Teacher Forces Student To Use The Bathroom In A Lunchbox

ORLANDO -- An Orange County student said his teacher made him go to the bathroom in a lunchbox.

Now the boy and his mother want answers.

Quonterius Thomas said Thursday afternoon he asked his Language Arts teacher, Shaneeka Chambers, at Meadowbrook Middle School if he could go to the bathroom.

She said he only had two options -- wait until the end of class or go to the bathroom in his lunchbox.

Quonterius' mother, Shameka Bryant, went to the school Friday morning to confront administrators. Principal Valeria Maxwell told News 13 and Bryant they are investigating the incident.

According to Maxwell, Chambers was not in school Friday because of a teacher's conference.

"Iâ??m very upset and I want this teacher here to come forward and stop hiding, and own up to what she has done," said Bryant.

Bryant said she will be seeking legal counsel to advise her on what she and her son should do next.

Wow. I don't know if the teacher should be in trouble or not. I mean come on, I think when she said, "wait until the end of class or go to the bathroom your lunchbox." it was just a metaphor. As in, "wait until the end of class to go pee".

Who would be stupid enough to be like, "Psh okay" *zip*

I never understood that at school: "Well you should have gone when it was play time! You'll just have to wait"

But....Maybe I wasn't bloody ready then!

They would normally let you go after that though, they just liked to remind you it was better to go at exactly the same time as everyone else.

I never understood the rule that you must raise your hand and ask to go fulfill a bodily need. I mean come on, thats almost as bad as having to ask to breath. And they can deny your request!!! Its messed up.

They should schedule a Shaneeka-Shameka Shamackdown.

I remember elementary school. Some kids have to go in the middle of every single class. It's always the same ones, so annoying.

AAAAnnnnd girls will even do that in high school. Every single day, it's stupid. Except in high school they have to go to do their make-up or to smoke.

That teacher has probably let that kid to the bathroom 1000 times, and asked him 997 times "why didn't you go during break? Class had just started 5 minutes ago"

BTW, have you guys noticed how many kids are idiots today? A girl on a bike almost ran into me yesterday, then fell cuz she oversteered her bike trying to avoid me. She was going as fast as she could taking a corner with no visibility into the parking lot. I'm lucky I was walking and not driving there in parking lot, cuz she would've dented my car.

I don't blame the teacher at all. He/she was probably just trying to make 1 less kid an idiot.

That teacher is a fucking idiot and needs some "Private Justice" delivered to her. Two years ago I had a problem with a substitute teacher that was at my kids school for a few weeks only she decided she had the balls to tape my son and two girls to their chairs cause she said "They kept moving around". Needless to say when I found out I was pissed so I went to the school to meet with the principal and the teacher, little did I know the other two parents were there too. Anyway we sit down and she starts telling what happened and while shes talking about taping them, I whip out a roll of duct tape and slammed it on the table and when I did all conversation ceased and you could hear a pin drop in that room. Now all eyes are on me. So I asked the lady "How would you like me to come across this table and tape you to that chair?, Would you like that?". She then looks at the principal to answer, and I raised my voice this time and said "What are you looking at him to answer for you for? Answer the damn question"!. Her response was "No, I wouldnt like it". So I ask her "Well do you think my son enjoyed it?" I told her I didnt believe her and I got up, grabbed the tape and headed towards her. I wish I had a camera to get her expression on her face. it was sheer terror :wtf:. In the process of getting up to get to her my girl grabs me, pushing me back and I told that teacher "If you ever touch my kids again I'm comin back with this tape and Im gonna bind you to that chair and roll you off the that fucking roof over there (i was pointing out the window at a high roof of the school), do you understand me? Her response was "Yes". So I ask her again, "Are you sure you understand?, Cause I got no problem doing it right now if its gonna save me a trip back up here. Her reply was "Yes, I understand". Funny thing about it, even the principal was scared to say anything cause he knows me and he knew that if he did he was gonna have a very bad day going off the roof too. I think I made my point to her and I think she understood cause its never happened again. There are three rules that I have. Some of the not so good memories I have from school are of sitting in a stuffy room in the afternoon, bored out of my head, and nursing a slight headache I had as a result of dehydration. I don't know where this bullshit comes from that children shouldn't be allowed to drink in the class room, I expect some wicked head mistress made it up day to try to put and end to children constantly disrupting lessons by wanting to go to the toilet all the time.

My second teacher was a bitter old cow, and one time told me during morning break when I feeling quite parched that I had to wait until afternoon to buy a carton of orange pop, so I had to wait a further two hours before I could quench my thirst.

Frequent requests to go to the bathroom may be an indication that children have a medical problem, either chronic or temporary.

Teachers didn't understand this years ago, and still seem to be unwilling to acknowledge it. Maybe giving them a strong dose of laxatives and locking them in the classroom overnight, without access to a bathroom, would teach them a lesson.

If it's an ongoing problem at home, the parents should have the condition diagnosed and inform the school about it.

ROTFLOL...it wasnt funny at the time but when I look back on it, its funny as hell. I will never ever forget the look on her face, she was way past disturbed and completely lost for words by what was said. I think everybody in that room was. Hey Im sorry but I have a real soft spot for kids, she needed to be taught a lesson not to fuck with them. Kids are precious, sometimes a little nervewrecking, but thats a part of being a kid.:)

When I read your original post my jaw just DROPPED. That bitch needs to not be allowed to work as a sub at anything less than the high school level ever again, IF THAT. Young kids are still in that stage where the teacher is always right- treating them in a way that amounts to emotional abuse and borders on physical abuse is just absolutely horrible.
There is not a formal certification for subs in my state; I used to work as one myself and the only requirement was a high school diploma or equivalent and a pulse. I walked into the main office and was hired on the spot and given a classroom THE NEXT DAY with no training. All you need is good common sense, and if you have a special area of expertise, they'll put you in a classroom that would benefit from it. I always found myself teaching the science classes- Bio, Chem, Earth Science, Physics.

Anyway, you don't necessarily NEED training or certification to just follow instructions that the regular classroom teacher has left- But my point is that substitute teachers SHOULD be required to register and show a photo ID with a reg # that follows them around so that when a teacher goes to apply for a job, the prospective employer can search to find if any complaints were lodged in the past. Because if that psycho [word I rarely use and can't use on this board] ever came NEAR a child of mine I'd be apeshit.

I have had this argument with my kid's school as well. Luckily, the Superintendent was on my side of the argument.

My kids all have standing orders from me that if a teacher tells them they can't go to the bathroom, just leave and then when finished head to the office and give me a call. I will continue the conversation for them with teachers, principals, superintendents, school boards and attorneys if need be.

The kid was being a smart ass and pissed in his lunch box for laughs so all his friends thought he was cool. He told his mother and she took it to another level because its her little kid. Now the little kid is playing off on a feel sorry for me act. Smart kid killed to birds with one stone. Got rid of his teacher he hated and now hes the king of the school.

Case closed. Who wants an argument?

And to force to to physically force someone into doing something, I doubt she got it out for him. He killed three birds with one stone in that case.

I agree, and his mother probably couldn't resist the idea that a nice lawsuit could come out of this.

Maybe not the smartest call on the teachers part, but give her some credit she has to try to control stupid little kids all day.

I think the teacher may have been slightly out-of-line telling the kid to use the lunchbox. I know she was just being a smart-ass, and didn't mean he should literally piss in the lunchbox, but some kids aren't exactly the brightest crayons on the box... and will sometimes do exactly as grown-ups say, regardless of how inane the request may be. Some kids just don't have a whole lot of sense, and then there are others who deliberately do dumb things to get a rise out of their classmates. I think both of these scenarios apply to the kid in question here.

Still, as anyone who actually has kids knows, when they gotta pee, they gotta pee! The teacher should have asked the kid to wait until she was finished with her lesson, or something along those lines, instead of reacting the way she did.

this one time, at band camp...

first i would like to point out that the kid is in middle school in my neck of the woods we used to call that junior high school, and it was a language arts class. so that means he was not a little kid and should have known better than to piss in his lunch box

second the story title is "teacher FORCES kid to go to bathroom in his lunchbox" from what i read she said he could wait till the end of class OR use his lunch box. i dont see any force here.

now lets put this scenario in: class ends at say 1 pm the time was 12:55 pm and she was just saying wait cause you only got 5 min till end of class. so it is redundent for you to leave now just to go when you been holdin it for almost an hour anyway.

sounds more like to me the kid was just bein a smart ass. now thats not to say i would not be against this if she was to have physicaly forced him to piss in his lunch box that would be totaly wrong. but lets see what the whole story is before condmeing a teacher for somethin that shouldnt have been a big deal if the kid would have waited a few more minutes.

i also agree with the thing with he should have just got up and left then let his parents and the principle go from there. and if this were my kids class i would want public indecency charges filed on the kid for whippin his dick out in front of my daughter.

Dave is hillarious. He's a very smart and funny guy. I may never forgive him for ducking out on his Comedy Central contract and leaving me nothing but reruns (well, maybe I will --- he must have had some kind of reason).

I like all the sketches he puts together, but I really liked the Charlie Murphy True Hollywood Stories where Charlie Murphy tells some kind of crazy-assed story, and Dave plays the character of whatever the particular "star" happens to be in the story. The one with Charlie Murphy playing hoops with Prince, and Dave in the role of Prince in the story were hillarious. But the best were the ones with Rick James! Dave plays Rick James in all these different stories of Charlie Murphy kicking Rick James' ass for different things. And they have Rick James telling his side of the story, and he is totally out of it. Genius!

If you see Dave, tell him he is great (and he owes me a season)!

I remember a guy (kid), in 2nd grade, came back from the bathroom (and he was a jokester) with a big grin on his face, looked at the classroom with his index fingers pointed up, in the air, about shoulder-width apart, and said, "I just pooped that big. I clogged up the toilet. I can't believe it."

Ha, ofcourse i've seen that sketch, i'm not living under a rock.
