1 Female, 1 Hermie, and no space..
Well I started flowering my first grow (bag seed) 15 days ago. I ended up with 1 male that i discarded, 1 female, and 1 hermie.
I don't have enough room to separate the hermie and I am wondering if I should chop it down, or allow them both to continue and pollinate. They are both 4 feet tall and quite bushy, healthy plants. The female looks like it will have 3 nice colas, while the hermie would only have 2.
Since it is just bagseed and I did it more as a learning experience I am just looking for the highest yield. I had clones of them taken while still in veg and seeing as how this grow went very well, I will order a strain of seeds in the near future.
So the question is: flower 1 female sinsemilla, or 1 female and 1 hermie with seeds? Also, I've read that a hermie pollinating a female will produce 100% female seeds.. not that it matters now, but is this true?

the seds would be most likely female, but also easily hermied.
ya cant seed just the herm, cuz itll spray pollen on the female also.
what id suggest is go at the herm every day with tweezers and either pluck or crush all the testicles before they can grow. (it takes 4-7 days to grow big and open)

i would probably save the herm too if i could. its still decent bud when you harvest, just watch and pick the pollen sacks the best that you can.

Dutch Masters makes a product called "Reverse". You can use it to stop your plants from producing seeds and balls. If you use the Reverse, it is recommended that you use it along with DM's "Penetrator".
Good luck with your grow!

I never considered trying to pick the pollen sacks.. It will be a bitch since the plants are so big, but I'll give it a go.
What would think about turning my fan off that I had stirring the air in the room to help make hardy stems? Since I don't think I need that any more and was leaving it one pretty much to discourage any kind of pests and keep my leaves free of dust. This way even if some pollen slips past me it might not get circulated as much.

You could also spray a tiny bit of water over the pollen sacks before you touch them, so the pollen can't fly.

well i just spent 25 min picking sacks... it is tedious to say the least lol. I will try to keep up with them as they grow. Even if i can stop most/some of them I will be happy.
I am calling my first grow a success already since they didn't die on me, and are in fact very healthy. The 9 clones I have of the female are all looking equally healthy and about 6-10" tall already. If I end up with seedy buds this time, I can live with that.

they wont die if you pop the sacks. just go at it every day or two and itll be a relativly painless procedure and youll get bud and not seed at the end

Is that fan the only form of ventilation you have? If so I wouldn't recommend shutting it off.

I thought about that last night. It is the only form of vent I have in that room so I will leave it on, but will make sure it is off when picking the pollen sacks just incase.

the sacks should be safe to pick anyways until they open (heaven forbid) but thats a good precaution.
just go in, pinch them, and pulle m off (there not attached very tightly, dont worry)

Yeah picking them is easy, but my god is it tedious work! I will try to keep up with them, but don't be surprised if I just say forget it. :( haha

Well I cut down the hermie tonight... It had so many sacks on it that I couldn't keep up with them. It also had to have been male dominant as it didn't have nearly enough pistils for my taste. The other female is flowering very nicely and I felt it would be a shame to taint her with pollen. Now she has an extra bit of light on her as well, so I am hoping she rewards me for my kindness :)

I think you made the right choice here.

yeah, if its managable safely its ok, but once it breaches a comfort threshold, its a risk and should be considered male.

Sup egg ,
All the seeds from the self-pol. hermie are junk = same thing as inbreeding .
If you collect pollen from the hermie and pol. the true female = female seeds w/ 50% less chance of turning hermie than the self pol. plant .
You wanna play femin. seed games you need a perfect stress free enviroment or reverse / penetrator like P/C said .
Peace
