Flower Better on Night Cycle
what does ur plant see when ur lights are out for 12hrs? do u have white walls? mirrorlike mylar walls? or red walls? blue walls? ---theres got to be some kind of sparkly light reflecting to be like stars and the moon to be what a plant sees which is the suns reflected light anyway---i go red...iv put an infrared 150W lamp on and off every 2 hours during the dark cycle for flowering .It comes on along near the floor not aiming at the plant but enough of the red light reflcts and sparkleshines off the floerescents around and above her just like the moon and stars ...---and it works---so try it....;;;or try using some little sparkley christmas lights ,just like stars right?

I wouldn't do that. Plus the intensity from the stars and moonlight (the sun's light) is too weak for cannabis or any plants to sense. They do not factor towards the growth in any away. There is however a exception to this rule.
-
Flower Better on Night Cycle
neither would I , those stars.. are millions of miles away.. the light we see takes seconds sometimes minutes to travel through deep space and meet our eye.. you want basically no light at all... any light being leaked into your grow area will be enough "star light" for your plant
-
Flower Better on Night Cycle
This is the only exception for moonlight. But don't try to simulate nature, because it is nearly impossible, if any at all.

That light you see from stars has been traveling for far longer than that. From the sun, light takes about 8 minutes to get to earth, next closest stars are about 4 light years away, many of the stars we see have died out long ago and we're just seeing light that was emitted millions or billions of years ago.
Bad idea about the red light. Cannabis photosensitivity is highest to red and far red. Get the red out and go with complete darkness.

Very true.

the 150W infrared lamp is shaded out mostly in the room and only a little bit leaks to the above reflectors for optimal growth like i have proven.

It seems that your technique is providing optimal growth, but in reality, your plants are growing and maturing faster because you have given them 14 hours of light and 10 hours of darkness. This will however, reduce your yield.

well i'l say it so far about a pound on the 1 plant and weeks to go its a better yield than ever to use infrared periods during dark cycle. ---proven awesome yield!
-
Flower Better on Night Cycle
that plant doesn't look like a pounder to me.....can you post a pic of the whole plant so i can see?

Eh, a pound? You have must be over exaggerating. Because most hydroponics systems don't yield a pound per plant, even though it's very possible. Most growers choose to grow thier plants to 3-4 ounces. When a plant grows too big, it has to use more nutrients and spread the resources to support the many bud sites, thus lowering potency. Plus, your setup involves using fluorescents.

Oh yeah, over 70% of the weight is water.

can't really get it all in for a whole plant view---and i'v been lowering the infrared periods to just little spurts---to now---5 weeks is done today so no more infrared at all until the harvest.---

looks nice, but i am still doubtfull you will get a pound off it. it looks to me like like maybe a quarter pound, but it's hard to tell. post some pics when you have harvested and dryed it, then we can see for shure.

i'l post the dryed pics some day///and i'l add that i use a MH FLOWERING GROW BULB underneath the plant aiming up through the plant and back onto it off the flouro reflectors///its an EYE selfballasting growbulb with a high cool spectrum and even a higher warm spectrum.

a pic from the floor with the bulb 2' under the plant///had to move a few things to get this pic///and the plant is 3' and looks small in this pic

great pics.. I have never heard of a lb from one plant growing under flour.. but the plant does look like a BEAST!!! : )
-
Flower Better on Night Cycle
Yeah, you have some very nice looking plants. What week of flowering are you in?
-
Flower Better on Night Cycle
nice idea getting light under the plant, just make shure your reflecting as much of that light up as possable because it would be a shame to waste it.
your in week 5, huh?
-
Flower Better on Night Cycle
yes in the 5th week flowering the 1 plant and the mh has a reflector under it.The buds are frosting up fast

Personally I continue reducing the light time during flowering 15 min/week until I reach 10 hours, because in nature the days continue to grow shorter even after it reaches the magic 12 hour cycle, even though the research doesn't support this. Intellectually I know its wrong but it just seems to work for me.
BTW, Looks like a great plant!!! :D :D

i agree ---i'l even give give her an extra hour of dark once in a while just like a day might be duller and think of a lightning storm going all night on her ---lots of bright light blasts that night maybe 1 night every 2weeks.

hey if the moon's light is to week to have any effict on plants then what about those plants that only flower during i full moon and they only stay bloomed for the night and then they close. not trying to say anything just had that thought to my head you know how it is when you are stoned
-
Flower Better on Night Cycle
Flat white walls and 12/12 works great . I do think reduce light as time goes on is ok .
-
Flower Better on Night Cycle
adding lights right underneath the plants is a great idea....well done BSPECTRAL.....i will do the same with 3 floros i happen to have....this way i hope to strengthen the lower parts that do not get light because of the fan leaves that get in the way.....
-
Flower Better on Night Cycle
hey, BSPECTRAL, can you help me out man? do you have any pics of your lady at the first week into flowering and maybe the second week?can you post em so as to see them and compare with mine? i see some pics around, even yours and don't think that my plants will be finished within 6 weeks time.....if they continue to grow with that rate i will need propably not 6, but, 16 weeks.....fuck....am i missing something?
-
Flower Better on Night Cycle
give them 24hrs light 7 days a week until u put her at 12/12,it cant be done any better than that with whatever lights u have, and different lights are better than just one light.I think i was flowering for 1 week to separate males from girls before i repotted in these pics for u...i only got 1 girl out of seven seeds
-
Flower Better on Night Cycle
how far along is you female? got any more pics?
-
Flower Better on Night Cycle
bspectral, if you don't me asking, i see in your pics, that you use floros. when you have time can you give me a bried description of how many floros you use and what are is the total wattage? thanks
-
Flower Better on Night Cycle
my guess would be around 14 fluoros each 120 cm long of those grolux type......i'm not sure about the wattage though.....36 or 72 watts each....also from what i've read from Bspectrals' posts, he uses a MH as well.....nice setup, like a sunbed created just for plants!

yes full lighting for the colas:light from above, the sides, and from under. The fan leaves got pruned off slowly until gone at about 5weeks 12/12. now past 6weeks 12/12 and they'r big but no pic cause the wife's got the cam.

altogether there is 47850 lumens around the 1 plant.,,,12- mixed -40W flowering flouros and a 160W mh(Eye)
