Grow dankity from seedy bud?

I am aware that the quality of the final product is determined by many, many variables and that it is very possible to grow bud from a bagseed that can be much more potent than the original erb one purchased.

With this in mind, I decided to play it safe by not having seeds mailed to my house and used seeds from local trailer park mids. Very seedy bud, but hey... now I have many seeds.

Anyway, I thought this would be okay and that if done properly, I could produce very potent bud.

Then I read a post by Stinky, saying the correct way to choose seeds is from bud that you really enjoi the high of. Well, I don't particularly enjoi mids or schwag highs, but was under the impression that I could still grow very potent, seedless bud.

I know the bud can still be seedless, but will it not be very potent if grown from very seedy bud?

Being seedy just means that at some point it got pollinated. Depending on wether the gardener was careless (with either nutes, length of flowering, not removing hermies, leaving a male in the flower room, curing...) or if they needed seeds and sold the 'extra' bud, you may end up growing better bud than you purchased. Also some growers only sell the 'secondary' buds, saving the good stuff for themselves.

I started out learning from bagseed many years ago (before seed banks on the internet) and often grew cannabis that was better than the bagseed. Pretty good feat, considdering the only "good" lights, were mercury vapor.

In the long run tho, (after you've practiced with bagseed) It's best to get good genetics so you know that questionable results are not from questionable genetics.

Yes, also I'd say that, Knowing the diff. from indica high and sativa high makes a huge diff in selecting which bud to take seeds from.
Remember that whoever grew the bud your smoken, probably had good seeds to start(if it was good). I've had some reggie that I knew would be spectacular seedless. You could count on atleast double potency going to seedless.
Of course other shwag I've smoked(like the stuff I'm smokin now) would never be considered for my time.

This is the best bagseed I've got so far. One hit and your done. Two hits and thing start spinning. Three hits and goodnight to you. About 3-weeks left on this.

Dark shwagg or light?

Pick out the healthiest and most viable looking seeds and have a go at it, if you're so inclined! I've taken seeds from questionable quality smoke before, and turned them into my own creation. Bear in mind though, I never took any Columbian dirt weed and turned it into an award-winning Blueberry strain. While you can produce something more potent than the original batch, it's not going to be genetically superior in any way. It'll still be the exact same strain that you weren't too sure of when you smoked it. The primary difference being that: you will not have destroyed much of the trichome content by compressing into bricks, you will have ensured that the buds were properly dried/cured, and will have probably provided a better feeding regimen than the original plants were used to. Etcetera ad infinitum.

It will still be the same plant, but you can make sure that it lives up to it's potential. When you're ready, and have some experience under your belt, you should invest in quality genetics and what a difference there is.

My take? Potency is hardwired into the strain. For instance, if your strain has 15% THC, no amount of good growing, harvesting or curing will increase the bud to above 15%. But you can sure mess it up and have it come out less potent. ;)

So the trick is to have your grow specs maximize the potential of the strain you have.

Bagseed is a great way to get your grow dialed in before spending hundreds of dollars on "good" or "designer" strains, but it is a crapshoot. If the bud was pollinated by a male of the same strain or another quality strain, no problem. If it was pollinated because it was grown outside and some hemp pollinated it though, you will be disappointed.

yeah see, I've had some shwagg that knocked my socks off. I've smoked the NL purps and all sorts of high Q varieties when I lived in NH. So I guess what I'm saying is that I have an experienced palette.
Has no one had really good shwagg? Stuff that made you go "wooo, This would be sick if it didn't get pollinated"?
I think like this: if a strain is 15%, then with seeds its 7-8%. It loses potency as the plant diverts more energy to seeds and has completed its "life goal" so dies earlier.

yea im growing bag seed right now indoors and i had some good mid's that i pulled the seeds from and my first havest was amazing.. but this new bagseed i got is growing good, but it almost looks likes it has indica dom in it but i dunno.. the leaves are not skinny like a sativa but fat like a indica and it only has 5 fans on the leaves. im growing in temps of 72 and it gets 67 at night. but here's some pics of my first bagseed plants and ill post some of the pics of my new plants sometime soon if i can find my camrea.

Damn, I will likely be disappointed. Schwag like this is usually around 2-4% potency... The most I can probably expect of this strain with a dialed in grow would be around 8% potency, but without ventilation and fans (micro STEALTH grow, and everything else is pretty much dialed in except the lack of vents/fans) I can probably expect 7-10 grams of 5-6% potency bud.

But seeing as my area has been entirely dry for at least a month due to busts, I cannot be too disappointed with whatever I get.

Yes there is such a thing as good schwagg. It's been years since I've come across any and from what I remember it was more along the lines of some really killer shit, that was old, dry, and seedy as hell. Therefore it was sold as schwagg. Fucked you up real good, burnt up pretty quick and was a major pain in the ass to clean because of the seeds. Can't remember off hand what I used to pay, but I know it was dirt cheap.

Thing is, it was rare. You might get that and then 10 batches of crappy old schwagg in a row before coming across good stuff again.

yea it was some bomb swag.. probly the best swag i've smoked. but just a little more info on my growing conditions incase it might have a effect on the plant looking like it has indica Dom in it and i also just realized that the leaves are turning purple along with all the stems so i am confused. im growing in my closet and here are the dementions of it 23"W x 68" L x 69 15/16"H. M:jointsmile:y lighting for seedlings and veg are 3 24" Eco-Lux F20 floresents. 2 of them are Plant and Aqutic F20 and the other one is Sunshine F20 (good in red) and they put out a total of 2,625 Lumes Which should be more then Plenty lumes for my plant. For the budding cycle I'm using 2 70 Watt MH blubs for my budding (which i dunno if its good enough). my nurts are for veg i use Jobes sticks 20-6-6 and for budding i use Shultz's Orchid Bloom. I have a fan mounted in there to help with the air flow. so if you could help me out then that would be awsome. and ill have pics up with in the next few days or so :bonghit:

hey. I have grown swagg for 10 years or so. and it has alwase come out dank as hell cuz it was seedless bud.

the only time I got seeds in my HG buds was on my last grow cuz there was a hermmie in the flower room.:(:D
so now I have like f1 seeds cuz the hermmie was an indica and she seeded a sativa.

so here are those pics of my bag seed plants that i think have the indica dom in it. on the 3 pic the stems are purple and the tips of the leaves are. these pics are about 5 days old. my plant is 32 days old and theres more purple on the leaves.

sup bro i am new to this site and a soon to be home grower here is my situation i really want to jump in to the grow game and was wondering about growng reggie "swagg" i buy more of it that krypto or dank but i need sum tips about the seeds what good ones look like or what bad ones look like this might sound stupid but i dont care

so will heating it before smokeing it work also, like a 2'nd gen or something ?

just give the babes what they need and ull do just fine. i use 50$ a 1/4 weed for my stuff.with my loving treatment my 1/4s go for 120$ all day and ma peeps r so happy with it:) take care of ur babies dont let umm get seeded and ur time will not be unrewarded.
