I got a new toy this weekend!!!

I'm so excited. It's the first chainsaw I ever bought myself. I LOVE it! I spent the morning on Saturday out back my friend's place chopping up old busted shipping pallets for my wood stove. That thing is just a sweet piece of equipment. It's got a 14" bar and is really nice and light. Woot. I just wanted to brag.
With any luck, in the fall I will have some real TREES to chop that require a little gas-powered assistance! :D

If I hadnt known you were out looking for a chainsaw earlier I woulda sworn this thread was to promote Enzyte, The original once-daily tablet for Natural Male Enhancement.. pill. LOL

That is pretty badass, I've been tempted to buy a chainsaw but in my current situation I couldn't use it anyway........if my flatmates heard me revvin up a chainsaw they would be scared of me for ever more

Hell yeah stinky, stihl saws rule. I have one, and it just destroys trees. My parents bought land in Colorado so I go up there with them occasionally and help level trees. I can't remember what mine is, like a 360 or something, beats me, too lazy to check.

Nice saw Stinky, I have a 14 incher as well.
Those nice guys from British Telecom supply me with old telegraph poles for the fire you get a real sense of power when ripping them up but then again maybe I'm just strange that way. It is a good earthy feeling after a mornings work to see a nice pile of logs in the shed drying out and looking forward to sitting in front of the fire with a wee dram in hand.

OMG thats the worst song ive ever heard !

I am logger so chainsaws are fun. I have both STIHL's for my chainsaws, 1 is 16Inches for limbing, and my big guy is something like 56 Inches or something, I have to carry it over my shoulder cause its so long it just drags if I hold it by the "handle bars". It doesn't matter what kind of tree, oak, maple, fir, alder, cedar, that chainsaw eats through them all in seconds.

I always love smelling cedar trees I cut down, its my smell sense for nature.

enjoy, just dont hit any rocks or soil or your chain will get dull in a matter of seconds. However wood will never dull a saw.

Yeah I'm watching out on the rocks lol. Luckily up where I'm running it we've got a good foot of snow on the ground still... makes things a little easier.
It's a funny thing driving around in my yuppiemobile (VW station wagon) with ski racks, and a chainsaw on the front seat and the ENTIRE cargo area full to the roof with firewood. That earns some funny looks at the drive-through.
I think next big purchase is gonna be a set of stiffer springs for the ol' girl. lol. Or a pickup. :D

Now you gotta learn how to sharpen it. Thats the hardest part of owning a saw.

I already know how, woot. I learned a basic set of 'saw doctoring' skills when I was studying to be a stringed instrument restorer. Good times.
