Help me stoners, I haven't done this in years. Am I paying a fair price? (with pics)

Okay, so I'll be 29 on Friday, and the last time I bought any weed was when I was 21 or so. I've smoked on occasion since, but rarely, and only when I was with someone who offered (no, not mooching- by rarely I mean 2 or 3 times a year, max).

However, I battle with both chronic headaches and horrible insomnia. I have had CAT scans, been on all sorts of meds- nothing really worked. I figured I'd give smoking a go, plus, it's fun. :)

So a coworker of mine I am friendly with smokes on a daily basis, and I asked her to get me a bag. She did, and charged me $60. I don't know if she handed it over at the same price she paid, or turned a profit on it- which would be fine with me if she did.

I have a digital scale in the kitchen for food and it weighed in at 4.5 grams, or 0.15 oz (the scale only goes to .5 grams).

Here's a couple pics of a couple of the buds. I live in South Carolina- am I paying a fair price for this? I know there's only so much you can tell from pics, but it would help. I'm clueless- last time I bought was in Chicago and it was cheap and shitty.

hmm, I'm not sure about prices in South Carolina, but over here in Ontario I can get (what looks like), similiar quality for less... but like I said I live in Ontario and not South Carolina.. going to wait and let the more knowledgable tokers chime in

I thinks its $2 to the £1 at the moment which would make what you paid £30.

Round here its £20 for 3 grams off your average joe, which would make the 1.5 cost £10.

3 grams + 1.5 grams = 4.5 grams

Conclusion: I dont know what the weight/price ratio is in the states but I think you've got a fine deal mate. :thumbsup:

PS. Looks like quite a nice smoke too!

in the states the standard price is usually 50$ for 1/8 oz (3.5g). There is variation to that both regionally, out west seems to be cheaper, and seasonally, after the outdoor crop i find prices go down and/or quality goes up.

if you got 4.5g for $60 i'd say good deal esp for your first time gettin back in the game. Start to diversify, and you'll get a feel for your area and/or dealers. Then you can judge them against each other.

yep pretty much id probably pay like $80 for four grams here in san diego.

4.5 grams is over an 8th so id say thats a pretty decent price,here in Northern Cali an 8th can go for anywhere from 40-60 bucks depending on seller. are both of those pics from the same bud? ther left pic looks alot nicer really dense.Did your friend give you any hints as to what type of bud it is?

Yes, same buds, one with the flash and one without (I kinda fail at using my camera for close-ups, I had to take about 12 pics before I got them in focus). No she didn't... I should ask her, I suppose.

haha it looks like you tried to play with camera settings to get it too look good. from the first pic i can see crystals, but i dunno whats up with ur camera lol. looks good though.. here an 1/8th is like 60 so if you really did get an extra gram then i guess you got a good deal. not to mention dude.. your friend isnt gonna screw you over if ya trust her. and if she does then she isnt mcuh a friend.

That sounds about right, I'm in NC and i pay about $45 for an eighth

Here in Vermont I pay $35 an eighth. It looks a little nicer than the stuff I usually get. great.

Damn herb is expensive down there bro ! I live in quebec canada and for what seem to be the same quality for 4.5 I get that for 30-40$ depending on batch for the 4.5 ! In canadian dollar !!! :rasta:

I bought an eighth of northern lights for $46 3 weeks in a row. An eighth is 3.6grams, so i'd say your getting a pretty standard to good deal. that weed looks pretty good as well. either way, have fun with it man. hope it helps!

I usually can get a bag that wieghs 4.5 for $20-$25. The weed in the pic looks nicer then what I get but not by much. All in all, I dont think id ever pay as much as you did.

In most of SC, regular seedless goes for $50 for 3.5g (1/8th) if it is all crystally like that, it is usually closer to 60 or $70 for 3.5g. mids usually go for $20 for 3.5g

I agree with the SC stuff; I used to live there and it'd be hard to come by any chronic. Just mids, which would sell for $50 for a half-ounce. However, depends upon the quality you got. She probably made a little bit of profit for herself; hey, no one does anything for free, right? Anyways, where are you in SC? I used to live in the Upstate.

id say you got a pretty gud deal, eigths around my city go for atleast sixty if its sum exotic, and that bud look pretty decent so id smoke it :) plus wut you got right there is a gram over a 8th
