Flowering the MK Clones from the Cloning Log...
Rather than continue the Cloning Log and dilute the topic, I am posting quick updates on the 4 clones here. Right now they are in their 36 hour dark period, getting ready to enter Flower on Christmas day at 6pm.
I built a small SCROG type of setup, but will not be filling the entire screen. Instead I will use the 2 layer screening to LST them a bit when they stretch, and to support the buds upon maturity.
To check out the Cloning Log there is a link in my sig below. Here are some pics:

I threw this together over a day's time to get them flowering ASAP. I have the Black Domina SCROG going right now and its gonna be at least 2-3 more weeks if not longer until I can flip them to 12/12.
The clones were outgrowing their area so I thought "WTF, might as well throw them into the Hut and flower 'em..."
The Setup:
- PVC structure and screening to support LST and flowering
- 175W HID - running MH in pics, will switch to 150W HPS tomorrow
- running 2 DWC bubblers with 10 in airstones, each on dual feed airpump
- running my Botanicare (organic) nutes as always
- enclosure is a HydroHut Mini 39 in x 39 in x 6.5 ft tall

Very nice set up, love how you did the Screen. Is that soccer goal netting? What is the second pic of?
-
Flowering the MK Clones from the Cloning Log...
Hey JG, the screen is made of good old fashioned baling wire. It is pretty rigid, yet flexible enough to string back and forth to create a netting. It comes wrapped up in an oiled paper to prevent it from rusting, so it is a bit messy to work with. Overall it created a nice net that I decided would be best as 3 inch x 3 inch. Here are some additional pics.
Regarding Pic 2, that is the top and bottom of the PVC frame that I put together ahead of time. You'll notice it in the other pics when you look closely. Most everything else in the frame is just 1/2 inch PVC pipe cut to length.

Ok now I understand. Great Idea, so good it looks professional or even store bought. You need to pattent that one quick.

Flowering the MK Clones from the Cloning Log...
Well, last night at 7pm I changed to a HPS conversion bulb and flipped them to 12/12. In the left side bubbler we have Red and Blackie. In the right side bubbler we have Tootsie and Blondie (they were named after somebody's doggies).
Officially I will now refer to them as Big Red and Tootsie. Here is the nutrient regimen from Noon on 12/23:
Big Red:
3 gal RO water = 11 PPM
+ 2ml/gal Zone = 11 PPM
+ 10 ml/gal EJ Microblast = 175 PPM
+ 8 ml/gal CalMag = 556 PPM
+ 10 ml/gal PBP Bloom = 1086 PPM
+ topped off with RO = 982 PPM, 5.7 PH
Tootsie:
3 gal RO water = 12 PPM
+ 2ml/gal Zone = 12 PPM
+ 10 ml/gal EJ Microblast = 183 PPM
+ 8 ml/gal CalMag = 595 PPM
+ 10 ml/gal PBP Bloom = 1054 PPM
+ topped off with RO = 1015 PPM, 5.8 PH

It looks like you put a boat load of work into everything for those clones. i'll be waiting the 9 weeks out with you. Excited to see the results.

Flowering the MK Clones from the Cloning Log...
Checked them at 930pm and their numbers were:
Big Red: 6.2 PH, 1039 PPM
Tootsie: 6.4 PH, 1082 PPM
Mixed a top-off solution by starting with 1 gallon RO water, added Liquid Karma based on 5 ml for each gal of res. solution (res holds 3 gal = 15 ml total). Then added Sweet based on 5 ml for each gal of res. solution (again, res holds 3 gal = 15 ml total). Topped off both reservoirs and adjusted PH.
Final numbers:
Big Red: 5.8 PH, 998 PPM
Tootsie: 5.8 PH, 1002 PPM
They are starting to stretch a bit for the light, so I am training them under the screen. I expect to do this for maybe 1-2 weeks before letting them run their course and flower.
-
Flowering the MK Clones from the Cloning Log...
Red's bubbler was at 5.2 PH with 1045 PPM
Toot's bubbler was at 5.2 with 1040 PPM.
All I did was I adjusted PH.
Red's bubbler is at 5.9 PH with 1045 PPM
Toot's bubbler is at 5.8 PH with 1040 PPM
-
Flowering the MK Clones from the Cloning Log...
Red's bubbler was at 5.0 PH with 1100 PPM
Toot's bubbler was at 5.2 with 1045 PPM.
Leave tips are starting to curl and brown from nute burn. Added 1 gallon RO water to each and adjusted PH.
Red's bubbler is at 5.8 PH with 870PPM
Toot's bubbler is at 5.7 with 820 PPM
Working on getting some pics either tonight or tomorrow...

Checked them a few minutes ago and they grew over an inch since last night! Had to tuck their lil heads down under the screen again. Here are their stats:
Red (Left bubbler) = 5.4 PH, 827 PPM
Toots (Right bubbler) = 5.7 PH, 828 PPM.
Adjusted Red to 5.7 PH and left them as is from a PPM perspective.
Did I mention that they grew over an inch since last night? :D Oh yeah, some pics below...

Just finished tucking them under again. They are starting to make the transition to flowering it appears since they were filpped to 12/12 a week ago yesterday. New nutes tonight or tomorrow sometime.

Time to go to flower nutes. Did a res change and they are now about 9 days into 12/12 and changed from PBP GROW to PBP BLOOM:
Red (Left Bubbler):
2 gal RO water = 12 PPM
+ 2ml/gal Zone = 12 PPM
+ 10 ml/gal EJ Microblast = 167 PPM
+ 10 ml/gal CalMag = 500 PPM
+ 10 ml/gal PBP Bloom = 882 PPM
+ 5 ml/gal Karma = 980 PPM
---------------------------------
Added Up and Nutes to Res, final numbers:
952 PPM, 5.6 PH, 2.5 gallons in res
Toots (Right Bubbler):
2 gal RO water = 15 PPM
+ 2ml/gal Zone = 15 PPM
+ 10 ml/gal EJ Microblast = 181 PPM
+ 10 ml/gal CalMag = 535 PPM
+ 10 ml/gal PBP Bloom = 892 PPM
+ 5 ml/gal Karma = 962 PPM
---------------------------------
Added Up and Nutes to Res, final numbers:
958 PPM, 5.5 PH, 2.5 gallons in res

Ho Hum,
Not a helluva lot to report 'cept that they are chugging along getting tucked and numbers checked daily. Maybe I'll snap a pic or two without the HPS burning so that y'all can see their pretty little faces. I don't expect anything earthshattering from these gals, but I like a nice Kush and these will finish better than the last one that got nute deficiencies.
I bet I have some nute numbers I can report but it is routine stuff. If anyone wants to see them, post a message. Otherwise they will go unreported since my typinng sucks and it takes me forever.

Flowering the MK Clones from the Cloning Log...
Quick update on the little ladies. They are now 3 weeks into flower and perking up quite nicely. From the 4 clones, I have 9 colas developing that have reached the height of the upper screen.
Nute Numbers:
5.0 gal RO water = 12 PPM
+ 2ml/gal Zone = 12 PPM
+ 10 ml/gal EJ Microblast = 162 PPM
+ 15 ml/gal CalMag = 800 PPM
+ 15 ml/gal PBP Bloom = 1415 PPM
+ 1.0 gal RO water = 1190 PPM
---------------------------------
Added 3 gallons to each res, adjusted PH to 5.8
Here are a few pics from last week showing their growth and the 6x 23W CFLs that I added to increase light intensity. The black things on the upper screen are cable ties (aka zip ties) that I used to piece the screen together from old scrap lying around...

they look very happy! Good work MVP.

Flowering the MK Clones from the Cloning Log...
Checked them and their PH and PPM had moved a bit since the nute change. I noticed that they each drank down over 1/2 gal of water. I adjusted the PH and left PPM alone. Here is where the stand now:
Red (Left bubbler) = 5.8 PH, 1145 PPM
Toots (Right bubbler) = 5.7 PH, 1228 PPM.
Here are photos from an hour ago. They are starting to frost up and look like fine young ladies. They do, however, have 35-40 days to go until they can even THINK of the "H" word...

Last night I flushed the res with FloraKleen and now I'm heading down the home stretch in February. If all proceeds as planned, they will be cut down and drying between 2/19 - 2/26 sometime. They are now on fresh nutes and starting to swell up real nice.
Here are some random pics from last week.....

Yes that is a turkey roasting pan cut in half as a hood for the CFLs. Its purpose is to keep the glare out of my eyes; I don't expect it to reflect light to increase yield. If it happens to then it is purely a bonus...

Not worried about hot spots? I don't know if a cfl could throw a hot spot really.....

Here is what they look like tonight after 8 weeks. The pics are of lower growth as they are easier to photograph. They are nice and swollen with a heavy coating of trichs, and all pistils are a dark rusty color. I see a slight amount of amber on the sugar leaves and started the flushing an hour ago.
I plan to flush following Zandor's routine (found in the Grow FAQs) for 3-4 days and then chop them when I see a little bit more amber show up... even if it means feeding them RO water for a few days. And boy do they smell sweet!!

I LOVE the smell of the MK.....nice and piney. Think I'm going to have to pop another MK seed just to catch up here. :D

Tipped the scale at 56.4 grams of sweet, sticky, smelly Master Kush. Lots of small buds, but high quality.
The HPS I used is actually a 150 Eye conversion bulb for the 175 MH ballast, so I got .373 grams/watt. Not great, but not bad for a side project. My electricity cost $0.15/kwh so the whole thing cost me less than $30 in electricity and maybe $10 in nutes. Electricity would have been ~ $20 but I added 6x 23W CFL a while ago that bumped it up 10 bucks or so...
I did the chop yesterday and a quick dry using my food dehydrator, which regulates temps below 95 F with constant airflow. I set it up on a timed cycle for 2 hours on/2 hours off, and after 24 hours they are now in curing jars. Curing should mellow them in case I decide to fire up a couple of rips down the road.
I'm not worried about the quick dry process as I am gonna use them for cooking.... maybe some MVP Killer Cannabutter!!!

It was an experiment for training and LST. Final Assessment: Not needed.

when i scrog is it a good idea to lst? will it make the clones get very wide when i flower them after about a month or less of flowering? should i just set up the screen and flower them vertically? :rastasmoke:
-
Flowering the MK Clones from the Cloning Log...
LST and SCROG go hand in hand. When a shoot gets above the screen you tuck it under and position it to grow horizontally, thru a different hole in the screen (SCROG). With LST people usually tie the plants down with string, yarn, or twist ties. The only real difference IMO is the screen...

so would it be a better for like 20 clones to be growing horizontally or vertically if flowered early and kept in a closet 4 feet wide by 4 feet long by 6 feet high with many cfl's a t5 and a 400w hps :rastasmoke:
