girlfriend hates weed...help!

ok so we've been going out now for almost 2 years. i didn't really smoke weed when we first started going out. i had smoked but not regularly. now that i'm away at uni i've started smoking a lot more, just because i can and i have a lot of friends in residence that blaze with me. So my girlfriend says she hates it when i smoke because she hates to think i'm making myself stupider. I try and tell her that a lot of things kill brain cells and that smokin some weed isn't that bad but i can't convince her and its hard to argue that weed is a good thing althought i know it does have its postive's but she won't listen. I wouldn't mind that much but she gets so mad at me when i smoke she says she won't break up with me because weed is not worth breaking up for
*phew* but still i don't like having her mad at me.


So i was wondering if anyone else has this problem and what they might have done to work it out or what happened.

and one last question i some times try to hid it from her but when we kiss she can get sents of it from my nose even if i haven't smoked in like 2 days before i see her. Now i was wondering is this just because the smell is in my lungs and theres nothing i can do about it or is it because i have a nice winter cold now and the smoke may be gettin caught to the mucus on my throat?? Is there anything i can do to stop her from smelling it.. i've tried caugh drops but that didn't work :confused:

Any help would be great because i sure don't want to stop smoking weed

dude if she cant respect you for waht u wanna do with ur body as long as its noty harming you liek where u cvould be dangerous to u , then she needs to chill ...... is there anything that she does that u dont agree with ? if so tell her about it and tell her u dont bitch at her that u dont like it that she does it , tell her u respect her decions as for waht she wants to do with her body , so tell her to do the same for u if she really loves you ........ plus it shouldnt matter to her as long as u dont treat her bad when u smoke or n e thing , ya know , sometime womenn try to control u to not do waht they dont want u to do , and guys caan be the same way to their g/f's...its a power thing

dont listen to any moron who wants to give you tips and spells as horrible as this kid. You got 2 options if this girl really wants you to stop. You can either just not be high when your around her. You dont have to hide it from her, its not good to lie to your significant other, but just dont be high around her, or just dump her man. If you think you are going to be a stoner for a while, maybe for like life then maybe its time to find someone more compatible with you and your smoking ways. Lucky for me my girlfriend doesnt care if i smoke, she knows im a stoner, but i dont smoke when i got important shit to do, or if im gonna take her out or something, she smokes with me sometimes, its really nice to have a girlfriend i dont have to hide it from. My ex use to always give me shit, i dated her for 4 years and i had to get rid of her.

I think it does kill Brain cells. I know this one guy who acts so dumn when he is high. Even I can vouch for it. Since I have been smoking, I seem to be less sharp then I used to be.

It's a complete myth man.... sure, while High a lot of people act like dumb fucks... but than there are those of us who are just as intelligent high as we are sober. Some people can't handle their marajuana therefore acting extremely fucking stupid while high.... when i first started toking i was one of them.... but it doesn't kill braincells... that is complete rumor and speculation... and it isn't true.

Tell her she cant possibly know what its doing to you simply off "word of mouth", its all about experience and if she hasnt tried it she obviously cant judge it and therefore cant get up you for it. Who knows she might actually try some and she might even be converted :D

How stupid one acts typically isn't related to the quantity of cells that compose their brain but the general behavioral patterns and relatively little knowledge they've picked up. I think the reason some people act like retards while high is because they try so hard not to look like retards every day but when they're stoned they forget how to do that or just feel more comfortable being their true dumb selves. The fact of the matter is that the claim that cannabis decreases mental abilities is not upheld by any credible scientific research.

If you've been getting less sharp than you used to be, you shouldn't blame it on a plant. It's up to you how to manage your time, and if you spend more of it smoking and less of it reading that's what you can expect.

hey thanks ermitonto i'm going to have to send that link to my gf and see what she says i'm pretty sure she'll still say its damaging to my lungs which i don't think i can argue there..and i don't think killing her is the answer lol i do love her. I'm not at the point were i'll give her up for weed its not that important to me, i'm not an everyday smoker (atleast not yet) but i do smoke 2-3 times a week.


She has tried it and she said she didn't like the way she felt she said she just wanted to go to bed i don't know if thats just the way she reacts or if it was only because it was her first experience...I would ask her to do it again with me but i think that her mind set will be so anit weed that it will just make her high suck again and she will still think its stupid.

that's not cool, and it makes you not want to be around the person. Either she needs to accept you for who you are, or move on, no point in staying around and making you both miserable. Talk to her, tell her this shit, tell her it bothers you and your thinking maybe your not as compatible as you used to be. People change, and you can grow together or apart, but don't cling to something just because it's familiar.

My mrs knew from the start i was a smoker, and respected that and not tried to change me. No saying she likes me doing it because she too "hates" me in a way for smoking it, they all have their reasons. Peaople are all diffrent and will always cross roads at some point, but we always somehow work out a way and just carry on living.

Its going to be difficult but you have to try and make her see eye to eye with you. I dont think lying to her is going to make anything any better in the end.

My bf smoked a few times and decided not to smoke anymore. He never did get high. I smoke everyday and he knows it. He teases me about it if im spazzing. :D He even buys me some weed from time to time. Its cuz I am honest. You can be honest too!!!!!!
