For those who can't be bothered to use the link , these are existing laws in the UK that are just plain nuts!



1. It is illegal to die in the Houses of Parliament

2. It is an act of treason to place a postage stamp bearing the British monarch upside-down

3. In Liverpool, it is illegal for a woman to be topless except as a clerk in a tropical fish store

4. Mince pies cannot be eaten on Christmas Day

5. In Scotland, if someone knocks on your door and requires the use of your toilet, you must let them enter

6. A pregnant woman can legally relieve herself anywhere she wants, including in a policeman's helmet

7. The head of any dead whale found on the British coast automatically becomes the property of the king, and the tail of the queen

8. It is illegal to avoid telling the tax man anything you do not want him to know, but legal not to tell him information you do not mind him knowing

9. It is illegal to enter the Houses of Parliament in a suit of armour

10. In the city of York it is legal to murder a Scotsman within the ancient city walls, but only if he is carrying a bow and arrow

i find it funny that alaska had to write a law that made it illegal to throw a moose out of a plane in flight.

When two trains meet each other at a railroad crossing, each shall come to a full stop, and neither shall proceed until the other has gone.

Up to a felony charge can be levied for promoting the use of, or owning more than six dildos.

It is illegal for one to shoot a buffalo from the second story of a hotel.

A recently passed anticrime law requires criminals to give their victims 24 hours notice, either orally or in writing, and to explain the nature of the crime to be committed.

The entire Encyclopedia Britannica is banned in Texas because it contains a formula for making beer at home.

not kidding... i mean we have them, people pay about as much attetion to that one as they do to any of the other crazy laws you hear about.... but the law does exist....

Animals are banned from mating publicly within 1,500 feet of a tavern, school, or place of worship.

It is a misdemeanor to shoot at any kind of game from a moving vehicle, unless the target is a whale.

No vehicle without a driver may exceed 60 miles per hour

I'm originally from a town called Joliet Il. It's pronounced "Joe-lee-et". However it is often mispronounced "Jolly-et". To curb this blatant assault on the English language (and my home-town), the powers that be instituted a $2 fine for each mispronunciation (this was in the early 1900's). Next time I go home I think I might have to trick one of my friends into comitting a mispronunciation. Then I'll call 911 and demand that a citation be issued!
