PIX HELP! speaker box grow PIX
ok so, i have two speaker boxes approx. 2 feet long 3 high and maybe 12 inches from front to back, my plan is to use one box for veg and one for flowering, im not sure but i am going to gorw them about a foot before i flower, i just want some input and see if others think it is possible, i dont know if the plants are going to have enuff room to grow out too much but they will most likely be tied up inside the box. . .im trying to figure out if its even big enuff for 2 one foot plants to live in this, i plan to have a good vent system and to use carbonated water for extra Co2 im most likely going to be running 2 60 watt cfl daylights thanks for lookingg. . .

Hi
I see no reason you couldn't grow in them.
I will suggest painting the inside white for better light transfer.
Also make sure you got good air flow, pressed wood particals "Partical Board" give off vapors.

plants can live in there .
u said u will use 2 60w cfl . how much lumen have they ?
smart thing to do => on the top of speaker box goes cfl's . under them put glass in square format 2 feet x 12 inches so u will get more vertical space because u will eliminate heat produced by cfl-s.
on side of box where are cfl put one 120 mm pc vent to blow heat out .
On each side of box where are plants put 80 mm pc vent to blow fresh air in .
With glass under cfl-s witch is stopping heat , u can install more
lights .
Watch out on light leaks .
U will probably need to start flowering a little earlier then others .

they are 15oo each im thinking about taking the backs off both speakers and hinging them togather to make it bigger and easier to work in, i gave eight of these bulbs i went all out just incase i broke ne, so if i do succeed in connecting 2 boxes i will run four in them, i just dont know about flowering them, i will pant the inside glossy white once i buy the spray paint? is that good to use??. thanks for the feed back

hehe . . try again !
i have no problem

to connect your 2 boxes together is not so bad idea .
i recommend that u use mylar foil . if u can get mylar then use black-white grow sheet .
usually i would say that u veg them for 2 weeks but u have small space and i don't have experience with early flowering .
but someone else will now about it .

read read read thats what i did
Marijuana
try that ^^
u should be ok flowering in there but id use all six lights when you do
and what are you going to do about the smell?
look into LST (low stress training) ull need to use it
also i read that the added Co2 wont be utilised by the plant unless you have a HID light
:rastasmoke:good luck felow micro grower

get afew more pics of the box to show everyone better pics.
it looks as if you need more drainage in the cups and in the soil. if you dont have any holes in the bottom of the cup just poke afew in there to help the water drain out and help prevent any rotting or disease. and i would recommend using a perlite in the soil to help ariate the soil to bring more air to the roots and help water drain better.
what type of soil and have you used nutes at all, the 1 pic with the 2 baby plants on the left pic seems to have a diseased seedling leaf
using florosecents its good to keep then about 2" or so away

there is a good thread over on icmag regarding a speaker box grow. You may want to look into it for more info and ideas...
-
PIX HELP! speaker box grow PIX
actually its just International Cannagraphic, you need to register to see the pix I think, but you can read the threads without....

Hello Inspecta,
I hope this grow works for you. You can find a bunch of speaker grow threads in various forums around the net if you want to do a little digging. I recommend looking at them before your grow gets much farther along. I'd try running "marijuana forum speaker grow box" through some search engines and see what comes up. I would also check out the places that sell them and try to see how they are designed. So many bits of advice I could give about the grow, where do I start? You are probably going to want more ventilation, spend as much on venting as you do on lighting, I would have separate veg and bloom speakers, I would use a screen in each speaker, I would do hydro, make sure you have veg and bloom wavelength bulbs, I would...???
After taking a look at some speaker grows, see if you can post more specific questions and I'll do my best to help.
PS, if the seeds aren't growing, maybe they need more warmth.

Yes, hydro = hydroponics in weed forums (at least for me).
I didn't mean "wavelength bulbs", I don't think there is such a thing. "Proper wavelength" referes to the proper color. Bluish for vegging and reddish for budding. Color is determined by a temperature scale in Kelvin. So vegging bulbs are around 5700K and budding bulbs are around 2400K. Ask for them by name (eh, actually by number). I talk about it more and have some charts here: http://boards.cannabis.com/indoor-li...cent-info.html
I prefer a screen for most grows, but especially ones that are tight on space. It helps you fill buds into every area where the light is hitting the strongest, instead of letting them have a free for all and not use the light dispersal pattern efficiently. About page 4 and 5 (roughly) of my current grow I talk more about why I think a screen is good: http://boards.cannabis.com/indoor-gr...-training.html

Sounds like she ran out of water. One of mine did that recently. She was looking pretty bad, but came back nicely within 12 hours.

Stealth speakers are the shiz dude. Welcome my friend, welcome to the dark side :) :D :wtf:

the only real advice i can give you with the little experience growing i do have is to go lowryder if you can source it, besides the minimal space they need, they flower earlier then the norm plus seem to get better results with fluo' lights then a conventional strain ,
however this is based on what i beleive , EVERYONE TO THEIR OWN :D

Usually height is not the problem in a speaker grow. Correct me if I'm wrong, but width is usually the concern. You could grow 100% sativas in there without a problem.

Lowryder refers to a line of genetics that incorporates Ruderalis in the plant's genetics. (the third type of weed Indica,Sativa, Ruderalis)
Lowryder strains are usually much smaller, less potent plants, that grow very rapidly and autoflower. Great for beginners and micro growers.
Peace!

I'd like to grow Lowryder2 someday. Too bad you can't clone it.

Aw, Opie don't fret, bro! We could clone that bitch! Lots of tender loving care and some off the chain rooting hormone... and some supa-thrive!
Or is there really some problem with the genetics and cloning? I would assume one would just have to clone before it started flowering...
Peace!

It's much more difficult to clone from something in flower, and Lowryders are for the most part, always in flower. As far as I know, nobody has tried it with any success.

LowRyder and other rudies flower based upon genetic age.
A clone has the same genetic age as its mum.
Therefore, you would not be able to control when all the clones flowered, and you run up against the problem that insufficient root growth, and insufficient time to heal after a major pruning, reduce yield- with LR, you don't have the option of allowing recovery time.
