Is there something wrong with this plant?
The seed germinated in mid November. The plant is currently 4 inches tall. The lower leaves are softer, slightly deformed, weak, brownish but WITHOUT yellow spots - the colour change is gradual. The top leaves have adopted a strange curved-outwards form..
I also think it is growing too slow, but I don't understand anything anymore...
Do you have any advice?
A 4" 3 month old plant is having problems for sure. Looks too dry to me and that post is way to big at this point.
Need more info though.

something is definitely wrong. What is your soil PH run off also what type of soil are you using?
I had similar issues and it ended up being a combination of those two things, Once I got everything in check and planted new seeds they took off like beasts.

i have had this problem a few times adjust your feed and watering and try folar feeding
Well, I don't know anything about PH and I bought the soil in a store, it came in a bag. I have a plate under the pot and I never let it dry out, but I don't put water directly on the soil anymore, nor do I spray the plant with water anymore.
I once had another plant and I sprayed it with water and it fell over with the impact of the spray and died. Very sad.
As to lighting, I have two lamps above the plant. When I am awake the plant has light, I turn the lights off when I go to sleep.
I don't want to "maximize the production values" or to "optimize plant flowering" - I just want to make sure the plant doesn't die.
Do you need any more info? Maybe more pictures?

OH! I forgot one thing...
My room temperature has been, for the entire life of the plant, around 50-60 degrees - does this have any influence on the current state of the plant?
it takes effort to grow a plant. you have to make sure your plants are on a consistent time schedule, you need to give them nutrients and yes it has to be warmer. put it in a cabinet or something.
Yes, that temperature is WAY too low and will contribute to soil pH problems too. In fact, you have inadvertently accomplished something that is usually a bit difficult- putting a plant in a dormant condition over a long period of time. If you had been watering on a 'normal' schedule, that plant would have died AGES ago.
Get your room temerature up over 70 degrees, and gradually start feeding it a proper grow fertilizer.

heres what i do when i first start folar feeding i take a metal clothes hanger cut it into strips long enough to bend to make a brace then i take said clothes hanger insert into soil(after i know which way the plant will lean) that will work as a brace...now if the plants about knee high you can just straighten out a clothes hanger put into soil and carefully tie the plant loosely but tight enough to hold...i use yarn...it always pays to have a wife around....
i dont mean to sound cruel, but id suggest chucking that plant and trying another seed or 2.
at its age and size, its probably got genetic issues as well as problems in your care for it. also, itll be likely to hermi in its conditions.
get some proper supplies, do a little reading, and try again. a healthy seedling will reach 4 inches within 2 weeks of planting, so you wont lose much
Sadly, hybridlove is probably right that that plant is damaged on a level far beyond just its appearance and slow growth. Chalk that one up to experience!
better luck next time man! Id suggest looking around online for some high quality seeds for your next grow.
just make sure you water them moderately, letting them dry slightly between, use at least 60w of CFL or MH light per plant, and read other grow logs across the site!
Well, I have placed her inside a confined space with a radiator warming up the spot - don't worry, it's perfectly safe... I will try to make her lighting days more regular and I will keep staring at her for long periods of time, so that she knows I love her!
I'm not giving up on her! :D
Thats very brave but you are probably wasting your time on that plant and what you refer to as a her, might yet turn out to be a him and you won't know this for another couple of months, even if you do manage to put life back into it!
So you might end up raising a genetically fucked up male plant for half of a year, and even if female you will be lucky to produce much to smoke due to its very stressful life.
In 3 months, indoors, a plant should have gone from seedling to fully harvested 4ft tall plant with a 1 inch stem thickness, with loads of sticky buds all over the plant, some of them the size of your fist.
Yours has grown 4 inches and if the leaves are this deformed, imagine what the buds will be.
If you do things correctly, you could have a new plant from seed, exactly the same size as your current plant, in 4 weeks at the most.
You are all very nice and i do believe in what you say - the probabilities of her surviving are very low. However, things might change. As to being male or female, since I can't know for sure, I have to have faith.
She looks more peaceful now that a slow hot wind is blowing in her direction for 6 her 12 hour lighting day.
Here are the photos of her new spot. Since the plant is kind of dancing to the warm breeze of the radiator, the pictures might appear a bit shaky.
Is there light some CFL of normal light ?
This plant really be bigger if it's been a few weeks in this state, maybe you're not giving it enough light !
What is your cycle ? 16/8 - 18/4 - 24/0 ?
I guess you can try to give it a 24/0 for a while just to get back the time lost before without the good temp.
could be worse. I wasted 4 months before I was finally able to learn from my errors and able to keep a plant alive up to the point to where it was mature enough to be sexed.Quote:

You'll get there, everyone always says "It's just a weed... you don't need to do much to it." and they're all right but you have to gain a knowledge base for when problems do start arising.

I don't know what kind of lights they are - they are what we call "economic lightbulbs", they do not generate much heat, consume less electricity and emit what seems to be a whiter light than regular light bulbs.
I will follow Lucy Fern's advice and put the plant on a 24/0 cycle. I hope I can sleep with the lights on :D
by the sounds of it those are CFL bulbs, which is good.
Well... A long time as passed and I sure am happy I didn't "chalk it up to experience" ;)
When the lower leaves died, I cut them off with a little knife and slowly the plant has become more.. dense?

Wow! First off, congrats on keepin it alive that long. It still looks like it is doing the re-veg thing, but all I can say is... wow. It's pretty stunty, like a Bonsai. Often you'll see that with plants that were severely stressed when young- they never grow to normal size, or take a LONG time to recover.
Your soil looks really dense there. Next plant, use a soil lightener- perlite- for drainage and aeration.

so it is a female and UR gunna wanna let her flower for around 6-14 weeks give or take. that is what I was told to do with my plants when I started growing marry jane years ago. and it seens to work well for me.
It will also give ur buds time to grow bigger and get fully ripe.
but u'll have to keep it as healthy as u can all the way till harvest.

Well done mate. And it is a female! Tell us how it smokes.
Almost the same as what happened to mine, well not as severe. But I had one CFL to begin with, occasionally two when someone wasn't using the other lamp lol. And Put it on the window when there was good sunlight. Even though it's winter we get sunlight a fair bit.
I upgraded to three CFL's and you wouldn't believe how well it's grown. In the first 2-3 weeks it was basically the first two leave things plus the first two actual leaves VERY small. It just stayed like this for the entire 2nd and 3rd week. When I added the extra lights it grew 2 extra sets of leaves in 2-3 days! So happy.
Congrats on your bonsai bud. I'm hoping to have a small plant also but with more foliage lol. I don't mind the leaves! Good mild smoke....
So that plant is nearly 8 months old? JohnDoe1987 must be the most patient person ever known to exist.
you should buy a timer... from what I've read you're turning the lights on and off manually... you can maintain the veg process 24 hrs ( i usually keep them 18-6 ) and then switch timer to 12-12 and viola!!! flower time!
Did not notice that! Good call. You are stressing the plant with irregular photoperiod and until you can stabilize that, it will never produce bud correctly.Quote:

I had a plant that started to look like that 3 weeks into flowering. It started growing those same 3-leaf combinations. It turned out to be a hermi. I would watch out for that. but i might be wrong on my little 3 leaf assumption.
looks like a heat or water problem, PH and nutrient problems usually have color on the leaves
