It pisses me off because most of the stoner dudes I know are skin & bones.

Do something about it. Take control of your body. Go to the gym, exercise more, eat less. Burn more fat then you take in. Do it as much as you can. There's no point making excuses, get out there and be somebody.
the munchies can be a pain to deal with if you already have a slow metabolism. i tend to eat before i smoke and that takes care of it for the most part. also dont get lazy. start working out.
There's nothing like smoking a fat one after a good work out. ;)
Just change what your munching on...you'll munch down anything when your high. Try some fruit!
Everyone seems to be right on the beam so far. Smoke after eating a well balanced meal, avoid late night snacking, start exercising more, and have better health friendly snacks for when you can't stop a case of the atomic munchies. Strawberries for instance, they taste absolutely amazing after toking up. Don't forget marijuana enhances almost all sensations, so taking a nice long walk when you are stoned is very enjoyable. Always remember, no tips or tricks you get online are a substitute for good old fashioned will power.

it seems that when I'm high, I can just eat and eat and eat and eat and eat and you get the idea. It doesn't stop!
I do have a gym membership that I've been paying for and not using.
The best thing you can do is, start weight lifting or do some running around your block. Do your best to control the amount of junk food you consume. When you get really hungry after you smoke, try to eat some fruit or granola bars or something.
But to achive to lose weight, you have to mentally force your self to not to eat junk food and also make your self excercise every other day if you can.

And eating before I get high doesn't usually work for me. Once I quit smokin bowls for the night the munchies set in even if I ate 2 or 3 hrs before. SO what I try to do is -1-not buy much junk at the grocery store. and 2- have good stuff prepped and ready to go so when I am giving in to the evil munchies I am more likely to eat the good stuff that is already prepared than I am to firing up the oven to cook a frozen pizza or something.

Ok... I was in this same situation earlier this year.... I had some wise words of advice on how to reverse the effects though...
Ok well you want to start out by eating healthy munchies when you do eat munchies... You can eat fruits (apples,kiwi,oranges) things of that nature (as many as you WANT) without having to worry...Also I cut ALL flour out of my diet
BUT the main thing that helped me was I was reading this thing about cannabonoid receptors in your brain they work on the bodys natural reward system...
So in turn when you smoke you get hungry and feed yourself =)
BUT to correct this what I did was I worked out THEN I toked it up and I still got high but after 2 weeks of doing this I no longer get munchies at all.
So When I started doing this I was 6'5 310pounds in March
Now I am 6'6 225 ripped abs(Not a 6 pack yet but its filling in nicely) and 12" biceps...
I went from a lard ass and because of my depression what I thought was a low life piece of shit..
to a nice healthy muscular specimen of the human male species

yeah I don't think it's necessary to resist the urge to eat when you're stoned. The same applies to sobriety; you can have huge portions, it just needs to be the right type of food. Things that are high in fiber usually are more filling. When I get wicked munchies, I eat a huge bowl of grape nuts with skim milk; makes me full for a while. You can add honey to it, which is a healthy natural sweetener.
Don't feel like a victim because other stoners are thinner. Everyone's metabolism is different. I have a friend who smokes on and off in an absolute sense and he'll fatten up good in just two weeks after going back to smoking, but then he'll lose it all after quitting again. It just takes some education on your part to find out which foods you can gorge on and not pack on lbs. Don't feel like the munchies are controlling you, you can guide them in thr right direction by eating the right stuff.
My answer? Sugar free Jello. Ten calories and super tasty cherry gelatin :P
I started going to the gym almost daily early last summer. I am 6'4 and have dropped down from 272 to 247 lbs by eating 5 to 6 small meals per day of about 5-6 hundred calories a piece.
Consult with a personal trainer about whats best for your body
my friend i am in the same boat...if i have a craving consider everything in the fridge gone;) you just have to keep control even though its hard to quiet the cravings. I just tell my self no keg for a belly...maybe eat fruits that you like, good luck buddy:stoned:
Like pass the doobie has said...change what youre snackin on after you smoke! Eat some fruit, tofu, salad etc.
Dont underestimate working out, with a healthy diet and a dedicated schedule you will lean out quick.
lmfao one of the reasons i started smoking because im skinny. it doesnt help me no matter how much munchie food i eat lol. and believe me, when i have munchies, i dont pussy out on that shit. 5'9" 120 hemmmmiiii lol

While you're high, if your munchies are out of control, try chewing gum. Not a perfect solution, but I find it helps, and of course if very low calorie.
I'm the opersite, I couldn't get life insurance because I'm half a stone under weight for my B.M.I. I need to put on weight, but find I'm never hungry. I have to really force something down, usually a 1 meal a day.
Fuck the gym man. It's cool if you're into that, but you don't seem that way. I say if you have a bike, blaze up and ride that thing. It feels wonderful to explore your town and have the wind on your face when you're nice and stoned. You also don't get fatigued as quickly, you get some workout, it's enjoyable and a great way to spend a high. Get a couple of friends to go riding. Orr you can always skate!

i find chewing gum helps a lot, but not cure it. i always have a craving for sweets and end up eating ice cream or something. but i am gonna try to eat fruit after i smoke. that will make me feel better instead of feeling guilty after i eat.

I eat and then smoke right after but the munchies never set in for at least an hour or two into my smoke time. Thats assuming I smoke a joint and then keep smoking every 30 mins or hr til I go to bed. If I only smoke once & let myself come down then the munchies set in about 45 mins after smoking or so.Quote:

5 years ago I was just out of highschool and a good 300lbs or so (which is a good amount considering I'm not very tall). The fact that I pretty much sit on my ass in front of the computer all day didn't help things.
When I first started smoking like 4 years ago, I was a bit worried because I'd get munches really really bad and I'd end up bringing a bag of chips or w/e into my room.
But now, years later, I don't get munchies anymore. I still spend almost all my time in front of the computer, but I smoke every hour or so. I've gone from ~300lbs down to 245, not really doing much exercise either.
Now I have somewhat of the opposite effect. I almost never get hungry unless it's like 5pm and I haven't eaten anything all day. These days, I'll eat in order to get rid of nausea from having an empty stomach more than I'll eat because I'm hungry.
The only time I get munchies anymore is when I smoke significantly more than my typical amount. Like the other day I went from smoking my usual small bowl every hour or so to taking like 10 hash-oil covered bong loads in 30 mins with my friends. I had the munchies pretty good after that, though even in that case just getting a small snack like a piece of cheese is usually enough.

Dude I aunt trying to scare you or anything but I started having problems with not having an appetite and losing weight even though I wasnâ??t exercising, come to find out these or some of the symptoms of the onset of diabetes. With you being over weight, XSP if the main weight is around your stomach there is a very good chance (even if it doesnâ??t run in your family) that you may have type 2 diabetes. The part about you feeling sick to your stomach when empty is also a symptom I experience regularly. Donâ??t freak out though because with diet and exercise you may be able to reverse it. I am on oral medication right now but my doctor is confident that once I lose all the extra weight I should be able to get off the meds.Quote:

ey man gj on the weight loss:thumbsup:, although I thought I might warn you...not eating is a good way to fuck up your metabolism as your body will adapt and eventually what little you eat will become your maintenance. Meaning you will stop losing weight, and will gain weight whenever you start to eat more (as your metabolism will be shot). I Keep an industrial supply of tinned Mushy peas around, its mostly undigestable, so few calories - although prepare for mega constipation if you dont drink enough.

A pomegranate will keep me occupied FOREVER stoned! Not only do the really good ones taste like Hi-C fruit punch, but there's literally hundreds of those little tasty guys under the skin! I just sit there with some headphones on and pluck out the little red things and eat them one by one. I have to admire each one before I eat it, too. They're so pretty. Pick up some pomegranates, not to mention they're chock-full of antioxidants.
