Making someone your caregiver ?

Hi, I was wondering if it is possible to make someone who is also a patient your caregiver. And if so how would someone go about doing this ?


I mean caregiver as in the person is legally able to grow your own plants for you.

In my state you can, you just have to get the forms.

does a caregiver have to be a patient aswell?!?!?

When I was at my doctors, there was a man that was a patient with his girlfriend that wasn't a patient. He added her for an extra $15 and after answering a few questions. The doc said she could grow and pick up his medicine without him as long as she had her permission form etc. :jointsmile:

The MMJ laws in California were authorized by a constitutional amendment (Prop. 215) then implemented (the rules written) by legislation (SB 420 etc.). Nowhere in the law is there a clear definition of "caregiver". However, small growing co-ops are something that are clearly envisioned in the law.

You can make anyone you want your caregiver; anyone who wants can make you their caregiver. Being a caregiver essentially means that the patient has passed to the caregiver their rights as far as the amount of MMJ that the caregiver can possess and, more importantly, grow.

The Cal Norml website has a lot of good information about this subject and staying in compliance with the law.

i recieved a copy of a patients recommendation note which on the back was a hand written note from the patient stating that she uses me to grow for her, because she has no clue about growing the plant.
she signed her name under the little note.
and im wondering if that is all that i need
or if it's legitimate at all..

While the following is the dictionary's definition of Care Givers:

care·giv·er â??noun
1. a person who cares for someone who is sick or disabled.
2. an adult who cares for an infant or child.

The State of California defines a caregiver as someone whom consistantly tends to a patients needs including finacially,Medicine,Housekeeping on a daily basis.

MMJ caregivers are not official caregivers yet under State law.
