing, so if all else fails grab a qf and practice). Btw lots of fiber isn't terribly necessary, if your regular without the fiber. The main goal of that would be to ensure that any metabolites leaving the body through deficating wouldn't be reabsorbed. I don't know that the amount of metabolites it redirects to your colon would truly be able to increase the performance of your liver too much.

Nice, a light line is still a negative. It is almost never as dark as the control line. If it can be photographed or photo-copied it is a negative. Congrats. How much water did you drink to dilute?

To many circumstances here. Just use the quick fix make sure the temp is right. Have it hidden in your panties. Your good to go. Good Luck

Labs do Not use dip tests. They use equipment with the same sensitivity as dip tests, usually the normal 50ng limit (you'll know by your lab form). Just to put that out there. Only time you'll be getting a dip test is if you are doing a probation test with a po that tests on site.

Not at all what I was saying. If you've quit this long, you've got over a week to go and your testing negative you probably dont need the qf. (Possible waste of 30+ bucks) Keep it in mind, but I'm sure you would feel shitty to have quit over a month to just use a qf.

beware of swab testing because swab testing can and most likely will take place during the interview.

As far as an upper limit I don't know if I'm going to explain this right because we are dealing with non active metabolites and when dealing with pharmacokinetics you are usually dealing with active compounds. Let's start with this. Most of the time a person who smokes 1 joint a day for 5 years is going to have more THC metabolites in their body than someone who smokes the same one joint a day for only one month. But because of something called steady state your going to reach a state where your levels are going to reach a sort of equilibirum. For the levels to change there would have to be a drastic change in "dosage." Let's take the first example the joint a day for a month smoker and the joint a day for 5 years smoker. Add a third smoker, the joint a day for 2 1/2 years. That person's body is goin to be showing levels pretty much the same as the 5 year smoker because they are both at steady state. Take a fourth smoker, a joint a day for 7.5 years, still going to act pretty much the same as the 2 1/2 year and 5 year smoker. See this is hard to explain because the metabolites are non active. If we were talking about a prescription drug that was once a day dosing like many high blood pressure drugs or anti depressants this would be a little easier and some would follow. For those who have ever missed a dose of a prescription drug that was once a day dosing, you probably noticed that you can miss a day without noticing and real change. That's because your body is at steady state. Miss 2 doses of your high blood pressure medicine and you will probably tell.

Let's try to explain some of this another way. Ok, a daily 1 joint a day smoker is said to have a urine level of around 300-700 ng/ml. Let's say you are smoking a lot more than that, maybe 5 joints a day and your levels on the first day of quitting are 3500 ng/ml. Ok, let's give this person a THC half life of 5 days. So we have this:

Day 1: 3500 ng/ml
Day 6: 1750 ng/ml
Day 11: 875 ng/ml
Day 16: 437.5 ng/ml
Day 21: 218.75 ng/ml
Day 26: 109.375 ng/ml
Day 31: 54.6875 ng/ml
Day 36: 27.343 ng/m

So after 16 days you have dropped your level significantly and are now in the urine level range of a one joint a day smoker. Because the way your body eliminates most drugs, big gains are seen quickly because it is getting rid of half the amount every time it completes a half life but as the amount get smaller, the amount eliminated decreases significantly. See look at how much the person above got rid of in just the first 5 days, enough to drop their urine level by 1750 ng/ml. But then later on during days 11-16 these same 5 days only rid the body of enough to drop it by 437.5 ng/ml. So after the first 3 half lifes even though this person has been smoking 5 times as much reefer as the one joint a day smoker, they have almost "caught up" to them in terms of levels. Overall, look at days 1-16 and how much was eliminated but look at the last 20 days and how it was just a fraction of the first 16 days.

Ok, I'm going to stop there and answer questions because I know that all might be confusing because I'm having trouble explaining it but in summary there is no real upper limit but rather a condition called steady state, yes it can take more than 30 days for chronic smokers because their level of metabolites is quite high but big reductions are seen quickly and to remove the last bit of metabolites takes longer than making those huge first reductions.
