Test yesterday FBR someone please read and help!
OK So here's the situation...
Male: Approaching 40
Weight 170
Height 5-11
Last consumed 2 weeks ago.
Amount consumed (1 hit)
Prior history (very light) Clean for at least a month or two, maybe more
Here is my question. Just and a U/I yesterday (pre-employment). I followed the dilution method but went a little lighter than prescribed so as to not come up diluted.
It will be 14 days since consumption til test. On day four or five of last consumption I tested negative on two home tests with first void of the morning. Have had about three more tests since then, all negative. Here's my problem area that I need some advice on.
I have a prescription for Benzos and since this is a 9 panel test I have no doubt those will test positive and be sent for GC/MS confirmation. When they do this, WILL THEY RE-TEST FOR ALL PANELS, or will they just test the one that came up positive. If so, I should be o.k. because I have a doctors prescription.
If not, my second question is, what are the odds of me passing a GC/MS with the different cut off level for the thc? Do you think that I with the dilution and 14 days that this is enough time to get below the 15 ng/ml?
Any help would be appreciated. A lot is at stake here and hate that I am worrying for something as silly as one toke two weeks ago, but none-the-less, I can't help but do so. Opinions are welcome.
I'll post the results when they come back, but in the meantime FBR, anyone have any opinions? I have to wait for the results until next week and this is making my blood pressure shoot up.
Thanks in advance

Prior to that hit two weeks ago, what is your smoking history?
-
Test yesterday FBR someone please read and help!
Quite altogether for about seven years or so. Picked it up about two years ago, but just a hit hear or there (became a lightweight). Last smoke prior to the one two weeks ago was over a month or maybe two prior and was probably only two or three hits at a time once or twice a week, even skipping an entire week hear and there. Is that what you meant?

I bet that you are fine for the lower cutoff.
One hit in your system is very little.

thanks for that. But just to clarify for myself as well as others (since i haven't been able to dig up anything on this). When you test positive for something (anything) and they send it to get a gc/ms, do they test all the substances (panels) again that were on the U/I panel, or just the ones that showed up positive on the U/I?
If they only test the positive, and I passed the tch, does this mean they won't "retest" the thc portion again? Can't believe this question hasn't come up before, or at least I haven't been able to search and find the topic and thus the answer.
Any ideas? and thanks again. Blood pressure slowly lowering itself now.

That question does not come up much because other substances are considered "off topic" and discussion is not allowed.
I don't know the answer to your procedure question, Boobs may...

And FBR, It was recommended to me to ask you the following as you might be the only one that could clarify.
This was my final question:

Thanks Jerry G,
Posted another thread that will hopefully gain a response from FBR if he is around. Seems like a fairly simple question if he is educated to all this. Hope I am not posting in the wrong thread about this. Just trying to get as much info as I can. Sweating this has been a drag. Thanks for your help.

Relax, he's not ignoring you...
He'll respond to your original thread and delete this post....

O.k. Thanks, just a bit anxious. Lot on the line!!!
You have been very helpful calming my nerves a bit.
Peace.

Don't know about your main question either. But I too feel with just 1 hit in the last couple months you're going to fall below the 20ng cutoff on the GC/MS

Thanks Killerweed, But it was one hit two weeks ago. Exactly 14 days from consumption to test. It was only prior to this that I didn't have any for months. Does that change things in your mind?

Oh, and isn't the cutoff for GC/MS 15 and not 20?

Please be patient in the future like Jerry suggested.
Yes, the whole sample will get GC/MS run on it for all 9 drugs of abuse.
The GC/MS confirmation for a 50 ng/ml immunoassay cutoff is 15. There is also the 20 ng/ml cutoff on immunoassay with 10 ng/ml confirmation on GC/MS.
Now read this thread.

If a body is completely clean, a one time high is cleared by most people in about 5 days. You only took one hit.

thanks FBR. Is the cutoff mean they don't test below that? I am confused. 50 on a UI means anything above is positive. On a gc/ms is the standard that anything above 20 is positive? i have heard reports saying it is 15. Please enlighten me as I am trying to do some calculations from these past two weeks to see if it's looking good for me to pass the gc/ms if they test for all substances again regardless of whether they showed up neg or non-neg on the UI (which you said they do). Thanks.

If they are using the 50 ng/ml cutoff on immunoassay then the level they will use on the confirmation GC/MS will be 15 ng/ml. See how I am using the terms cutoff, non negative, and confirmation. Technically, a immunoassay that test for a drug metabolite isn't considered positive, it is non negative then it goes for the confirmation GC/MS. You have to be below 50 ng/ml on immunoassay, not 50 or higher. Probably 95% of THC drug tests use these two values, 50 ng/ml on immunoassay then 15 ng/ml on GC/MS. Now go read the thread again I linked about the 31 metabolites. I don't know how much more I can explain that so if you're still confused maybe someone else can explain it.
The next most common values used are 20 ng/ml on immunoassay cutoff and 10 ng/ml on GC/MS confirmation.
There is also a 100 ng/ml immunassay and I don't know what the confirmation is on GC/MS. This option is out there but hardly ever used, maybe 1 in a thousand.
Most of the time when referring to the test they will refer to them as the 50 and 20 ng/ml cutoff which is talking about the values used in immunoassay, not the GC/MS. So again the corresponding values are 50 and 15, 20 and 10.

Thanks, sorry to be a pest. Just a lot of calculations and I want to make sure I am accurate (if that is possible considering all the variables). You are a wealth of info and my hats off to you for everything you do in this forum. I hope to be able to shortly give you some good results that were from your prior posts and helped me pass. We'll see and until then have a great holiday...

Read the thread about 10 times. Could you please just explain what you mean my this...
"What you probably didn't see is that because immunoassay is looking for 31 metabolites and GC/MS is looking for 1 metabolite, these levels correlate to pretty much the same thing."
Just a little confused. Does this mean that since they are looking for just on metabolite that the odds are about the same as finding the 31 in tin UI at under 50? I get everything else but this one doesn't make sense to me for some reason.

Oh, and do you think the dilution is a help with the gc/ms or does that only help with the UI?

Digdug to be honest u have already taken the test so whether the test comes up positive or not whats done is done and I would'nt worry about it any more.

Joker, I understand and am trying to follow the philosophy as you described. however, on top of that, I am trying to educate myself if this every comes up again. And, I have done a lot of research on this for the last week. There were some questions that what I deemed were the answers were just a little confusing and needed clarification.
Above all this, if someone in need (like I was) reads this post and can glean any help out of it, I feel like myself as well as everyone else who tried to help me out by answering my questions or referring me to other threads that I couldn't find on my own, may be helped also.
I know it appears that I am doing this because of my own insecurity, and that is probably the main motivational factor. But maybe someone else in a similar predicament could benefit from reading the answers to this situation and take appropriate measures to do the right thing. That's all. Thanks again.
