So i have this reoccurring problem with the last couple grow attempts. I use Earth Juice Grow, Calmag, and Superthrive for veg with 2 tsps of high nitrogen bat guano. I use FFOF soil and I use RO water. I dont have a ph meter but I water them with plain water every other time. Temps are between 69-76. Any advice? :(

You need to know your pH! This is a plain and simple fact, and arguments/excuses aren't going to change that. If you can't afford a pH meter, get a liquid test kit or litmus paper.

You definitely have nuts problem ! How long are your plants in veg?
Maybe you have overfeed them .
Little advice : learn on mistakes that others do ! Knowing your ph is very, very important . For your plants sake , remember that ;)
You said that you don't have ph meter ! Use litmus paper or ph detection fluid . Its not so accurate like meter but will do ok.
Because of lot ferts that u use , i think knowing ph should be on your priority list ( on 1. place ;) ) .
Pot too small.
Soil too dense.
Soil too wet.
High possibility of fert buildup/toxicity.
Flush well with tap water at pH 6.7.
REpot into a gallon sized pot using more perlite in the new soil mix than the previous one. Keep temps between 65 and 80 degrees. Allow soil to get rather dry between waterings.
looks rootbound to me. I ran out of soil between paychecks on my current grow and this happened to one of mine. Didn't get this bad though. It doing great now. First one to show sex as a matter of fact. It's a girl!!!!! (Handing out cigar)
Yea I was thinking pot bound too. I actually just transplanted into these pots about a week ago. Soil may look "too wet" because I just watered them

Should I trash em and start over or are they salvageable? :(
Flush the crap out of those pots with tap water at pH 6.7. Then let them dry out a bit and re-pot them into nice roomy pots.

Don't bother with an EC meter. Those are for hydro growers and nerds.
GH liquid pH indicator is SUPER cheap and is adequate for a small soil grower. Less than $10 a bottle.

Im willing to spend a couple bucks on a meter its just that the closest hydroponic store to me is 2 hours away. I buy my stuff from altgarden.com

What is the temp in the grow room It looks like there could be more than one problem.
Temps about 75-77 now i got a heater in the room. It was in the upper 60s-lower 70s before

It looks like a chemical burn to me, except for the curling which looked like heat? Be careful not to put he heater near the plant, it will dry it out. Did you feed them recently?

I see you are headed in the organic direction. I'd strip down to a SINGLE veg fert, and I'd go with Pure Blend Pro Grow soil formula. When you transplant, use more perlite in the mix to be sure that the soil can dry out well between waterings.
Yea after looking at the Earth Juice bottles I have (Grow, Bloom, Catalyst, Microblast) I notice that they lack a few nutes such as sulfur, calcium, chlorine, copper, selenium, and silicon. I dont know if this is part of my problem. I use 1/2 tsp of superthrive but I dont give that to them every time I feed them. I only use RO water because my tap water leaves the crusty white ring around the top of the soil level. I was debating between Fox Farm and Botanicare nutes for next grow. I read the labels on their websites and it seems like FF has more nutes but Im no expert. O yea the heater is about 8ft away from my veg cab. You guys rule!!!!!!!!! :jointsmile:
rootbound doesn't make your plant look like that. you can grow in most any sized container and do well. all that is affected is the size of the plant and yield. if all nutritional needs are met, then you're good. a good meter for checking ppm is a good idea but not absolutely necessary. you could probably benefit from one, until you get more familiar with your nutes anyway. you can't really go by what's on the bottle. companies make money by selling you their products. i.e. the quicker you use what you have and buy more, the better! a ph meter of some kind is key. a good stand alone fert. is the way to go for beginners. pure blend is a very good all around fert. i think the pro version is for hydro. i use it early on in veg. and i grow in coco. if you're gonna use tap water, let it sit for 24 hours first, to let the chlorine dissipate. earth juice is pretty acidic so i'd let that sit for a good day too to reduce acidity. in soil, feed once a week. in between plain ph'd water. 6.5 ph, is a good place to be.
Houston, we have a problem. Dosage for SuperThrive is 1 drop per gallon. I checked using a liquid of similar viscosity to ST and found that 40 drops made up to 1mL. There are almost 5mL in one teaspoon, so you are using TWO HUNDRED TIMES the recommended dosage. Hence the extremely soft-looking, dull, intensely-green leaves with burnt tips. That last pic is CLASSIC nitrogen toxicity. Look at the dull leaf surfaces and very deep rich intense green color.
The low yellowing and the splotches on it look to me like a combination of a couple things- less light penetrating the canopy (main problem with flourescent grows) plus you seem to have a calcium lockout that's getting fairly bad.
You've gotta get that soil to dry out better between waterings and keep up with your calmag. I would feed with just plain tap water and calmag for now, and give a light foliar (concentrating on lower growth) with your micronutrient at a concentration weaker than the bottle recommends. Try to let it dry out pretty well before shutting the door.

Oh. Stretch. Next time, stick the pots up on something to get them closer to the lights while they are still young so that you can keep them short and fat. I see your nodes are close together though, and the apparent 'stretch' may simply be an illusion caused by the number of lower nodes that have already dropped their leaves.
Ive been waiting till the leaves start to droop to water them. If you look at the pic of inside my veg cab, the plant right in the middle needs watered its leaves are all down to its side
*UPDATE* Ok Stinky... So I went "shopping" a couple days ago and I picked up Fox Farm Grow Big, Tiger Bloom, a bottle of PH up, 2 10x10 sheets of black/white plastic for inside cabinet, new pots for veg and flowering, some more Plant Success, a bottle of Clearex, and last but not least... a PH meter! I got it off ebay $27 with tax and shipping. Hopefully now I can start fixing my problems :)
My new veg pots are 6x6 6 1/2 tall the flowering pots are 9.5x9.5 they are 12 liter pots
