I want it to have something to do with music, i was thinkin a guitar. the thing is i dont really play any instrument well enough to be considered a musician so i was thinkin do you think it would be akward to have a guitar and not be a guitarist?
do you any other music related things that could be better but are just slipping my mind?

depends what music your into i have about 8 tatts n have come to the conclusion that they should mean something to you the fact that your asking points to you not being sure the music theme is cool, how about some notes with or around something else you can do pretty much anything maybe find a tattoo design site pick a few print em off n take them to your tattooist n let them come up with something new let us know

I have 2 music tattoos, one is a music staff with a heartagram behind it on my lower back, which means "devoted to music" cuz the heartagram means devotion, and the second one is a microphone on my hip with the cord going down the side of my thigh, and the cord looks like its going into my thigh.:thumbsup: becuz i love to sing, and music is my life!:jointsmile:
All u have to do is just think of everything u can think of that has to do with music, like, music notes, instruments, equipment, and just make it ur own style, or mix it with sumthin else u enjoy too and make it one tattoo!:) just some ideas!

j/k. You gotta do what you feel. Like have the guitar absorbing a lightning bolt, rather than just a guitar. Not saying you should do exactly that, but think of how music pleasures you, and get that tattooed.
Firstly it should be as individual as possible , you don't want the same old shit every Joe Bloggs has done.
Secondly it should be something that 20 years from now you still won't mind looking at ( I have tats dating back to 1979) .
Finaly if you can't decide then it's generaly best to wait till you're certain of what you want and where you want it.
I know lots of people with music related tats who can't play a note so that shouldn't really be a concern.
My own personal taste in music is very varied and I never rush into making a choice , I decided (after a very long time) to go with my favourite type of music which is Psychobilly.
My fave group are The Cramps so I decided to "steal" one of thier album covers.
The original pic had the name of the band through the hair but I decided I didn't want that.

At the Modest Mouse show on Wednesday I saw a kid with a tattoo of the neck of a guitar, strings and frets and all, on his forearm. It was pretty sweet-looking, although it might be a little too "scene" or whatever indie kids are being called these days.
Something along these lines maybe ?
