I was robbed.

I went camping with my family over Christmas. When I got back home I found my house was ransacked. My TV, surround sound system, XBox 360 + 5 games, CD player, CD's, Mac G5, studio monitors, Pioneer CDJ's, Denon mixer, $5000.00 music software, laptop, printer, 2 sets of headphones, 2 watches, sunglasses, ID, passport, all my keys and spare keys, some clothes, all of the door knobs and plumbing fixtures, credit card and bank card, vacuum cleaner, and various appliances were all stolen. I had to destroy my plants that I was growing before the cops came. They didn't steal my light setup for some reason.

I live in a 3rd world country and this is the third time this has happened. I'm seriously considering moving to Canada. I grew up in Canada and could probably get sponsored to live there as my sister and father have Canadian passports. Anyways, the year can only get better right? :o

Yeah, I'm insured but they haven't gotten back to me yet. Hopefully they will pay out. It's just such a pain in the ass to have to get new ID and so on. Ahh well, at least I wasn't home and my dogs were away or it could have been a lot worse. Criminals around here are ruthless and hyped up on meth.

ouch man... just ouch... If my sound gear got stolen I'd flip out and go crazy... Really sorry to hear about your losses. Hopefully insurance pays out, and the rest of your year goes better. But yeah I'd check around on some local shops see if maybe someone tried to pawn your shit. Then have the police confirm it as stolen, so you dont have to buy your shit back if you find some.

the police dont do shit buy a gun and wait make it look like your not home and wait for them to come back is what i would do then i would blast those crack heads. i fuckin despise thieves if i went to jail for killing someone who tryed to steal from my house i would still feel good about it and would do the same over again :jointsmile: not for the stuff stolen but for the pain and suffering and utter disrespect inflicted on the victem, i hope you get them happy hunting :chainsaw:

Hi Chong - Yeah that's a real downer. Used to live in SA and had a similar experience ... but they left the door knobs in my case!!! Unfortunately the best advice for anyone in SA is to leave. It's sad as there are great, good and wonderful people there ...

id rather get mugged than robbed. You know who did it, you had a chance to retaliate, you may have failed but shit just played out the way it did, you never get the chance to confront theives though.
