Very low end light for growing. The one element you have to be very careful with is heat, produced by the light. Put your hand under the light and measure how far away it is to be comftorably warm. Then use that distance for your plant. Unless your mixing sun with this artificial light you will see a lot slower growth, and in about a month any incandescent light will be practically useless for producing any buds or significant growth.
wats incandescent light? on tha box of this on light it says halogen. this light is only for one plant also. is it still not good enough?
Wow Be carefull with that halogen. they get REALLY hot and can start fires.
ohyea, i just found out so i had to change it back.
wat about salvyian light bulbs?
NO you cannot use halogens to grow, wrong spectrum, too much heat, you can't use incandescents either. Fluros, metal halide and high pressure sodium are the only way to go. No to mercury vapor too.
DITTO
Ahem! Mercury vapor works fine. I've done it and while it is NOT as good as MH or HPS it is far better than halogen, the MV also has UVB spectrum that no other HID has, and UVB produces more THC ;)
about how much does mv run for only one plant?
sylvania is good if under 2 feet(clones n seedlings)...watch for streatching due ta heat.. use small smokers fan for circulatuion.

Here you go NODIE, I made a few posts on this subject in that thread.
MV are a waste of time and money.Just because you might get some scrawny bud doesnt mean you should bother.Do it right the first time.-usdi Agaluga
