Don't grow in yer folks home!!

I know the average age on these forums is probably a bit less than over at icmag or CW and I see some setups or hear folks saying some stuff that makes me believe that they are trying to grow in their folks home and hide it from them.

Knock it off. Kids shouldn't be growing, and by kids I mean folk who are not the head of their household. Your parents can get their property taken from them, they might be sent off to jail, or social services might get involved.

You can't grow anything decent and hide it from your parents. If you're using the right lighting (fluro tubes, mh, hps) they have ballasts that hum when they're on. Plus you need fans and someone's gonna find it strange that there's a fan on inside a closet for 3 monthes. Then you have odor, and when you dry the buds they will stink up the place, the worst time for odor is the harvest.

I ain't nobody's daddy or nothing but it's totally irresponsible and stupid to grow in someone else's house without their approval.

If you really need to get into it, do it outside and off your folks property, so that the only ass on the line is yours.

Although I'm not really in favor of minors smoking too much I'm not naive and dumb and some are mature enough to handle that while maintaining good grades and doing their shit. But possession and cultivation are 2 totally different ball games. Possession is a violation, cultivation (of even a few plants) brings the charge up to Felony status.

Anywho, I'm stepping off the soapbox now. sorry if anyone feels offended, but it's a serious issue.

i agree with you to the fullest extent. i would think they would get caught by the parents before the law gets into it, but either way it not good

i am planing on growing while living with my folks.
but in the garage i live..but i guess that makes no diff 2 yous
but yes there is extremly alot of factor that add 2 such a huge risk
but if i can get hold ova these plans with control..then i think i could pull it off

i will be selling it for extra cash..thats a factor that leds cops onto my trail

I have to agree. If you think you can get away with it, you're wrong, you will get found out. I'm not trying to discourage anyone, but I would seriously weigh the consequences and make sure what ever will happen to you is worth it. Save yourself the the trouble and grow outside! Just my 2 cents. ;)

I really do try to be understanding usually. You hit a really sore spot with me. Seems "agism" is being used here as "rents" rarely know that their kids are growing on their property until they get caught. It is not Your right to use your parents property for illegal purposes. Can you imagine how you would feel if your parents house was confiscated or even worse, having a fire that destroys their house and maybe injuring someone. I didn't start to grow till I was in my own house and it was only myself that was taking the risk. Be smart and do what you know is right.

sugar if your parents know about your growing and its cool, then i guess you should theach them how to grow, so you would have a bigger crop in your house :p

well i would say in your situation, that you have to be EXTRA carefull about growing, its not like if you get in trouble its gonna be you alone, its gonna be your parents as well, so be absolutely discreate.

ok about the hole thing that kids shouldn't smoke and growing in your parints house well first of all i am only 14 and i have been smoking for 3 years. my parints have found out that i was smoking and they got hella mad at me and told me to stop but i didn't they tryed to pull the hole brane cells thing and i just said if it kills brane cells then why do i have like strate A and play football and all that shit to me weed is liek a relaxer ond it comes me down and i have fun when i am hight too but i think that i am responsibal enough to smoke cuz if i can smoke about half an oz and go home and est dinner with my parints and them not be able to know that i am stonded off me ass then i got something going and the shit i smoke is so sticky and smells so good that yah but that is what i have to say even thought i know where you are coming from i have gotten high with some peeps befor and they are so dumb when they are high they should not be able to ever get high agen whell that is what i have to say and with me being so yung i reely dont think any one will give a crap what i have to say adn thats fine if you want to sterotype me cuz that is your own problem but i am going to get off and go smoke my daly J peace and smoke a fatty for me.

and yes I know I'm being a dick about this. But being a chronic smoker (not chronic as in a secondary meaning for weed, chronic as in a time period) at 11? I can understand 16-18.

I know young kids will smoke weed no matter what I say. I know I come off sounding like a parent...one day...so will you. and you'll say it's never gonna happen (like I did 100 times before). I used to get shit in highschool from a lot of kids, I was kind of a "nerd", never skipped class, always handed in assignments, I never got into fights. I don't understand why it's so "uncool" to care about your future, but all the cool kids are stuck in that podunk town pumping gas. Sorry for giving a shit and wanting people I've never met to be successful and to have a lot of options and career choices in their life. Highschool is 4 years, there's a lot more to life.

Sugarmagnolia, if your parents are cool with it then whatever. My post was directed toward folks who's parents don't know. But now you have their lives in your hands, do NOT tell your friends or show them. They'll talk. You have to be responsible for their safety now. If they get busted it's a felony that stays on their record, meaning they have to put it on every single job application, which makes finding a decent job very hard.

well sugar, it looks like you are pretty concrete in what you are doing. please understand us all and how all of us feel. just step back for a minute from yourself and see all of our points of view looking out for the interest of your parents....and yourself. if your parents have made that decision, that is your household and your parent's household. i guess if i was smoking pot at your age and you were my friend who had parents that knew you grew it, i would think you are so lucky and cool. i know i would think that back then :). just remember this moment as you are very lucky. weed is not bad, the gov't makes it sound bad and therefore they come up with the punishments for having or growing it. if we lived in a different country, we would not be having this conversation. hope you have a good harvest. also remember this time in your life so when you are older and you hear of things that kids do, i guess remember you did it too. your opinion may change in time. but enjoy.

id agree with the orriginal post to the most extent, as far as stealth it can and has been done many times, lowodor strains and such. BUT it is still bad, and your parents can be held responsible, which I would hate to have happen concidering..........

i go to a privet school and they are hella good with our ed and we have to have a 4.0 minium gpa and i get stonded to study[for my spelling tests too] and all the kids at my school are dumbasses cuz they are all know i smoke and they tink i am going to kick there ass or some thing and my parints think i am like the most popular kid in school and i am like a loner until i leave school and hang out with all my peeps so if i started smoking a 11 and i still am and i can keep my priorities in line then i think i can smoke all the weed i want.

Well growing is a fun experience, and it will become a hobbie for sure, when i get in the seeds companys pages im like drolling thinking mmmmmm weed (like homer).

But its not fun if you can get in trouble easyly, because youll become paranoic and youll be thinking all the time about that why a cop is watching you and stuff.. + yea you are still to young for your mom to understand that you might be mature enough to do whatever you want.

I think you should take it easy with your idea of growing, and hold on... youll be growing in no time, time flys....

It's not all fun and games having your own place and being able to do allllll the shit you want. Cause you can't really do anything you want. I mean, I could go to bed at 4 in the morning after drinking and smoking all night, but then I'd be too screwed up for work. If I decide to call in sick and just neglect work, I'll get fired and have no money, no rent money means no place to live. It feels like all I ever do now is cook, clean, pay bills and work (actually I'm looking for new work now but for the past few years). And it plain sucks. I sleep much earlier now than in college or highschool cause I have to get up and battle stupid rush hour traffic. Being an adult sucks.

But hey, college was fun while it lasted. My advice is go to college, get an apartment off campus and then do what you want.
For now it's your folks home so it's their rules.

You could still do it outdoors, you don't really have to check on them too often. But you just need to find a place.

Yup grass is always greener on the other side of the fence. As bob kinda made my point. As a kid you have a lot less freedom, but a lot less responsibilities. As an adult you have more freedoms but a helluva lot more responsibilities which end up negating a lot of the freedoms. When you're an old man you have less responsibilities and a lot more freedom (if you have money for retirement) so it seems all good.....but then you are old and broken down so you can't enjoy those freedoms...sigh. So I guess everything sucks lol, we just gotta make the best of it.

And mothers are always moms. I'm outta college, in my own apartment paying my own bills, but does that stop her from telling me what to do? Not a chance. But now I can just nod my head and ignore her rants or if I'm at her place I'll just tell her if she keeps it up I'm gonna leave and go back to my place.

ok i dont take it personaly but i was split up from my parints at like 5 and i had to learn to take care of my self very early in life and that is why i started to smoke cuz i can get away from it all and that does it but i can go with out it for as long as i want when evver i want and for how much i smoke a day i smoke about two jays and a few boles i still go to school and i get farly good grades A,B, and some times C's but i have never tryed any other drugs and i will never try them by the way why do you ask.

total pain, grow commercial outdoors off your property, then you can by a house, not rent a shitty apartment

Oh man, You sound like I did, I never even tried pot until I was 17 Unfortunely it was the last day of school. I know how it is to try to escape from reality... When you are too young you arnt mature enough to understand tons of stuff, from the parents split up, to the mather of smoking pot, or getting shots of heroin (wich i know its not your case).

But sometimes the best is to stand back and just watch the scene... reallity hurts man, and hurts a lot, there is a saying where i live that goes "ignorace is a bliss"... Some people has to live some shit man, but it all depends if you catch that crap wave, or if you just see it going carring all kind of things.

What im trying to say is that drugs are drugs, and weed is one, we like it or not, and if its used with responsability its just awsome, but if not youll depend on it to be happy, so you can dig your head in the dirt...
