It has been a long time since I have gotten a flat tire..but usually these experiences can be very interesting, harrowing and sometimes very dangerous..depending on the location..
last one I got was on a surface street..popped as I was making a left turn..I was with a friend..I had my tire changed and was rolling in about 10 minutes...felt like I should be a part of a Nascar crew.

Last time I got a flat tire I was on the freeway amongst the hundreds of people rushing out of san diego because of the fires...
My great luck popped my tire in the middle of the freeway in the middle of evacuation
It was awesome!

My last flat was in the summer. Fortunately, I have quick release wheels, so changing a bicycle tube isn't as difficult as it was in my youth.

Last flat I got was going down to schwagstock in Missour. It was on the highway but it wasnt too busy so I got it changed and back on the road in less than 15.....which was a pretty good time considering how stoned I was :stoned:

Late November.
About midnight.
POURING freezing rain.
I was coming to a stop at a red light, not more than 10 miles per hour, and CLUNK went right into a pothole that was full of water and looked like a puddle.
I was in the right turn lane.
I got out of my car to look at the flat and just then a cop came by and screamed at me to move my car.
I was like, Maam I have a flat tire, and she was like, I don't care, move the vehicle.
Aren't they supposed to protect and SERVE?
She probably didn't want to get out of her cruiser because it was raining and she had one of those puffy hairspray helmet head 'dos going on. I was pissed. She didn't even ask me if I would like her to call a tow truck.
I got my car into a nearby parking lot and some goofy hippie stoner lookin' Hampshire College kid also driving a VW stopped and helped me get the spare on.
Yay, stoner power.
Boo, cops who forgot what the FUCK it says on the side of their car.

it's been 2-3 years but it's a funny story... my friend was DDing to a party way out in the boonies, and along the way the tire went flat... we made it to the house but there wre like 100 cars along the private road so we had to park like a mile away... we just said fuck it and went to the party, leaving the car... we partied for a few hours and everyone except the driver was EXTREMELY fucked up when we headed back to the car (I can't say what we did on this site)... but we realize there is no jack in the car so we had to call AAA... the guy takes like an hour to show up but we smoke a blunt with him and we're on our way in no time... hahaha fuckin high school....

About 8 weeks ago for me. Dave left to go do rounds on a Saturday morning, and I was going to go out and do errands in my car. When I stepped around to the driver's side of my car, the back rear tire was flat as a pancake from a nail. That one was easy. A can of Fix-A-Flat and a trip to Discount Tire for a free repair.
The last one before that was much more of an adventure. It was dark and I was going 78 mph southbound on a crowded stretch of the Dallas North Tollway when one of the tires blew. The stability control system on my car made the blowout almost imperceptible, but it wasn't easy to get off the Tollway, and I was going so fast and had to drive such a distance before I got to an exit that I messed up the rim and hubcap in the process. (There's no way for regular passenger vehicles to pull onto the side of the road on that particular stretch, and those who do are very likely to be hit and killed by other cars.) Fortunately, there was a Discount Tire store at the very spot where I exited. So I got lucky. I know how to change tires on everything from bikes to fire trucks, but I prefer for someone else to do that job nowadays.

My last flat was in January 05 when 20 miles after buying a new set of Dunlop D208 motorcycle tires and on my way home the back tire picked up a bolt putting a hole clean through the steel belts.
The tire had just cost me $150.00 not 20 minutes before I got the flat.:(
A friend of mine works in a big wheel shop and gets that kind of thing all the time and fixed my tire with a plug patch. That tire lasted me about 4000 miles.

I've only ever gotten 1 flat tire since I started driving about 2 years ago. I was getting gas at a gas station, ghosty might know this one. It's the gas station in SLP right off of highway 100 south and mtka blvd near the new starbucks or caribou I don't remember specifically, but anyways, I was there getting gas and as I drove away I heard a loud noise. I ignored it and continued to drive. I got onto the on ramp for the highway (394 E towards mpls) and was fine for a few minutes then my car just went insane and started shaking. I pulled over, and my entire tire was basically split open. I called my Dad up and he came over with my snow tires and we just put those on. Not a huge deal.

It was in july, my work van, musta ran over a huge nail on the way into the hospital. Went out for a smoke(you know what) and discovered I had a flat. And I was in the middle of a smeltering parking lot. So I smoked a bowl, and drove it on the flat to some shade. Work van spares are kept under the rear of the van. Its on some kinda winch holding it to the floor underneath, and you have to poke your tire iron into this hole and get it to rotate a screw to loosen the winch and get it to the ground.

an "incident management vehicle" forced me off the road when I was trying to enter the freeway, I must have gotten a shard of something in the tire. I had never fixed a flat tire before, and didn't know how, but it wasn't hard to figure out just looking at the tools and what not. the only thing that vehicle managed to do was create an incident.

I remember it so vividly. 2 years ago, A friend and I were heading to a club, and we were in a rundown part of the city: all clubs, strips joints, and bums running all around. We were rolling, and I made a turn and ran against the curb. The edge was so sharp the tire flattened instantly. Needless to say, me and my friend had a hard time putting on the spare.

I had to move back to Virginia, with my cat, because I lost my driver's license in New York (I know, shame on me).
Anyways, I went straight down through the Catskills and, somewhere in Pennsylvania, my tire went flat. I drove to the next exit, put on a spare, then went to a tire store.
My cat had to drive the rest of the way.
