Nutrient Problem? (with pics)

I am a long time outdoor grower and a very inexperienced indoor grower. I am officially working with 2 sour diesel plants from clones that were started using the water cloning method, Currently I have a small 4'x3' grow room made out of some OSB (particle board),and is sealed using elastomeric paint .I ran a 65w Flourex CFL until I bought a 150w HPS which may have gave my plants a bit of a culture shock, since half the leafs looked brownish in all different spots of the plant. I use 3 gallon sized buckets with organic soil I also use Fox Farm brand fertilizer, I have all the liquid fertilizers they sell for soil including the soluble granular fertilizer which I am very uncomfortable using since some of the NPK numbers are 9-50-10 and I never really used them before.I am including some pictures of my plants at week 5, and I would really appreciate some feedback from all of you in my first attempt to grow indoors.

Wow, an OFFICIAL grow. :D It does appear you have some sort of problem but I'm not a soil grower so can't really say what it is....perhaps ph lockout? That's what I would be thinking if those plants were in my hydro setup.

That's a great link! :jointsmile:If you would've saw the fan leaves before i pruned them off it tottaly showed signs of light bleaching/heat stress. It's almost showing signs of a potassium deficiency which I'm going to treat for on my next feeding. Thanks for the input !

make sure u check ph first as ph lock can appear as nute deficientcy. if u add nutes and they are locked u'll do more harm.

I have wonderful ph I measured the soil yesterday and it was 7. Great looking out, I really appreciate your input on my wonderful adventure.:thumbsup:

You pH is too high. Bring it down to 6.7. That's why you are having problems with micronutrients.
You are showing magnesium deficiency pretty badly, among other things.
Can you get a proper cannabis fert? You will need to adjust your soil pH by flushing and then do a final watering with 1/2 strength grow fert with micronutirents. I also suggest a foliar feed with a 1/2 strength micronutrient supplement like GH micro or algoflash.

I had a similar problem that Stinky helped me out with. Yellow and dry with the edges curling up. It was a combination of Nitrogen burn as well as underwatering. I would suggest, as Stinky said, to flush twice and test your soil with a Pot/Nit/Cal test to see what you need. Go easy on the ferts so that you are not back in the same boat.

My experience is that you are better off under feeding than over feeding. They may grow slower but they will not get burned. Everything new that is introduced needs to be slowly too. When under new lights, when adding fert as well as LST, etc. Too many people rush the process and stress the poor ladies out. Slow and steady winns the race.

BTW, thanks a million StinkyAttic. Blueberries are being LST'd now and are incredibly bushy and greening up nicely! I am used to Sativa strains so the thick leaves are a trip. I flushed and am doing a soil test tonight. They are already incredibly pungent and I only started them on the 10th of Jan!

Cool, it's quite an accomplishment to have a healthy blueberry crop. It's notoriously hard to keep happy!

Like I said I'm a new indoor grower. I feel It's kinda like playing god in a sense. In fact I think I'm doing alot of things wrong,but I also feel I am doing most things right. I would like to invest in a nice ph tester, but unfortunately the only one i have found will not fit into my budget. I only feed the girls once a week with Big Bloom Liquid Plant Food (0.01-0.3-0.7), and every other week I use Grow Big Liquid Plant Food (6-4-4) both totally organic and both Fox Farm brand. When you guys start talking about micro nutrients, I have no clue what you are talking about. Maybe I should stick to the outdoor growing that I'm used to and let the pro's grow indoors.

for micros, u may want to get some SuperThrive.

along with the FF stuff ur using, i also use those and the ST.
I recently started using some foliar sprays as well.

ur doin fine.
flush twice, and back off on the nutes.
its easy to increase nutes , harder to recover after they get fangled.
bring ur ph down a bit like stinky said, stinky is kinda a soil-god, follow stinky's advise.:thumbsup:

Yes, 10th Dec! LOL about that time machine. I was just really stoned when I wrote that.

These seem to be giving the love back and responding really well to LST. I want to move on the SCOG but I am working with bag seed and just crossing my fingers to get a good set of strong ladies out of the batch.

They are still showing light green stripes (not like this though)

UPDATE! : I have done everything everyone has told me to do!

Problem is this awful something keeps attacking my leaves in select spots on both plants.

Here are the pictures of the leaves after I clipped them off.

If anyone cares I commenced the flowering cycle and I will be putting pictures up soon as I can.

first, did u check the "Complete Guide" posted by Weedhound?

I took a quick look thru it cause i coulda swore i saw something like your issue.

I'm thinkin 1 of 3 possibilities-

least likely i think is Nitrogen deficientcy
as seen here

copper deficiency
as seen here

heat stress
as seen here

go check that guide in detail, he's covered just about anything that would ever happen and has also offered to help directly anybody who doesnt see their issue in the guide.
he does require u to be completely informative, so check out the thread.

i printed out that guide months ago.

If you look back on the first few entries I made I talked a little about heat stress/light bleaching which I think may be the culprit.(since I don't have a reflector)

basically, far as i know, if its heat stress, simply move the light a lil higher.
i dont think a reflector makes any difference in that respect.
hold your hand open, palm up at top of the plants. if you 'feel' the heat and cant keep ur hand there for a min or so without feeling the heat, move the lights.

if u move lites too far, worst thing that can happen is they stretch a lil, then readjust.
if they are too close, they fry:(

if all else fails, maybe go post up and let Stitch take a look.

Those last pics show the regular striping that is classig Mg deficiency.
Make up a weak solution of epsom salts, just a pinch in a quart or 1/4 - 1/2 tsp in a gallon, and spray on the leaves.

So stinky I am really happy you just told me that I need to spray the leaves because for some whacked out reason I thought I water the plants with the epsom salts mixture (and I would have)
So do I spray a light mist or a heavy mist,and since i'm starting to flower will that be an issue?

I forgot to comment back on the SUPERthrive I bought for 5$ fit great into my budget(still waiting on the results)!:thumbsup:

As far as temperatures go I done the hand test and it wasn't hot they are about a foot from the light if I had to guess but they weren't hot.

I am so excited about flowering! I just can't believe the smell these girls are putting off in veg, my next goal is to try and eliminate some of the odor (even though I love it)!:jointsmile:

Give a fine, light mist, let dry, repeat the next day.
Superthrive should not be used in flower unless you transplant, in which case you use one drop per gallon and only ONCE.
The tip-burn isn't going to heal but the striping will, adn you should watch your newer growth to be sure the tip scorch does not spread or get worse. But the stripes should start to go away.

i just made one last week.
i made mine longer due to my extreeeeeem paranoia.
i also added an 'in duct booster fan' (6 inch/250 cfm) (also used 4in-6in adapters to connect)to the top of the assembly to push the air into the carbon filter.
cheapest places i found for parts, Home Cheapo for all the hard parts and fan. Wally-world for the carbon, 9 oz jug for 5.60 usd
i used 5-1/2 lil jugs.
total all parts maybe 80-100 usd.
a worth while expense:thumbsup:

all odors are G-O-N-E:thumbsup:

Stinky-
i have used ST thru out the entire life of my Thai clones, u think this may be y i have such slow growth and the crazy yellowing that has left me with zero leaves with about 4 more weeks to go???

(sorry for the hyjack);)

Here are the new pics of week 1 flowering cycle.
Seems there are still some striping in my leaves but the yellowing disappeared after I flushed the soil real good! >Enjoy<
