Bowl Burning Manners!

I'm starting this thread cause I'm tired of certain people who burn all the green on the first hit.

Please tell me I'm not alone on this....
When I spark a bowl of nice good sh!t. I light just the corner of the bowl and smoke, then the next person works counter-clockwise burning only as much green as necessary.
But occasionally I smoke with someone devoid of bowl courtesy. They light up and scorch the entire bowl on just there hit, leaving everyone else to smoke on some ash.
Then there's the person who huffs and puffs 3-4 good hits of weed before actually taking the hit. Thinking that somehow they need to have the bowl burning at 700 degrees to get a good hit.

Does anyone else suffer from this from time to time?? or am I being overly anal. I see in my "minds eye" all the trichomes melting while the offender gets there one good hit. The rest of the bowl doesn't taste as good anymore. and I'm fairly certain I don't get as high after them(though it could be my frustration).

You are right on with this..it is just common weed smoking courtesy not to scorch the wholebowl

But the thing I am REALLY anal about is Blunts...

I fucking hate people who will hit it tell a story hit it whle telling a story then hit it again and again and then pass...

Half of its gone now and its only the 2nd person... WTF?!?

One of my good friends has like no stoner etiquette at all and like EVERYTIME he will just torch the entire bong bowl, just thinking about himself, nobody else:( Everytime I torch a bowl I make sure and leave a little fresh green so that my bud on the left will have the same enjoyment as I did:thumbsup:
Lol it's funny we always like joke around and tell him to just torch the side and he just ignores me....shits starting to bug me a little. It's like when its just us two, I'll load a bowl and after I hit it I say goodbye to the greens cause I know after my caveman friend gets
through with it, the whole shit will be black:mad:.

I have tweaked on people over this. Thats one of the reasons I started this thread. After telling someone "where to go" during a normally happy toke session, I wondered if I was being rude.
But if you were all my friends then you'd be happy I called them out. Maybe some of my friends are too.

why is the green hit so important? you know that usually on the other side of the nugs you packed into the bowl theres more green right? its not a two dimensional object......

It's not so much a matter of "green". Its really a matter of trichs. In one felt swoop the offender has vaporized every trichome in the bowl. That person enjoys a nicer hash-style high. While every one else has to burn more plant matter to get the same amount of high.

But thats not the way it works cause the offender is there for the second round.
It's like you eating half a banana and handing me the rotted other half. sure its still a banana, but its not as good as the fresh half. then you take a bite of my rotted half, now I'm getting shorted period.

you should just smoke your own bowl, pack a bowl cash it pass it

thats how i was taught, i thought it was just common ettiquete, the only other person i find around me that does this are girls, girls are terrible.
i dunno, id be pretty bent too, with girls i can let it slide sometimes as long as theyre not bitches, but with me a keep a small pack of friends, and if youre not in it, you usually dont smoke with me in the first place. so i guess i kind of screen the idiots out, but if i did have one, i think it would be wiser to educate them, because they just probably have never had it pointed out to them before

Personally if I'm smoking my weed, the previous rules do not apply. I give everyone a green bowl and you may lamp on the blunt or joint as long as you feel necessary. I tell stories with them in my hands and sometimes if I feel like it I'll smoke my pipe as if I were Sherlock and chief that shit. HOWEVER! if I am in fact smoking someone else's bud I will be as courteous as possible and will abide all silent smoking rules.:jointsmile:

With the bowl I own, your liable to get it going good if you torch it. I had one tightly packed bowl last about 30 hits off of one light the other day.

Lol people with no smoking manners bother me. I always either pack snaps for each person, or corner the bowl. I like for all the people to get greens.

Yeah I hate it when my buddies do that. I usually smoke alot with my 2 buddies and one of them will always take a hit, leaving the flame on there forever and I'm like wtf. And if there isn't that much green on it when it comes around to him, he'll suggest a flip. It does get kinda annoying but he's been doing it less now. We usually smoke with manners when we get in our little circle though and it's all good.

I use to hate smokin with my wife sometimes cause all she would do is talk when it was her turn to puff on the joint, and she would get pissed if I mentioned it lol, but now she's my X, and I'm sooo glad! lol

yea I hate when my fellow tokers do that. It just courteous to leave some fresh trichomes for the next person.

I hate when I roll a blunt with MY weed, and decided to spark it with some friends, and then someone ends up with the blunt and starts offering shotguns. It burns the fuck out of the blunt, and it's just extremely rude I think. If anyone's gonna give shotguns with my blunt it's gonna be me, unless I'm letting someone else give me a shotgun. I mean, I'm already smoking with you, do you have to waste my shit?

Word, I agree completely. It is a very annoying thing. The next hit just tastes like resin, and that alone is a buzz kill.

It's possible that it just doesn't bother your friends. I never have a problem with people scorching weed in my bowls because if it's my weed and my bowl, I always hit it first anyway. So I'm probably the one scorching all the weed and getting the good hit :pimp:

I agree but it doesn't bother me really because I do my bongs in 1 hit, then will pack another for the next person. If we are using acrylic bongs outside then yea, you just corner it.
Although if someone is scorching your bowl, tell them. Inless they are doing it on purpose (what kind of dick would do that? lol) then they don't know. Tell em.

yeah, if i'm not hitting a bong, i try to leave as much green as possible. but hey, if i rip it and theres no green on top left, tough luck... :stoned:

I'm very glad to hear so many share the same manners. I was once that person too probably. But I can still remember the day crystal clear, My dad passed me the bowl and said: "Hey try to leave some green for the next person". At the time I felt a little under attack, But as time has gone I really thank him for teaching me my manners.

And to rapidfire187, We call those people bums. They want to come in your house and hold your weed hostage, Bullsh!t. Those people will end up not smoking with me anymore.

when it's someone else's, I do the most I can to be courteous, I don't do anything without their ok first. when it's mine, there are no rules. it's a plant that can potentially save the world, I feel inferior to make rules about its usage haha. when i have some we all get high and we don't complain about how its done, we just have fun.

It's nice to get greens, but if you don't own it you can't fret about it. what i find more annoying is passing a cashed bowl around without any warning of the nasty ass ash you're about to get in your mouth.

2. Ask where to ash. Do not just ash on a table or a floor. I hate it when people do that and then say 'dude its a metal table' or 'man, you mop the floor anyways.' When in doubt, use an empty pop can.
3. Don't complain without reason. If a bong hit was harsh, have yourself a good cough. If you suck some shake in through a blunt, happens to us all. If you are upset with quality, you better shut up or top it.
4. Don't steal. Lighters, sacks, loose change, anything. Ask before you help yourself to the fridge, we all get munchies.
5. Respect others and their property.
6. If you load it, you have the right to a green hit. Unless you are matching someone in bowls. If they give you green, you owe them.
7. Be hospitable.
8. Teach, don't taunt. If someone commits a mistake, help them learn not to do it again.
9. Don't be greedy. Puff Puff Pass, light from the edges in, don't double hit.
10. Your house + your weed= your music, Your house + their weed= mutual decision, shared house + your weed = your music

12. If you have inferior weed to what's being smoked, then pack more than what others are packing and put it in it's own bowl. Don't throw schwagg in a bowl of KB, b/c it ruins the taste of the KB.
13. If you don't have any bud, offer something like money or whatever. It's just courtesy.
14. When you're holding the blunt telling a story, people aren't paying attention to your story, they are staring at you waiting for the blunt.
15. Fix any and all runs if they occur at any time when you're holding the blunt/joint.
16. If you happen to break someone's piece, be prepared to have to pay for a new one of equal value.

smoking blunts would solve this problem entirely.

I don't like to mix tobacco and weed. Blunts are ok but I prefer something that affects the taste less. Hence my love for glass bowls.

Blunts are made to last lonqer. Unlike a joint.. you have to hit it twice and pass. Blunts are made to toke 4 times and pass it. If people are tellinq storiez why smokinq the blunt, let them know. Dont wait until the damn weed is completely qone and you're left nothinq but a roach that you probably cant even hold without settinq ur finqers on fire. I let everybodii know.. yep right on dude, if i pack a pipe of my headies and other ppl are smoking on it, i tell ppl straight up 'corner it', dont burn all my greenz bro! lol

when smoking a pipe, corner it as much as possible, but i think bongs are fair game, just pack a bowl for each person, so everyone gets one good green hit. but its hard to corner a bong and get a decent hit. also share the muchies, offer a trade for what their eating, because its all good when your stoned.

theres this one kid i stopped smoking with because he would hit the pipe 2-3 times then pass and it would be my weed. and he would only smoke if i matched him. he takes all the greatness out of marijuana. so fuck him.

thats exactly why i only smoke bowls to the face and when im with people its strictly blunts.
