New and have some questions
I just found this site and am hoping you veterens can give me some insite on my first grow. I got this plant and its a female but I only grew one with one seed...it was kind of like a experiment to see if it would grow. Well it is and It has been goin since october. Ill post some pics and see what you guys think...I have been lookin at other plant pics to see how mine compares and it really doesn't which has me wondering I guess. I have one light and thats all I have been using the whole grow...its also on a timer....it gets 14 hours of light everyday. If you could let me know how to better the situation.

hi and welcome:) yer light schedule is odd ,for vegative lighting schedules try keeping them on no less than 16hrs if u want them to flower and bud keep them lit no more than 12hrs and there dark period must be very dark and uninterupted.ide say your plant is ready to bud now.also give her a couple more lts and a little fan action is good 2 ;) good luck and happy smoking.and remember loose lips sink ships:rastasmoke:

Hey thanks for the suggestions! I'll run to wally world and pick up some shades and bulbs...any suggestions on the bulbs the one I got has seem to done pretty good so far so I might just get the same one or two. I'll reduce the amount of time it gets light I got a timer its on so that makes it pretty handy. And one more thing...Id like for it not to get any taller but Im affraid to bend it, any suggestions? Thanks again and I'll keep ya posted

The plants go into a huge growth spurt when you induce flower.
Are you feeding it anything? What kind of light is that?
-
New and have some questions
yeah I feed it miracle gro plant food...one jug with food next without. The light is an energy save 40w light bulb bought from walmart

ok, do this, go to wally's, get 2 warm, and 2 cool cfl's, warm for flowering, cool to reduce the huge amount of stretch your going to see during flowering. have you had a fan on it? checking ph? SLOWLY, tie it down a little at a time, start at the top, pulling the top down until the plant is slightly bent over (not enough pressure to break stalk though) you could probably go 6-8 inches the first time, then half of that the second tie down, not super tight, but to where you think is comfortable. wait a few days, tie it down a little more, repeat process if needed. btw, place the lights around the mid section of the plant (1 cool 1 warm on one side, same on the other) and if that's an incandescent bulb you have going now, replace it with yet ANOTHER warm cfl. i'm sure you can find better advice then that, but that's my :twocents:

New and have some questions
and when you buy the cfl's, keep them within about 2-4 inches of the plant.
-
New and have some questions
the lighting is one of those energy smart its a 42w but equivalent to 150w but thats what I have been using...as to being new to this growing thing wtf is a cfl? haha anyways yeah i'll try tying it down that way and hopfully it slows the bitch down. and no I havnt had a fan on it...would does the fan take part in? and no checking of the ph...this has just been about as a basic as it can get haha. suprised the hell out of me to find it was a female. thanks alot and keep em comin

Nice looking plant for only using one bulb!

CFL-Compact Fluorescent Lamp. Spiral shaped, you'll see them wherever you see light bulbs. Fan's help in strengthening the stalk and for air circulation in the closet

New and have some questions
oh ok well than thats what i have been using. I just picked up two more. Tied the plant down and we'll see what happens. I hate to see the ol girl tied down like that.

New and have some questions
one more thing as i look more and more pictures of plants mine looks like a god damn tree? its not tight like other plants i have seen. seriously it looks like im growing a damn maple tree in my closet haha (it really isn't though) any ideas why this is?
-
New and have some questions
Looks like a tree alright. Doesn't lok like it has streached that much you could definatly lower you light a little bit to about2-3" away from the plant. If you add those cfls make sure that two of them have the color temp spectrum of 2700k for flowring and 6500k for veg.
You should probably add 1-6500k and 3-2700k and turn it to 12/12:flowering. Make sure you don't look at it when the lights are off due to the fact you will shock it.
Also.....how long has the plant been growing?
-
New and have some questions
the reason you have such a bad stretch is b/c of lack of light/lumens. for a plant to stay short and stout, there are a number of thing's you have to do. ONE: MORE LIGHT!, the more lumen output each light has, the closer the internodes will be, hence shorter and stockier. TWO: Lower your lights. THREE: A FAN, fan's tear the fiberous tissue in the plants stalk thus building more tissue on top of the torn tissue creating a sturdy, healthier stalk. Moral of the story, PLANTS CAN'T HAVE ENOUGH LIGHT! GET MORE!

She has been growin since october! takin an awful long time. I just bought two more 2700k's and now I have 3 on the bitch. I have to run back to wally and get a little fan and 6500k bulb. I tied it down a little and turned the timer to a 12/12. I'll wait a few days and post some pics. Thanks for the pointers and i'll be sure to keep you guys posted happy tokin:jointsmile:

they didn't have 6500k so i got a 6200. all hooked up and ready to go. we'll see in a couple days hows things look
-
New and have some questions
you probably won't notice anything for about a week, be patient, she's just getting used to all this bright new light and being tied down. she's going to love it though!
-
New and have some questions
The 6200k is fine and might even be better than 6500k. Post some up to date pics so we can see how your setup is going.
Are you feeding nutes?
How far did you tie it down?
-
New and have some questions
hey dizzanknessD, how did they respond to all the stress the other day? any updates?
-
New and have some questions
well its not dieing so there one step forward and all the leaves and branches are turing upwards towards the light. the bad thing is that it looks like some of the hairs are turning brown and aren't healthy? Im gonna go take some pics and i'll be back in a min with them...just to for warn you the setup is about as getto as it can get hahaha.
-
New and have some questions
yeah i have been feeding it miracle gro plant food and here are pics i just took let me know how it looks and changes i should make

New and have some questions
Get those lights lower, to within about 2" of the plant. Trust me, she'll dig it:thumbsup: WHOA, you really got er' tied down there, don't ya:wtf:

New and have some questions
all of the lights? I just took the one off the floor and hung it above the plant. Its hard to get the lights so closier becasue some of the leaves are touching the bulbs but I think i got them to where they should be. How bout the hairs are they dying? I took it out of a closet and put in my bedroom closet with slotted doors so it doesn't get so warm in there and so the air circulatates a little more. I want to see some buds on this thing and I hope its not to late. its been growing for ever it seems and until i found this site i thought i was doing good haha.
-
New and have some questions
hopefully the thing about the hairs is just premature ripening, it should pile on new pistils, give it a lil more time. don't let the plants touch the bulbs, that's no good, just get them close.
-
New and have some questions
Yeah Im hopin she does a great turn around. If not I'll get some new seeds a start this process over

New and have some questions
today looks good, she looks like she is producin some buds now. On the other hand I found a couple leaves with dead spots on them? so I cut them out. All in all she looks pretty lively

Looks like it is loving the new training. Its been about a week and it has shown much improvement. It looks like it is finally flowering. The camera kinda sucks but you can see a little.

New and have some questions
its been about a month since my last post and what a crazy one. when and how can you tell if your plant is hermie? The plant has been through hell and back haha. I was out of town for about a week, not buy choice either and when i got back my plant was just about dead, gave it a drink and it started coming back to life. I wanted to get high so i cut off some lil buds. It got me high but only last a couple hours.
