Anyone here into photography?

Was wondering if anyone here is into photography. Reason I ask is I happened to find a Canon 35mm camera setup, next to our dumpster (was thinking about diving into the dumpster at this point):thumbsup:. Its got multiple lenses, auto winders, filters, etc. Its an AE1 model. I really dont know about cameras but it was in too good a condition to just leave there and Im thinking someone threw it out by mistake. Just wondering if its worth anything. Its a damn nice camera in excellent condition, no scratches or anything, somebody took care of it very well but i have no use for it. I would have to say it was meant for me to find too cause it starting storming like a bitch as I was picking the bag up and even though the bag got drenched everything inside was dry as a bone. Here are some pics of it.

Well this seems a nice piece, but if you don't know if it is working there is not a lot to get out of it. For the lenses I'm sure you can get some good money for it, if there mint. I check a little on the web and for the camera you could be able to get 100 $, the two lens could get you up to 200 $. This is only estimate, you can check on eBay. Hope this help !

ok i just actually read your thread, and realized this had nothing to do with showing pictures. sorry. dude i waould keep it. i got all my equipment for 120 off ebay. same exact shit as that. its a fun hobby to have.

You know everytime I post something to you I talk about JFA..I seen them in 1992 at Somas in San Diego...Great show..only time I ever seen them..Brian Bannon was not at all what I expected..the guitarist had one of those flying V guitars..the pit was huge and a lot of stagedivers..the Skatenigs played with them...another really good band..I remember their album name "Stupid people shouldnt breed" great album. Late

thanks dude. yeah i feel kinda lame cause i'm only 18, i know their still around but i probably won't ever see them. plus nothing will ever be as good as we know you suck. that album plus a summer full of stolen snickers and cokes from 7/11 and ditch sessions all day is the epitomy of what a 16 year olds summer should be. i know i enjoyed it back then.

that other band i never heard of but i went through this 80s hardcore phase baaaddd and couldn't put it down (haha 21st century). I went and saw verbal abuse and poison idea in austin i think that same summer or the next one. that was a bad ass show, so i can say i got a little culture in my blood.

also if you were real into those bands in that time i suggest you go and watch american hardcore documentary. that was a good movie. talks to alot of the guys in those bands back then talking about their scenes and shit.

Yeah, I seen that..it was really good...that was a cool scene then..jfa was leading the push to..along with black flag, circle jerks, bad brains(my fav), germs..all those guys are old as hell now..but the music lives on...I can remember when I was in Okinawa and me and my friend drinkin saki and robo and swimmin with barracuda and jellyfish listening to JFA..Good ass times

I like photography, but... I dont have a decent camera and it gets expensive to go get those cheap little disposables developed all the time :(... I really want a digital camera, once I get one I'll be snapping pictures left and right.:thumbsup:

ive Been wanting to Buy one of those for a long time.. i have a NIkon D70 Now though.. so i donno if i would still buy one..

thanks for the responses. NICE pics Void. I figured it would take some nice ones since Canon is/was an excellent camera. yeah its wierd to find it. I was getting out of the car and went to empty my ashtray in the dumpster and there was like 50 hefty bags of trash since the garbage people havent been paid by the landlord. I actually almost didnt see it thinking it was a bag of trash cause it was in a black camera bag but looked like a garbage bag, but then realized our neighbors had thrown out a bunch of stuff (big screen tv, ent. center and a bunch of other shit. hell i would have had to hire a search party to go through all that shit. they may have accidentally threw it out and didnt know it, then again they are always arguing and fighting so someone may have thrown it out on purpose to piss someone off. Who knows maybe dude next door was taking porno pics of another woman:D and wifey found out:wtf:...who knows? Anyhoo, somebodys loss, my gain:thumbsup: So it looks like its off to the highest bidder i guess on fleabay cause i had it on craigslist but no responses. i had it all listed for 150 bucks but shit id be satisfied to get 100 bucks for it as i saw a nice 7.0MP GE digital at walgreens believe it or not for 99 bucks, just not too sure about the GE digitals. The one i saw is below.

and i'm still stoked how you just found that camera set. i would fucking shit myself if i found that. i mean i already own it, but like..i dunno. actually right now my winder is broken i have to order a replacement peice off the net.

GE stands for General Electric. They usually make good products like microwaves, tvs and whatnot, but I had no idea they made cameras. Man, me and my daughter are forever finding shit. She has found 2 cell phones, a 20 dollar bill, cd's. I always look down when im walking cause i know someone is always dropping something. Last thing i found was an unopened pack of Newports in the gas station about 3 months ago.:) Bitch of it was i was coming out and had just bought a pack:wtf:

The AE-1 was the rage back in the 70's - my dad bought one new, and I inherited it. It is a very nice camera setup, albeit way outdated, but takes excellent SLR images. I used mine up until about 2000, when I finally got into the digital revolution. Congrats on the find. However, with the setup being so old, 100 bucks is about what it would go for with everything included.
