I planted this on 11/12, as of today it looks like this. Should I be worried? It doesn't appear to be growing up anymore, but it is growing bushier.
My set up includes 2 40W/3400L T12 CFLs & 1 40W/2600L CFL in a closet painted white. The plants are almost touching the CFLs. Temp 78-80F. Crappy soil from Home Depot.
the stems are purple/red not good the light spectrum it off it needs to me 6500k to 6700k for veg blue spectrum... do u have drain holes? and i would suggest starting with 5 plants not one but keep us posted i would like to see hoe it turns out check out my thread (my grow)
keep the lights 2 to 4 inch from top of plants it will help keep them short and not burn them
twitch have a point . Don't keep your light so close to the plant .
What kind of medium you have ?
Purple stem => maybe your PH is not right . Check it .
On the pictures i see that the soil is very wet.
Don't over water your plant .
Humidity ? ?
Remember, sometimes the purple coloration of the stem/s is a genetic trait of a lot of different strains of Indica.
On another note though, it does appear as if you're over watering unless of course you took your pictures RIGHT after you watered. You should check your pH as well, especially if you're using an unknown soil...

Ok, so you'all are right, I'm over watering my plants. I just get worried about the soil drying out. Little to eager I geuss.
I don't have a pH tester yet, but I think I will buy one very soon and test the soil. I'm also going to buy better soil soon.
I have a total of 9400 Lumens on the lights, but you guys are right, the light is too close. I have moved the light to be little more then 2" away from plant.
I don't know how to test for humidity. I do know by living in a horribly humid place, its not humid in my closet. I would estimate the humidity is rather low.
as long as u can keep the temp around 75 to 80 the humidity will stay good leave a cup with water in it in the room thats what i do
i was mistaken earlier i though it said 3400k... what color do the lights appear to be
blueish for veg 6500k to 6700k
redish orange or yellow is usally in the right spectrum for flowering 2500k to 3500k
when watering the top of the dirt should be dry to the touch and slightly damp under thats a good time to water i water mine once every 36 hours unless its really dry

I flushed the plant, and now the pH is fine. Its been a week, and I think the plant looks so much better! I planted it on 11/12/07 (that's the pic of the baby plant). I took pics today, and she looks like this. She's almost 3 weeks old.
Do you think she's looking better???

Wow, I need to update more pics! My babies are growing like mad now.
So, I found a 250W MH light & I'm about to buy a 150 or 400W HPS light. Is it really that bad to use both during all periods of growth (veg & flower)? I understand the color differences and all that, I was just wondering if anyone else has tried that.
Another question, when does everyone transplant their babies into bigger pots. Mine are in a 3" pot now & are about 2-3" tall. Should I transplant soon or what longer?
I used 400 w hps along with fluores and cfl-s for veg and now for flowering, without any problems witch lights can make .Quote:

don't now for sure when you need to transplant them but you will see . when plant is about 15-20 cm high .
as for myself . . . i never transplant them . I germinate my seeds and put them directly to a pot in witch will they grow to the end !
Why bother with transplanting , make your growing easier !
