moss or something green

I ran out of rockwool and resorted to soil in coffee cups mixed with some perlite fro about 30 cuttings.
The cups have drainage holes at the bottom and all are in a rubbermaid tub with 2 CFL's. Temps are good (74)and humidity seems to be ok.

There is what looks like moss growing on the top of the soil and I am wondering if this could do damage to these cuttings and/or transfer to the rest of my plants.

Has anyone ever had this happen?
What did you do or what do you suggest?
They seem to be growing fine and healthy but the moss (or fungus) has me concerned.

Any help appreciated as always.

After reading 60 threads from my search, one of them mentioned moss and stopped! Nothing further.

I have never had this problem and want it to go away!

well, I guess no answers today..

Just gonna hafta transplant and hope for the best.

I still don't have one....I've been waiting for someone else to say what it is.

Here are a couple of pics.
The tub (is humid no doubt) but has vent holes cut inot it.
The lights should be fine, CFL's that are appropriate.
24/0 for the last 14days.
I used no domes with the clippings.
Went right from mom to soil with a little powder hormone.
Soil is Parkwood, with some perlite.
They have only been watered once in 14 days and DO have drainage holes at the bottom.
Showing positive growth and new growth looks healthy.

This is NOT my normal method (although it seems to work) and I won't be doing it again, just need to know if this stuff is bad and if it can spread via touch or airborne.

eww. Can you water with h202 to try to kill it. I wouldn't want that growing in my soil.

I'm not sure if the plants would like H202 right now at their size. Not much of an answer I know but I haven't encountered that in my very short time growing.

When I was attempting to clone in soil I had one container that grew moss.

I wasn't sure what to do so I scraped it off the top of soil and kept growing.

You better wait on the experts they probably know the proper procedure, I'm more of a trial and error grower. :D

Keeping the soil in a high humidity environment is most likely why you're seeing so much moss. Once you lower the humidity, you probably won't see as much of it. I've got a cobblestone walkway in my backyard, and I've used garden lime before to kill off the moss. Worked very well, but I agree with Rhizome that it's likely nothing to worry about... especially if it doesn't seem to be harming the plants.

Very pretty. I tried to keep a terrarium for a while but couldn't keep mosses happy. Lucky you! What's your %RH?

oh probably around 80%. there is very poor ventilation.
This was a last minute "fix" to a problem and seems to have done it's job.
The humidity has dropped however the moss keeps growing.

Pretty, yes, what I like to see, no.

The RH has dropped in the last while and seems to be more stable now.

The growth is great for the CFL's that I have in there. They are kicking the snot out of the T5's.
