Just a first timer with a tiny grow for my own medical needs.
I'm 14 days in, do they look like they're heading in the right direction?
Closest to the camera is Sour Diesel, further away it's MK-Ultra.
Any feedback, comments, thoughts or questions are welcome.
They look very healthy. What are you using for lights?

IMO, you should have did a SOG. You would have finished with a MUCH higher yield.
In the last picture, you see all that darkness near the bottom, that's no good. When you use the SOG method you create an even canopy and the light is utilized much more efficiently by the plant.

Killerweed420: For the lights I am using 1 100 watt CFL (500w equivalent, roughly 6700 usable lumens) that's the one in the middle. Then at each corner I have a 100w equivalent (1650 lumens). So all in all not a whole lot, about 200 watts of CFL for a total of maybe 12000 lumens. My space is roughly 1.5 x 2 feet. I hope I'm not too badly underpowered.
EXP13: Maybe you're right, I read about LST so that's what I did, and still doing to try to even out the canopy more. Not as easy as it looks. What about SOG is it that guarantees you the even canopy? and how many plants would you put in a small space like this?
I agree with EXP13, but that is why you asked for our opinion, first time grow is always a learning grow. You also could have done TSA to increase your yeild.
Very nice job, but try SOG next time and compare the differance.

I did some math for your lumins, you are ok with what you have for 3 sq. ft., more would help with your yeild you may consider putting some t5 lights in the corners.
Personally I think you have enough light for your space. More is always better. But don't get too excited because temperatures will flare with each bulb you add to your cabinet. I think you simply need to optimize your light usage. In small spaces such as yours the best way to do it is via SOG (Sea of Green or Screen of Green, whatever.) setup.Quote:

Chances are you can almost double or even tripple the yield you get from the plant you're currently growing by applying a SOG method on your next attempt...
PS- On another note, one of your plants pictured above is HIGHLY Sativa dominant. Sativa dominant plants are not reccommended for SOG setups because they don't have the short bushy genetics that the more Indica dominant plants do. Sativa dominant plants tend to grow tall as hell and flower in a traditional "christmas tree" like pattern...
Rest assured though, it's still possible and it will still produce better results than just letting it grow but it will be difficult to tame a Sativa dominant plant because it will keep growing like hell when you tie it down...:jointsmile:
SOG = Sea of Green (many plants with little sidegrowth)
ScROG = Screen of Green (evening budsites by weaving/attaching through some type of screen)
You were right to LST them with your little bit of light - you'll do fine. They look good for only two weeks into flowering. Have fun and good luck with the back pain!
edit: There is so much beginner information on this forum I was (hypothetically) able to complete my first grow without ever posting a word. To know if you're on the right track, read through the grow logs to compare yours to others at a similar age.

I have done some reading in the past on SOG/SCROG, will definitely try that my next grow.
Right now I am battling a growing humidity problem. Got a mini dehumidifier (called a NewAir ADS-300, easy to find on google) coming in the mail. I hope it will make a difference but I may have to turn down my exhaust fan or I expect I will simply be replacing the drier air constantly with new moist air. This worries me a bit but it will only be during dark cycle when it's cooler and more moist in there so maybe the need for fresh air is not as critical compared to the light cycle when they are actually growing... at least that's what I'm hoping. Any thoughts on this are welcome.

I have grown sog, scrog and LST. LST for "me" is by far the best way to grow. Its a fair amount of work in tieing, but in the end it is worth it. With 5 gal pots, 6 week veg, I can get on ave 5-8 oz's dried per plant. Sog is also a lot of work in the sense that you have a bunch of pots that you have to water alot, turn, etc. You can pack then in and get great harvests. The great thing with sog is that you get more crops per year if you have a good mom. Scrog for me was a hassle. Once the screen is up, your plant's stay where it is (for the most part).
Your plants look great! Stick with one style, unless you get bored, and dial it in.
You're the third or fourth person this week to post a similar picture. The general consensus seems to be that you are looking at physical damage to he leaf. Nothing to worry about.Quote:

Also, been thinking about changing out the CFL's with a 150w HPS. Any thoughts on how much that would improve my yield? or would it? More growth for slightly less electricity?
Many people claim 2-4 ounces for both ~200w cfl and 150w hps so is it worth the upgrade? Do you think this grow would look a lot different if I had been using an HPS to flower?
Just trying to make a cost/benefit decision....
