If it snows here, i will try it, and take pictures.
I heard you can get pneumonia from it:confused:
Elaborate? As in did you hear it from some random dude you were smoking with or a doctor kindve a big difference.Quote:

Hmm never tried that but it sounds pretty cool.
Yeah, it's just like an ice catch.Quote:

There is a shitload of snow here in Maine. going to try it right now. heh
Unfortunately the chance of it snowing here is, um, not too high haha, i guess ill have to settle for shaved ice
Not only does ice remove some THC from the smoke, but it can cause walking pnuemonia if you do it often enough or have a weaker immune & repiratory system that can't handle the additional moisture in your lungs.
Stay safe :)
Lol. It does not cause pneumonia. I work with pediatric and regular patients with respiratory problems including pneumonia. It's just like breathing in cold air between drags of a joint outside on a cold morning.
It is no more likely to cause pneumonia than smoking through ice cold water in a bong. Think about it. Old wives tales still abound.
Its times like this when I really hate living in the desert... :(
I love snow-packed bongs. That's one of the real delights of winter.

I just tried it.
^^ LOL! Great vid
Looks like that 'hit the spot' - good work.
Wish it would snow here!
Why do so many people post when they are plain wrong?
cmasfca - im looking in your general direction. These boards are about fact, not mis-information.
snow is a neat idea, but you'll get your smoothest bonghits, by far, using HOT water  ... try it before you disagree ...
I dont know if it was a bad batch of snow, or weird patch of weed or somethin, but ive been packing my icemaster lil sista with balls of snow, and every once in a while, ill get a reallllly bad tasting hit..just coats my tongue with chems lol. N i dunno if its the pollution thats inside teh snow because i live in toronto, or just a coincidence..
Blame Sudbury :DQuote:

I'm guessing any snow around my area wouldnt exactly be the best to use haha!Quote:

Yes you can get sick from it... its called Pleural Effusion, or water in the lungs... water vapor that has sublimed from the snow can collect in your lungs. Makes for a nasty rasping almost asthmatic cough/wheeze and is quite painful.
No worries though, it may last only up to an hour or so.
I've done it before and I really like it. We got a big dump here the other day so I guess I'll have pack one up tonight
My bad guys, I did not know that it was not true. I read over on ........... from a physician that said that. Makes me happy to know that it's safe; I'm going to try it when I go snowboarding :D
check your rep :thumbsup::D:rastasmoke:Quote:

I love ice in my bong. We used nothing but ice from Sonic (an American fast food chain over here in the states) and its like nothing but brittle dime sized hail.... its was awshome.
PEs constitute of at least 500ccs of fluid in the lungs- the tiny amount of vapor entering your lungs from passing through snow is minimal, and is basically like breathing in a steam room, or a heavy fog.Quote:

Minimal amounts- THC itself is only .10% water soluble, so it's not a very large amount. That's not counting the other non-water soluble cannabinoids ect.
So when your smoking through a bong, would you even be able to tell the difference in the high from the loss of that .10%?
Maybe a tiny tiny bit, but I doubt it. The smoke is also passing through the snow/water at a very fast pace, so not much THC is absorbed anyway.
You absolutely would NOT be able to tell any difference. First of all, in order to notice a difference, you'd have to have the THC delivery titrated with the exact same weed in order to know if there really was any difference. Secondly, a bong allows much more smoke to enter your lungs, resulting in a much bigger high anyways, so .1% of THC lost would be absolutely undetectable
Sonic ice is awesome.Quote:

The snow won't remove THC (not any more than the water, as an expert already said above), but that wine mixture someone suggested does, it being alcohol soluable, and wine being anywhere from 8 to 16% ethanol. I'm starting to wonder if that should be viewed as a bad thing though, because of the number of people I've heard mention particularly mellow highs from using wine or spirits in a bong. Does anyone know if the other cannabinoids are more, or less, alcohol soluable, than THC? Cause if the alcohol reduces the THC without reducing the other cannabinoids you'd notice the qualities of those other chemicals more, and the high would be different, if perhaps marginally 'wasteful'.
For those who live in places where it never snows, there are ice shavers and sno-cone making machines that can produce a pile of very finely shaved ice that has many of the properties of snow. making a quantity of this and immediately putting it in the freezer until it's time to spark (or quickly transferring it to a bong), in theory, would be similar to a snow bong. Has anyone tried? Good idea or no?
Well that's reassuring, lol...Quote:
