how long did u wait before u smoked again?
Cigs or weed? I did both just as soon as I got home from the dentist myself.
Have a good one!
Better off until the hole in your mouth is close... But I did smoke cigs right after the operation, but no weed as I was not getting high in that time... But now that I know the stuff, I'll smoke to kill the pain !
I smoked a couple days after... The pain meds they gave me didn't dull the pain, just made me unaware of it, but pot helped ease the pain :)
My orthodontist played "Happy Together" by the Turtles as I was falling asleep, lol.
Not wisdom teeth; most of my teeth! I was toking about 15 minutes out of the dentist's office- just enough time to get out of town and on the freeway. I hit very gently on the joint. No problems!- Granny:hippy:
I just had a tooth pulled last week. My hubby was giving me "shotgun" hits as soon as I got home. I did no sucking on it. He blew it directly in my mouth. (You gotta be careful of dry socket.)
I got really, really high, then I slept for 12 hours and woke up all better!
I smoked with my friend the day after his wisdom teeth were removed and he smoked and had no troubles. And he wouldn't even drink out of a straw lol.
Man, dry socket SUCKS. I got it a day or so after I got 'em pulled- all 4 sockets, too. That's why I didn't smoke for a while after I got 'em pulled, it hurt to even open my mouth :\
I smoked the night of my surgery. I just made sure that when I inhaled I did it really gently. The reason they tell you not to smoke is because when you suck in there is a slight suction effect that can cause dry sockets. Just be gentle. Thats my advice if you can't wait.
the main thing they worry about when you get your teeth pulled is the bloodclot that forms in the bottom of the hole will dislodge. thats what causes a dry socket. about 5 days or so it should be fine for sure. but in the mean time, what about experiment with cooking the pot instead? no sence smoking and causing a bunch more problems and pain for yourself, when you can stil get high other ways.
i actually remember not smoking for as long as i could be passed out on the pain pills, but that depends on what you get and your tolorence.
it was about a week until i felt comfortable. it depends on how fast you heal, etc.
to each his own.
good luck, its not...fun.:(
oh, and after reading the post above...if you do decide to cook remember to consider eating certain things can be an issue if you are one who swells up. i looked like a chipmunk for a few days. :D
bump
wtf, it said no one read this :p
thanks for the advice guys :D im hoping the holes will close in a week or so (maybe thats when im smoking) its been 4 days and they havent closed yet and i feel healed but when i look in my mouth seeing the holes makes me nervouse to do anything :P
its been almost 3 months since i got mine pulled and i still have some big holes there.i dont know if thats normal or not, so dotn go by that as being healed.
I waited a long time before I smoke weed for fear of dry-socket, but I got so much percocet prescribed, I didn't mind at all.
Don't worry about it Frickr, I had mine out almost ten years ago now and still have slight indentations from the operation. I smoked the day after having them out. The pills they gave me didn't touch the pain so I turned instead to Mary Jane. I was just careful when I hit the pipe and sipped ice water between hits.
or smoke through your nose i did on the first day like 2 hours after mine got taken out. i just left my mouth open, so that there 4 sure wasint any suction from breathing through my nose because the throat connects the nose to ur mouth so try it i did and i got :stoned:
I banged some cottonwool into the holes and toked as if nothing had happened.
They say wait but I've never been very good at listening to medical advice.
But then I am the sort of idiot who doesn't think twice about operating on themselves if the need arises , I have used knives to remove stones embedded in my skin after a bike crash. I guess I believe if someone is going to cause me pain it may as well be me.
