I'm confused yet excited

So i bought some bomb swag.. probly the best swag i've smoked. So i grabed the few seeds i found in it and planted them. well my plant has already been sexed and its female but im am confused because it looks like it has Indica dom in it.. but then again i dunno. Here are my growing conditions incase it might have a effect on the plant looking like it has indica Dom in it and i also just realized that the leaves are turning purple along with all the stems so i am confused. im growing in my closet and here are the dementions of it 23"W x 68" L x 69 15/16"H. My lighting for seedlings and veg are 3 24" Eco-Lux F20 floresents. 2 of them are Plant and Aqutic F20 and the other one is Sunshine F20 (good in red) and they put out a total of 2,625 Lumes Which should be more then Plenty lumes for my plant. For the budding cycle I'm using 2 70 Watt MH blubs for my budding (which i dunno if its good enough but it worked for me). my nurts are for veg i use Jobes sticks 20-6-6 and for budding i use Shultz's Orchid Bloom. I have a fan mounted in there to help with the air flow. so here are the pics of Ganjaneta. and this is my 4 time growing too so i have the basics down to a T.

yea.. thanks Jack the link was good info for me. but i was wondering does it look like it has indica dom in it becasue its bag seed... and i'm going to order some NL x Mr. Nice G-13 seeds here in the spring. but a shout out on this would be awsome.. thanks again.

I would also be tempted to go with it being indica dom due to the quite broad leaves. However I think maybe better waiting till one of the long term growers pops by before being sure.

k thanks jack.. i really appreciate your help.. im excited because this will be the frist time i got any indica in my plants and im anxious to see what the buds look like but i want to make it bushy since its already 2 1/2 feet tall. i've started to bend my plant.. but this is my frist time bending it.. oh i also have another question.. i want my plant to be tall and bushy so would transplanting them in a bigger pot help me out and how do i transplant form a 2 gallon pot to a 5 gallon if this is the case.

so can anyone help me out please :)

Bending is a good choice you might also want to try pinching the new growth tops. I have found that more effective in stunting the overall vertical height of the plant than topping or FIM which are good options also.

I'm not the best to ask about soil issues as its my first time if no one else pipes in I'll explain how I did it later but there is much better soil folk here than me.

As for if they are indica....I say yes, by the looks of them, and I would transplant them a week or two before you start to flower them.

thanks dylan.. so its pretty much the same bases as when you transplant when you go from seedling to veg?

Every time you transplant, you are concerned with these things:
Soil/Medium- it should be fresh, appropriate to the plant's life stage (for example no blood meal in a soil you want to bloom in, or very very little), and with enough lightener to suit your conditions (more perlite if it is colder in your grow or you have had problems with drainage or root rot in the past).
Pot size relative to plant- about a gallon per foot of main stem is appropriate.
Transplant technique- allow soil to get rather dry, support the stem bewteen your fingers with your palm supporting the dirt, upend pot, smack bottom, whole root ball should slide out. If you don't have a root ball, you're transplanting too early. Prepare soil in the new pot before removing the root ball from the old one.
Watering-in- The first thing you do when the plant is in its new home is to give it a nice watering to settle the soil. Use pH adjusted water with one drop per gallon of superthrive if you have it. This reduces stress and gives it a bit of a boost.

I have in fact used that in the past before we got a good grow shop in town. It's not ideal, so you will want to keep an eye on your pH and watch for def symptoms, but it can be used in emergencies :D
I don't recommend it for a full bloom cycle though. Go for something cannabis-specific. Botanicare, Cornucopia, and Canna nutes have given me good results in the past, and there are many others to choose from. Match the fertilizer to the type of soil you are in. That's a question for the grow shop guy... say what your specific dirt is, and chances are, there's a fert designed for it, lol.

thanks stinky the soil im using is "Perfect Mix All Purpose Potting Soil" that i picked up from Wal-mart for like 2.50 a bag i think. it has Sphagnum peat moss and horticultural perlite in it.. so i dunno if that could help you.. but does wal-mart carry good fertilzers?

I know that dirt. You will want to keep watch on your runoff pH, especially after the first 6 weeks or so. The peat will cause pH to drop over time. A liquid pH test kit is fine for this and pretty cheap.

I've poked around the Hinsdale walmart and found a couple items of note:
Alaska fish fertilizer
SuperThrive
Cheap hi-lo thermometers with %rh reading
Blood and bone meal if you decide to go organic
Oddly, the selections for a heavily organic grow are better than the selections for a chemical-fert grow at wally world. Whudathunkit.
That location has a better than average plant selection for the outdoor garden.

All year unless they sell out. But the hydro shop is open year round and has better selection. I'm not just sayin' that neither. :D
Also if you make it down south (the dirty south, as it were... greenfield... ) the farmers supply has a KILLER selection of grow supplies. You could literally walk in there with nothing and walk out with most of your needs met. I LOVE the manure/humus product as a grow medium.

well i knwo before i put my soil in i put rocks at the bottom of my pot to help with air flow to the roots and i threw in Horse manure in the soil also.

Was it already composted? Is there sawdust clinging to it? Fresh manure of any sort is too hot for plants, especially young ones.
Don't bother with the rocks; the spaces between them clog the first time you water. Perlite mixed evenly throughout the soil is best, and you can drill holes in the SIDES of the pots to add more breathin' potential.

edit, I keep meaning to ask, are you a hunter (guessing by the handle)? Get a deer this year? I keep seeing MONSTERS in the CT river valley.

Oh shit, I didn't even see that! Yeah lose the spikes, they are nothing but potential TROUBLE!!! You can't have that much N in bloom, and they're really harsh as ferts go.

well as far as the Jobes organic sticks go i havent had problems with them yet.... but like i said yet. i use them up until a month untill flowering then i leech the soil 2 times before i put it into blooming. The horse manuer was fresh when i got it but then i let it set for about 4 days then i broke it up and mixed it into my soil. there was still hay clinging to it when i got it from my friends horse farm. As far as hunting i do but not this year. plus i love the way camoflauge looks :) now before when you were talking about greenfeild.. like Greenfeild NH?

oh another thing too.. my plant is almost 2 feet tall right now and im going to put it into flowering when its about 3 1/2ft to 4ft. well with my space i have my cultivation in, i was wondering will my 120W MH bulb (HID is the way to go... but i have a tight budget) will i produce good sized buds off my female? i know before i put it into flowering im going to transplant from my 3 gallon pot to a 5 gallon pot. so dont know if i should let it get bigger then 4 ft to get bigger buds.. but i need the pros for this one.:jointsmile:

i also removed my Jobs Organic Sticks.. just to tkae your advice.. but question.. that i just noticed my soil is already dry and i watered it yester day morning at 7 am and its dry already. i use a about a half gallon to a gallon of water everytime i water and i water every 4 days so that way it has a day to up the resin in the leaves for when its time to havest i can make cannabutter for my breakfast lunch and dinner and a couple of scobbie snacks for my Great Dane... he loves it just as much as i do.. if he dont smoke or eat my leaves, then he get's all mad at me.. ahahahah. so much for my hunting dog. ahahaha

Bad idea. Letting him eat the leaves can physically cause, at the least, an irritated stomach. (the hairs on the leaves are not digestable) And teaching him it's ok to eat the crop you've spent months pampering, isn't very smart in the first place. Also...getting him high is truly frowned uopn, and some even consider it animal abuse. At least you don't put him in a paper bag first...or do you...? :wtf:

About the watering...The larger the plant gets, the more water it uptakes and respirates. Living in the high desert I can water each plant up to a quart and a half daily during late-stage flowering. (3 gallon pots - summertime)

ll he does it on his own.. when i cut my leaves off he eats them on his own.. he doesnt throw up or get sick.. he gets more playful. he knows not to eat my plants but when i trim my buds and stuff he sits and whines and whines so i give him like 2 leaves (perferbly the smaller ones) and i dont get my dog high.. but its kinda hard when he sits on my bed and has his nose up to the bong. i try to stop him.. but he won't. and i give him a leaf or 2 every 4 months or so. and the scobbie snacks are for me :)

plus moving a 200 pound dog off your bed isnt easy either :)

Yeah tell me about it, my bulldog is only 65 pounds and she's STILL a moose. I had problems with my old bully/boxer cross thinking it was okay to eat plants and had to keep her well away from my crops. I even considered hot pepper wax meant to keep deer away, haha!
Nah there's a farm supply in Greenfield MA that's good.
Horse manure is going to be problematic. There's 3 problems:
1- seeds. You may well find grass growing in your pots, lol!
2- pests.
3- Nitrogen too 'available'- fresh manure can easily burn plants. It shoudl be composted very well before use. Sitting in a compost heap that's watered, turned, and even inoculated with compost bacteria for at least a winter is ideal. Then you turn it onto a big BLACK tarp, fold it into a packet, and let it BAKE in hot sun for a couple weeks to kill bugs and pests. For indoor use, the bagged composts are a less troublesome product. Watch your plants for signs of N overdose as the roots reach the manure in those pots and be prepared to flush them really well.

farmer friends have always told me horse manure is the 'hottest' of manures, not used for crops ... :smokin:

thanks guys.. well the other part of my question that hasn't gotten answered yet. for my grow space for my flowering which is 17" L x 24" wide x 48" H (modified my grow room a bit) will my 120w MH blub be good enough on my female?

You've got about the right watts for that space but the wrong type of light. You want a HPS for flowering to optimize bud mass and density.

k.. well i was woundering what if i use my Flo's and my MH would that be just as good? and from what i read some growing grow the whole time under flo's... does this really work?

so i just realized that im getting nasty fert burn (im guessing the horse manure) all over my older leaves and some of the newer one.. i immeditly leeched my soil with 2 gallons of water.. so i dunno how to help pervent it but some help would be nice asap.. because i dont want my little girl going down the drain and dying or my yeild suffering :(

Flos and MH may give you the right # of watts you need, but the spectrum is not correct. Yes, cabinet growers use 'daylight' cfls for flower but if you can afford a HPS go for it... it's most efficient.

Flushing was correct. I'd flush one more time, then give a weak feeding with a bloom nute (since you've got SO much nitrogen already, give it a week or so before feeding a grow nute again).
If you can safely repot into a larger pot with fresh soil and some extra perlite in the new dirt, that's another step to take to save the kiddos. But flushing was key.

thanks you for all your help and your walk through's through-out my jouney so far.. im going to transplant into my bigger pot.. but now my issue with that is the rocks on the bottom of my pot (to help air flow to roots).. will that effect it when i turn the pot upside down if the roots are grown and intertwined with them and give me root damage that will harm my plants. thanks. puff..... puff..... pass to you :smokin:

k well transplanted to a 5 gallon pot no problem.. now when i did it i forgot how big my plant was (2 feet) it got a little bent.. but not broken anywere i made sure to look... well it looks like it went into shock a bit from the trasplant.. so thats normal right and i hope it wont hermie :(
