wtf how could that beat cod4 theres no way
Good god how can you think mass effect is a good game??
Everyworld has the same 3 buildings, every dungeon is the same map with just different textures / skins applied, and the system is just like they took KotOR and re-skinned it and threw a different/lack luster story behind it.
just as i thought cod4 won game of the year so sorry bio shock
im an ign man so im gonna wait till there list gets posted up in the new year. bioshock is up there but some things annoy me about the ending and the good and bad mechanics.
true mass effect is similar on the side quests but the main missions are wikid.
cod4 is sick but the 1st player is a bit short.
halo is up there too.
Imo, any game that isn't online shouldn't win game of the year. I vote for COD4
^^ yeah I agree, I dont even play much unless its online anymore, but it happens like right now Im going to San Andreas, or mabey vice city, in any case it would have to be a game of games such as GTA (not that GTA is god, but it is months and years of entertainment) to beat out online.
It is the year of the multi-player ^^. Personally my vote is for Halo 3...but I haven't played COD4 yet.Quote:

COD4 > Halo 3 imo
dunno about single player, i haven't played a single player game, well i don't remember. The point is, online is the only way to play, true competition and you can talk to ppl...
that not true i have played kotor, kotor 2 and tha amazing jade empire. but kotor 2 wasnt nearly as good owing to obsiden making it not bioware.Quote:

the game isnt a reskinning either as they built a completely new engine for the game, that is being published by microsoft.
EA just bought Bioware....Mass Effect was not effected in the slightest by any influence of theirs. ME has the similar setup because Bioware uses a similar dialogue/choice option for their games. The gameplay difference between them though is quite large. KotOR plays nothing like ME.
Best Multiplayer Game: Team Fortress 2. COD4 and Halo 3 have nothing on TF2. NOTHING...
Meh I can draw tons of parallels between the two.
I just don't think ME was made nearly as good as all the hype made it out to be. The game just seems to have been slapped together when they realized that they didn't have a game to go with all the hype they had been putting out. It plays more like an FPS with RPG elements then an RPG.
Completely and utterly disagree with you. I don't know what they hell you expect from your games but Mass Effect is one of my top 5 favorite game of ALL TIME. It was pure excellence.
Western RPGs tend to seem to lack finished polish to them, as they come out with lots of bugs due to their sheer size and scope it's nearly impossible to playtest every little thing. Morrowind was buggy, Oblivion is buggy, KotOR I & II were buggy. When playing western RPGs you have to look past those miniscule issues, if that's your issue.
I expect an actually well put together game :-p
Not something that was rushed with reused maps and hashed out stories and missions. Granted I mean theres only so much you can do with missions. Go here and kill x of this, Go here and get this, Take this to this person, ect ect. I just feel Mass Effect was a rushed and poorly put together game. The story is weak (in my opinion), the load times are obscene (38 seconds for a load screen in an elevator...yes I timed it...I got bored), and they put no effort into making each world unique. If I can run into a dungeon I've never been in and know that I need to take a right at the next junction to get to the "Main chamber" something is wrong.
I mean ffs I play DnD and I draw up my own world and dungeon maps, It takes me about 5 minutes to fabricate a dungeon level...they could have atleast taken their dicks out of their hands for those 15 minutes to draw up some unique dungeons...with you know....actually different layouts.
I don't want to be "nasty" about it, but I just don't see how in the hell we are talking about the same game. From my standpoint it doesn't even seem like you played the game I did.
I thought the storyline in ME was incredible. I thought they did an absolute incredible job of creating their own very believable sci-fi universe that has as much potential as Star Trek.
The only good thing I can say thankfully is that you are in the major minority and that most people that are playing it find it to be incredible (based on actual gamer reviews). So I will thankfully get my sequels.
