Guitar Hero

So I've been contemplating buying guitar hero 3 for my ps2.. I've played it a bunch of times and I think it's a pretty cool game. On the other hand, I've been playing real guitar for about 7,8 years, so would buying guitar hero be pointless?

This makes me think of that south park eps where stan and kyle are playing guitar hero. Then stans dad shows up to play the songs they are playing on the game on a real guitar and they call it lame. Frigging hilarious eps if you haven't seen it.

no man ive been playin for 6 years and i just got a guitar hero 3 set. its wikid. great for timing and more than anything fun as fuck

dude...guitar hero is the best game ever created....3 is so much better than the other 2....totally worth it man...seriously....get it

yeah get it, its fun as when your too fucked to play real guitar.
btw, i've found playing guitar actually hinders your ability to play, it just doesnt work like you expect it too.

Guitar hero is sweet because you can actually use real techniques that you use on the guitar like hammer ons and pull offs, so if you've played guitar seriously in the past, guitar hero is a breeze.

I actually just picked up Guitar Hero 3 for the ps2 today. I played it at my friends a few times and made me want to get it. I've been playing real guitar for 5 years and I still consider guitar hero to be pretty fun.

i have gh3 for the ps2 and i keep running into problems with the guitar controller. i even bought a new one and it.s still giving me grief. but yeh, it.s a really awesome game, i.ve been playing guitar for a while and it.s obv not the same as making your own music, but it.s still pretty cool.

Since my thread has been bumped, I shall add that I did indeed buy the game and I played it for about a week without interruption :jointsmile:

i got 3 on 360 and play the SHIT out of it...lol...i played guitar for years, and it did mess me up on easy and medium...but on hard and expert its WAY realistic to a real guitar...you have runs, hammeron and offs, power chords...good shit

We downloaded GH 3 demo on our x box 360 i've never played GH before and it fucking rocks. Totally worth it man.

I've been playing guitar hero about two years now. When I first started playing it was only when I went over to a friend's house. We would go vs. on medium. When I bought the game for myself I jumped right into hard mode and beat it as soon as I could... took maybe a month. Then expert took maybe another two months. In another two months I could 5 star everything on hard and in another three months I could 5 star everything on expert.

Over the last two years I've slowely gotten better and better. And now I'm insanely good at it. This is the best game I ever played in my life. I can 5* Through the Fire and Flames on Expert (not bad for a pot head). And I've never met anyone in RL that can beat me.

I downloaded Guitar Hero: Metallica a few days ago and I've managed to 5 star every song in the game. But its a great set list with some pretty challenging stuff.

I can't recommend this game enough. I'm sure not everyone will like it. But personally, I've never gotten more mileage out of a game.
