Sticky hash, suggestions?
So i soaked my stuff in acetone, filtered it through a coffee filter into glass jar, put on a plate ontop of boiling water, evaped the acetone [to a degree i think is gone] now i got the sticky has oil and my questions are
1. Whats the best what to deal with this oil, its so damn sticky, like how to i make it a smoke able ball the easiest way?
2. How can i be sure that all the acetone is gone, if i smoke it and all the acetone isnt gone completely will it harm me?
This is my first successful [so far] hash oil making batch....excited to get into cooking and hash making

I think acetone extracts too much plant matter. Butane would be better but an extreme fire hazzard. Cold water extraction (bubble bags) is the way to go. BTW, I'm 10 minutes from IUP.

Cold water extraction eh? Care to explain i dont think ive come across that one? Yea im around that area, blaze sometime?
Oh, btw how long is hash shelf life, and can i leave it out in the open or do i have to put it somewhere air tight?

You can do a search on bubble bags but here's a simplified explanation: You drop your leaf in a bucket of water/ice. When it's cold you drop a blender in the bucket and the resin will break off the leaves easily and float to the bottom. This is where the bags come in, they filter the resin from the leaf and you get hash. No chemicals, no fires. Sure we can blaze sometime, no problem.

I think the best way to store the oil would be to mix the oil with some bud that has been ground fine. I would use a small coffee grinder. This would turn the oil into a paste that is easier to handle. If you keep it sealed in the fridge it would last for several months or even a few years.

lol "float to the bottom", i take it you mean sink? lol, so i dunno how id get a blender in a bucket, what if i just put it all my leaves and suck in an actual bender of ice water, blend it up [let it sit for an hour or 2]? Then could i filter it through a coffee filter and let it sit till the water evaps? I dunno how id get bags to stay at the bottom of a bucket if i put a blender into the bucket? I understand the concept but i got questions on the technique. I have my hash on a small metal lid, can i just pop that into a shelf on the fridge and it'll be cool for at least a few weeks then? Yea man lets blaze one up, you can show me how do to this method if you're up to it?

I don't have bags either. If you want to try it on the cheap you don't even need bags. Here's how:
BASIC WATER EXTRACTION
Resin glands can be removed from the cannabis plant by agitating the trim in cold water â?? typically ice cold water or water that has been chilled in a fridge overnight. The trim is placed in a bucket, which is then filled with cold water. The water and trim are swirled and mixed with a wooden spoon or an electric whisk. Let the mixture sit for a few minutes before scooping out the skuff floating on the surface. The remaining liquid is strained through a coffee sieve to collect most of the trichomes, as they won't pass through with the water. Let the coffee sieve dry and you've got excellent grade trichomes extract to use to make hash (how to make hash the right way). The basic idea behind this is that cold water breaks the glands away from the marijuana leaf matter. The glands eventually sink to the bottom of the bucket because they are heavier than water. The bulk cannabis leaf matter should stay afloat and can be easily scooped away.
I bet you could tilt the bucket and use a turkey baster to suck up the resin that collects in the corner. This way your only filtering an ounce or two of water through the coffee filter instead of a gallon.

hello my friend.
acetone is a good tinciture, but the bad part is.... its toxic.
when i make hash oil, i use everclear. you know the stuff that is 190 proof, and you can get it in some grocery stores?
use it.
what you do is, you mix the liquid with the weed, that is to say you mix the everclear with the weed in some jar or something.... then chill it in the fridge till it gets cold.
then stir the weed everclear mixture with a spoon vigorously. you should see the everclear turn green as hell.
when the everclear gets all cloudy.... then you know youve done it. strain out the plant material from the everclear, then simply boil off the everclear until you have a small amount of hash oil.
what i use is those mason jars you can buy in the store. use one jar to mix, and one jar to evaporate.
warning-
when working with a flamable liquid, you dont want to have a problem. try to evaporate it on an electric stove, not a open flame stove.
and also... those mason jars will crack if they are heated too quicky. so heat it slowly then increase heat to get the alcohol boiling.

I made a batch of bubblehash and it made great tasting hash. This is the best way to make stash out of trim. IMHO

i changed from acetone to Isopropyl alcohol and ive attempted the cold water extract method like this
Took big container, mixed cold water/ice/trim and stirred by connecting a spoon to my screw driver like a bit and used that, stirred like 3 different times, lettin it sit for 10 minutes between each stir. Then i took a material kinda like silk screen and ran the liquid through it to another container to get leaves out. This container is currently sittin in the fridge doin it's separation thing. Now im goin to get a hose and syphon the water out til the top level of the hash. This is when i grab my coffee filter and run this bucket trhough it collecting the hash to dry right?

You got the idea. I have a funnel with a screen and did the same thing to get the leaves out. I used a cup to skim off the extra water. After it settled, I ran the hash water through the coffee filter and let it drain. I layed the filter flat on the counter. Then I took a plastic card and scraped the paste onto a piece of dry cardboard. I sped up the drying by placing it on a warm surface. I pinched the dry powder between my fingers and it made a nice little chunk of hash. I'm going to look for some nylon or steel mesh and make a better set-up.

Press lightly to squeeze the water out of it. It should still crumble like wet sand at this point. Then let it dry overnight crumbled on top of the cardboard. Take a bit out and speed dry it if you can't wait. You can press a small amount just using your fingers.

Let me know how it works for you. I think it's kind of funny that you're just around the corner. I'm out, so smoke some for me.
