I signed a petition awhile ago for the LCA, to have cannabis and everything to do with cannabis completely legalised.
THOSE DIRTY LYING LITTLE CU*TS SAID THIS:
The Government has no intention of legalising cannabis. In response to the Home Affairs Committee report on The Government's Drugs Policy: Is It Working? in 2002, it stated that "We do not accept that legalisation and regulation is now, or will be in the future, an acceptable response to the presence of drugs" and that includes cannabis.
The Government considers that cannabis is a controlled, illicit drug for good reasons. It has a number of acute and chronic health effects and prolonged use can induce dependence. Most cannabis is smoked and smoking, in any form, is dangerous. Even the occasional use of cannabis can pose significant dangers for people with mental health problems, such as schizophrenia, and particular efforts need to be made to encourage abstinence in such individuals.
Legalising cannabis would run counter to this country's international obligations as a signatory to the relevant United Nations Conventions on drugs and there is no prospect of unilateral action.
Legalisation would also run counter to the Government's health and education messages. The message to all - and to young people in particular - is that all controlled drugs, including cannabis, are harmful and no one should take them. To legalise the possession of cannabis for personal consumption would send the wrong message to the majority of young people who do not take drugs on a regular basis, if at all, with the potential risk of increased drug use and abuse.
The Government's objective is to reduce the use of all illegal drugs - including cannabis - substantially, not to encourage increased consumption due to more ready access to increased supply. While our drugs laws cannot be expected to eliminate drug use, there is no doubt that they do help to limit use and deter experimentation.
The Prime Minister announced on 18 July that, as part of the consultation to review its drug strategy, the Government will also consider whether it is now right that cannabis should be moved from Class C back to Class B under the Misuse of Drugs Act.
There is real public concern about the potential mental health effects of cannabis use and, in particular, the use and availability of increased strengths of the drug, commonly known as skunk. In these circumstances, the Government is considering whether it is necessary to toughen the penalties relating to cannabis possession to complement its education and treatment programmes.
The Home Secretary has therefore asked the Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs, which advises the Government on drug issues, to again assess the medical and social scientific basis of the classification of cannabis. This review will take into account the fact that there are stronger forms of cannabis that may cause more harm.
The Government will consider carefully the Advisory Council's findings, expected next spring, before making a final decision that will be consistent with its aim of reducing the harm caused by drugs.
I really think that EXTREME violence is the only way forward now. I cant be bothered to ask nicely anymore, especially because they keep using their own lies as a way to dismiss everything we say.

I've been a card carrying member of the LCA for a lot of years , this response is nothing new.
Unfortunately there is evidence to show that those who suffer from certain mental illnesses should not smoke cannabis , because of this the chances of legalisation in the near future are virtualy nil.
I recently posted about the goverments plans to re-classify it to B from C .

Well is asking nicely working? No. Is begging working? No. Are these marches working? No. Is the need for medicinal cannabis changing their opinions? No.
What havnt we tried? We havnt tried wiping those lying cheating corrupt wankers out. Maybe it's time for that!
They have to realise that the longer they keep this SHIT going, the more people will get pissed off. Just coz we smoke cannabis, doesnt mean we dont get angry, and doesnt mean we cant prove our point with violence. IF talking nicely worked, i wouldnt even concider being violent, but it doesnt. Maybe they'd see just how fucking seirous we are if a few heads rolled.

No need for violence. We could advance the cause of lot of things, such as legalized marijuana, by targetting and boycotting consumer products. If you hit certain corporations hard enough, such as the music industry, and demand action, they would be forced to lobby for your interests with far better resources than any individual, or even most groups, could muster. Petitions end up in the trash can. When money talks, nobody walks.
The problem is that most people are unwilling to deny themselves any of the convieniences they are accustomed to.

Believe me when I tell you I would be more than happy if someone were to do a Guy Fawkes but I don't see it happening and I think it would hurt us more than help.
I guess we have to accept that legislation and trying to get everyone who is pro-cannabis to speak up is our best option at the moment , we need to show that thier stereotypes are few and far between.

and has anything really moved forward? in a few places mmj is marginally legal, but that will only get herb locked up in pharmacies. maybe a bit of terrorism is what's called for. by the response lip got i would say that these folks don't give a damn about facts or the rights of the average citizen and we can already see the way they are willing to cave in to terrorist threats. is it all that far fetched to appeal to them in the only language they understand - violence? sometimes the only way to change government policy is to change government and sometimes the only way to change government is with violent action.
i would agree that violence is seldom the answer, but sometimes it is the only answer. the key when using violence is not to use it in anger, but with the same cool deliberation that it is used against you.

i would agree that violence is seldom the answer, but sometimes it is the only answer. the key when using violence is not to use it in anger, but with the same cool deliberation that it is used against you.
I think you will find that the British goverment has an ongoing policy when it comes to negotiating with terrorists , they DON'T ! They send the SAS after your arse or the Met shoot anything that looks the slightest bit suspicious.
I am the least peaceful person I know but I am smart enough to know when the odds are stacked against me , if I'm dead they I can forget continuing the fight for legalisation.

I agree with this, but to change much more than marijuana laws, and only if you have a large group of people backing you up. After all, when was the last peaceful revolution (and don't mention Gandhi, because that revolution wasn't peaceful, and neither was Gandhi in reality)? I hate when people say this is never an option. It's not an option because those people will never be willing to fight for anything...sad, really.

The United Nations like to impose sanctions on countries preventing people from getting the medicine they need. I don't give a shit what they think, they are not fucking deciding for me whether to smoke it or not, I'll smoke until my brain turns green if I want.
