Lady attacked on a public bus for 9 middle schoolers

I dont know if any of you live near baltimore or if you heard of this, but it really makes me mad.

9 middle schoolers were riding the public bus from school and would not let a lady sit down in her seat, saying every open seat was reserved. The lady finally just sat down in one and 9 kids attacked her. They beat her up so bad she broke 2 bones in her eye socket and had serious gashes all over her head, they threw her out of the back door of the bus and continued to beat her up in the street.

All 9 kids were black, and the woman was white. If this was the other way around, and 9 white kids beat up a black lady, it would be headline news in any paper and they would be riots all over the place. But since it was the other way around, its not getting much attention.

Any thoughts?

I don't care what race the victim and attackers were, as long as justice is served.

As a Childfree adult, I am constantly appalled at the complete disintegration of correct behavior in many children. Incidents like this just confirm what I've been saying for years: It's mostly the fault of the parents - but the young criminals responsible for this should be locked up, and the parents fined. I don't care if they are underage, they're old enough to go to jail and do hard time.

If raising kids is too much for you, then DON'T HAVE THEM!

I heard also that teenage pregnancies on the whole have been going down. both abortions and births, so thats a good thing i think

They should be charged with racially motivated assault. But they won't and it doesn't suprise me. They sicken me, they all deserve decapitation.

It IS interesting that it doesn't seem to work the other way isnt it? Of course it should be charged as a hate crime. Karma.

the sad thing is that they will got o juvie for 4 years, turn 18, and their record will get wiped clean.....

I doubt that any of these morons will even be locked up till they are 18.

I wouldn't be surprised if most of them just get probation, and maybe one or two get a few months to a year in a juvenile facility.

I can picture their mothers crying at the hearing, "But he's a gooooood boy!".

Hopefully the next time she's on a bus she'll carry a baseball bat and just start busting heads.

Here's another racial incident on a bus that I remember, since I knew the kid that was a target. A friend's younger brother, a very strong kid of about 15 years old, wanted to sit in a bus seat but there were books on it. He politely asked the kid sitting next to the books to remove them, and the response was negative, so he just knocked the books to the floor of the bus. One of the gang tried to hit him, and he decked him. He then sat down.

Unfortunately, most people are not teenagers who are capable of doing hundreds of free weight curls, playing rough sports, and kicking the shit out of punks. That's where the law is supposed to come in.

What! The Bus Driver and Boyfreind couldnt stop those kids?Were their no other people on board to help out?
If I was on that bus,I would have helped that lady.
Can't believed she was "dragged off the bus" while her boyfreind tried to pull her back on....das just sad.But I guess if they would have beaten up those kids they would have been arrested huh?

an update here....good news in my opinion.

Here's another thing I find amazing. There isn't a bat's chance in hell that my parents would LIE for me if I EVER did ANYTHING like this to someone. They'd have turned around and kicked my ass THEMSELVES. My child was provoked into beating the shit out of an innocent person? You must be joking!!!!!

You only have to look at the current leadership of the city to see where the problems start.

When you start out by denying all of the important accomplishments of the human race that took place without religion, and in spite of it, you don't appear very intelligent - to say the least. She gives some lip service to new ways of addressing the crime problem later in the speech, but it means nothing. All politicians claim to be tough on crime.

Wow, I live in maryland too but I haven't heard about this. But I'm not that suprised considering it's baltimore and in baltimore your not all that safe from stuff like that.

It really is sad. i lived in the city when i was young but i dont remember, now im not in the city or county, but close by. Baltimore does have a terrible crime rate and is always in the top 5 in the nation every year. If you get a chance or happen to watch the HBO show "the wire" you are watching true scenerios in Baltimore. The wire is REAL

I live in Baltimore, and it seems like the crime is getting worse every day. The bus incident isn't a shock to me. I live in a pretty safe area of the city, and I still cant walk my dog alone after dark. Most of the crime in this city is gang and drug related. People get out of jail in no time for murder because the jails are so full of drug offenders. Public education is shit so young poor people are never really given the chance to get themselves off the streets. Unemployment is ridiculous. On the radio this morning I heard that we have the second highest AIDS rate in the nation. The crime is only the tip of the ice berg.

IMAO. I blame 2 things for children acting like this. No good parenting and the HIP HOP culture.

The only way we are going to get parents to act like parents is when there child commits a crime the parent goes on trial for the same crime and does the time with the kid, and any other children in the parents care go to other family members or fostercare.

I have no idea on how to go after the HIP HOP artists but the crap values they are teaching, let alone glorification of disrespect to evryone is a huge problem.

The murder capital of the USA... In the 80's it was Detroit, in the 90's DC, now Baltimore is the murder capitol. It keeps moving more east. Maybe in a few more decades it will disappear out in the Atlantic. ;) Shitty 'bout the old woman. Kids like that are scary... No respect for anything.

it is sad to see such a great city become like this...i love baltimore, but the crime HAS to stop. theres definitly areas of the city where u dont want to be alone after dark. the only place in baltimore i go to after dark is the inner harbor...

for those of you who are familiar with baltimore: a few years ago i got lost coming out of the city and ended up in Druid Hill park. i nearly shit my pants, i mean a 16 year old white kid (by myself) trying to ask for directions in that neighborhood!! luckily i didnt have to ask anyone and after 30mins of driving around i found my way back to the inner harbor and on my way home...

I think blacks proved in the civil rights movement that most of them can maintain their composure despite the fact that their friends and family are being beaten and battered for protesting in a peaceful manner. Not that all demonstrations were peaceful of course but many of them that were, were met with white violence. So I disagree with the idea that there would be riots and outrage if this happened to a black woman.

I'm gonna have to disagree with you swan, hate crimes are a pretty one way street in this country from what I've seen. Atleast 90% of the hate crime cases I've seen all have white defendants, thus leading me to the believe that our country thinks only white people can hate based upon the color of someones skin.

Legalize pot. Let out all the "pot-offenders". Make the people who'd rape their own mother's sister stay in jail for an extra year.

If it were white kids attacking an older black lady, in 1960, it would be national news (it still is), but, I'd think the city of Baltimore would still like to keep that quiet in the press.
