"Don Vito" (Bam Margeras Uncle)is going to jail for a looooong time

For sexually assaulting 2 young girls. He's may be going to jail for life!

DENVER â?? 9NEWS has learned that Vincent Margera, who plays "Don Vito" on MTV's "Viva La Bam," is under suicide watch after he was found guilty of two counts of sexual assault on a child.


Margera was found guilty on Wednesday of two counts and acquitted of a third after he was accused of fondling three girls during a public appearance at a mall Lakewood. The victims were 12 and 13 years old.

9NEWS has learned that Margera is currently at a Level 1 status, which means there are limitations on his movement and he is under a suicide watch.

Margera is scheduled to be sentenced on December 20.

In Colorado, sex offenders can only be sentenced to probation for a minimum of 10 years, or an indeterminate life sentence. They can only be paroled from the indeterminate life sentence by the Colorado Parole Board. However, 9NEWS has obtained statistics that show of the nearly 1,000 people sentenced for felony sex offenses since 1998, only three have been paroled.

A person close to the investigation who wished to remain anonymous told 9NEWS: "If Margera does go to prison, it's for life. The jury said what he did was wrong. Should he be punished? Yes. But life in prison for what he did? No."

After the verdict was read on Wednesday, Margera collapsed onto the floor of the courtroom and yelled, "Just kill me now."

He kept yelling and moving around, but Jefferson County deputies eventually restrained him and took him to jail.

He will remain in custody until his sentencing.

GOLDEN (AP) - The defense said Tuesday that Vincent Margera was in his crazy, profane "Don Vito" character during a visit to a skatepark where prosecutors say he fondled three girls.

Defense attorney Pamela Mackey made her statement during the first day of trial for Margera, who faces three felony counts of sexual assault on a child. He's accused of grabbing the breasts or buttocks of a 14-year-old girl and two 12-year-old girls.

Margera is the uncle of MTV's "Viva La Bam" star Bam Margera.

"Fans came to see the crazy, outrageous, profane uncle. That's who they wanted their picture taken with. Fans expected to see Don Vito, not Vincent Margera," Mackey said. "You may find the behavior vulgar and disgusting, but it was done to amuse, to entertain, to get a laugh."

Mackey added that Margera, a car painter, learned that the crazier he acted the more his fans loved it.

Prosecutor Jim Stanley said that Margera resisted arrest, insulted two female Lakewood police officers who arrested him, and asked them in the squad car if they were taking him to a strip club.

"This man was out of control during this public event," Stanley said. "He was so intoxicated that he peed his pants while with these children."

Margera also faces 12 felony counts of violating his bail conditions. Those conditions included having no contact with children under 18, consuming no drugs or alcohol, and providing detailed information on business travel plans.

Depends on the situation really, these girls could have appeared older and spurred it on. However, if this isn't the case then he certainly deserves everything he gets. I'm not a fan of him, personally I think he's a waste of space.

Nobody can really make an educated judgment on the situation because in this thread there are conflicting reports of what happened, one article says the girls were 12 and 13, one says 12 and 14. Until we know exactly what really happened you can't pass judgment. As dumb as these people are I don't honestly believe Don Vito would grab a kid in a sexual way on purpose while being filmed. I'd bet he was pushing them out of the way and being the idiot he is, wasn't paying attention to where he was pushing at on the girls. Naturally, having a big fat lard like that guy pushing your daughters in their chest area would piss off any parent, this is why I'd need more info...or video if there is any (unless it really was sexual, then don't post that lol)

But despite what might have really happened, it looks like the verdict has been read so it sounds like the case is pretty much closed. So now what? I bet MTV is already working on a new reality show to watch Vito in prison. Can you imagine the ratings on that show?:thumbsup:

Sentencing in sex related crimes is getting way outta hand, but anyone who says anything about it gets slammed. Genarlo Wilson got ten years for getting a bj from a consenting, and very willing 15 year old girl. He served 3 or 4 years before the supreme court realized how ridiculous that was and let him out. His life is fucked either way.
