50 Clones in Rockwool - Soil Grow
		Well, here they are.
 50 clipped, 50 rooted.

They look a little defficient in N. We'll work on that soon.

Will be SOG with this batch to compare against ScRog which was done last time.

Temps are 74. RH is 65%. 18/6 for the next 2 weeks. Under Sunblaster Flouros.

 Moving to under 2 x 400HPS in 2 weeks right to 12/12.

I see yellow. How old are they from clippings?

I would trim off the yellow leaves and trim the leaves that are part yellow. Your cuttings were feeding on themselves when they didn't have roots, hence the yellow leaves. But now you want to promote new growth, not support old, so a little trimming will lead to healthier, more robust plants.

		Trimming today.
 Thanks.

I thought that the yellowing was the plant sucking up the N to make roots. Wow. Even what you search and read you really can't trust....
They will veg here for two weeks before flowering.

 How's the ScrOg Pharma?

Opie, you thought right - and that is what I thought I said. :D The cuttings essentially use stored nutrients to live while they are developing roots. But now you have roots, so you don't need those old yellow leaves.

The ScROG is so-so. I started with six plants and had to pull two because there wasn't enough room. What's left seems to be growing pretty well, all things considered. Tomorrow is the end of week four. I have lots and lots of buds. If they fatten up I'll have a pretty decent harvest.

50 Clones in Rockwool - Soil Grow
		Here are some recent pics.
They clones seem to be doing well and have gained vertical growth.
New growth is appearing and browning seems to have minimized.

Humidity levels are still a concern as when lights are out it reaches a max of 90% RH. Lights on the minimum RH is 54%. I am picking up a little fan for them today.

If all grows at the same rate as the moms, these clones should reach a height of 6-8 inches after approx 2 weeks at which point we will flower.

The moms have been put into flower (pic attached) as they were getting too large for their home and since we are away in a few months, might as well get something from them. Do they look really stretched? The distance between nodes is like 1" plus....

Anyway, thats just the update for now.

50 Clones in Rockwool - Soil Grow
Clones are in 4" pots that will be transplanted after 2 weeks of veg into 8" round by 10" high pots. Sometimes I use buckets from the dollar store and drill some draininge in the bottom.

I am using parkwood soil .9-.9-.9 or something like that with 1/5 perlite and 1/5 (3:1:1) vermiculite and botanicare organic nutes when it is time. I water with molasses from day one of flower 1 Tbsp/gal.

Height of area is only 4" and 4w 8 long. i can fit 50 8" posts in a 32 sq/ft area and if I can nab 1 oz of each I am done for the year.

50 Clones in Rockwool - Soil Grow
They grew an inch since last night.
I put one into the flower room with the moms as an experiment. the lights are way too high though which will more than likely cause it to stretch.

the browning seems to have stopped and new growth all looks good and healthy.

Temps for the clones is 71 with RH of 62%

Watered lightly last night around the rockwool cube. I read that if the cube is always moist, stem rot could set in and that is not what we want.

I have this tempation to give them 1/8 nutes next watering. (botanicare 3-1.5-4)......must.....resist.....might..burn plants......

You enhancing with SuperThrive? I wont grow in dirt without it. :)

If not, get some and you will get that extra kick you are looking for without fear of burning.

Blink - I start my clones on 1/4 nutes just a couple days after I transplant them. The clones are a lot tougher than seedlings. You don't have to wait so long to start them on nutes.

 Tonight they feed.

50 Clones in Rockwool - Soil Grow
Blink - If I were you I would now cut off all the rest of the dead and dying leaves left over from cloning. There's no need for the plant to support that growth anymore - the energy is better spent on new growth. When I transplant the first time (from cloner to medium), I cut every bit of brown and yellow off of every leaf - actually trim the leaves themselves. That usually stops the yellowing except in bigger fan leaves. It also encourages more rapid new growth. As the old growth dies off, trim or cut off as it yellows.

I transplant using B1 and a drop of Superthrive then let the cups get kinda dry for 1-3 days, then either B1 or 1/4 nutes for the second watering, then, unless the plants just look like they need more babying, 1/4 nutes for a couple waterings then 1/2 nutes for a couple waterings then full veg nutes.

Where do I get Superthrive? Can I get it in Canada? Home depot, nurseries, or hydro store?

They got 1/8 strength feeding and seem to be doing well this morning.
I will trim the brown off the leaves today and will post some pics tonight.

They are going into flower on Wed next week and I have a pot question....

Will a 6" pot last the 7 weeks flower cycle without becoming rootbound? Keep in mind there is very little veg time. I think they will but I need the reassurance as i don't want to have to transplant to 8" 4 weeks in. Plus I won't have enough room if I move to 8" or larger.

Anyway, i appreciate the comments and support of the group. Thanks.

Lowe's and Home dePot carry Superthrive. You use Superthrive by the drop, so the tiny bottle will last you a long time.

50 Clones in Rockwool - Soil Grow
		Here they are.
8 days growth. browning seems to have stopped and most browning has been trimmed off. Canopy is pretty consistent. Only 2 of the 50 have died.

I will keep the best 4 of the bunch to form new moms.
 Temps 74F Humidity 62%

5 more days and they go into flower.
Do you think a 6" pot would suffice for the 7 week flower?

 Any opinions welcome.

50 Clones in Rockwool - Soil Grow
Transplanted to 6" nursery pots today.
In a standard indoor potting soil with 3:1:1 perlite and vermiculite.
One time 20-20-20 at 1/8 dose with 1 tbsp/gal molasses. Botincare from now on.
49 of them under 400HPS about 18" above the canopy. I am wonder ing if a batwing deflector would siut me better as opposed to the box I have now.
 new leaf growth is healthy
 77F and 54% RH

They are so small it's hard to imagine ath they will yeild anything at all.

Pics in a week or so.

It's an additive based a bunch on the B1 concept and you cannot do without SuperThrive. Well that's an exaggeration, but I think it does a whole lot to help induce nice big bunches of healthy roots, and healthy roots ain't too shabby for promoting healthy growth above ground. The guy that invented it seems like a kook, but the stuff is wonderful. It has like 100 substances in it or something. Supposedly used by the U.S. government and a bunch of other big shots. It creates this weird-looking growth on the edge of your bottle cap, and as everybody knows, that is by far the most important thing in weed farming.

1 drop per gallon for clones and other youngsters. 2 drops for young adults and 4 or 5 for adults. It will fry young ones literally to a crisp if you use too much. Buy the small size unless you have a huge operation going on.

Not for use during blooming. You want your plant concentrating on bud and resin production, not root development.

Watering tonight, temps are at 77 stable and RH at 51%.

There are a couple of runts. They were all crown and nearly dead until we trimmed the brow off them. they were really only a stem and they cam back nicely.

I am having some issues though. I don't know if it is bleaching from the light or a def of some kind. I will post pics in the plant problems section. PH is fine, nutes are at 1/8 strength. Wierd.

The growth is incredible. They are well over 12 inches now and starting to flower nicely. They may need a dose of N. We will see.

Temps are stable at 75F and humidity is 48%

well here are some recent pics.
Seem to be doing well. Temps are steady when lights on at 74F, humidity fluctuates from 34% to 90% especially when lights off.
Next time I will pay more atention to my soil, I seem to be watering every 3 days...too much perlite.
Not much nutes in the water, only one dose of Botanicare Bloom at half strength.

Draingage is a bitch to deal with. next crop I will put somethign under the pots like pie plates to catch the excess runoff. Little gnats have started because of standing water and I HATE THEM. I gave a little dose of Neem oil 2 weeks ago and that seems to have helped.

This is 6 weeks from rooted clone. 2 week veg and I have a total of 7 weeks of flower cycle....so 3 weeks to go still.

 Comments, thoughts????

Thanks for all the tips this forum has given.

		Looking awsome Blink!!

Your log inspired me the other day when I was pruning my ladies. I was removing all the small branches at the bottoms of the plants I decided to attempt cloaning them. I ended up with 43 of them from the best plants.

I am just wondering how much space are your cloans in? And what size are your pots, 8" or 1 gallon?

-

50 Clones in Rockwool - Soil Grow
		I fit fifty in a 40" x 40" space.
 Nearly 100 in a 4' x 8' space.

Pots, I think are 1 gallon, 6" inch round anyway.

Next time I will try and better manage the stretch. Some of them REALLY stretched and I want tighter colas for next time.

Good fun though and highly educational...

The clones are looking great and are 3 weeks behind the moms.

Just thought I'd share a pic or two.

 cheers.
