Last few weeks tricks for increasing yield
I am in week five of flower in soil, temps 81 lights on 73 lights off, using a 400 watt hps for a 4x4 grow room, I have switched to general hydroponics Kool Bloom 0-10-10 and am adding molasses 1/gal. They are tall plants about 5' in 5 gal pots humidity is good and plants are not stressed and I was wondering if there was any other tricks I can do to increase my bud size and total yield in the next few weeks.
Thanks for any and all help if it wasn't for this site I know my first grow would be a different story.

Good Lord, a 5' plant is already going to produce some pretty monster buds without much extra help! But, because you're so far in to your flowering cycle, I wouldn't recommend adding any new bloom fertilizers to the schedule. Especially because you're using decent sized pots, and won't need to water as frequently.
Though, after another week or two, when you stop using fertilizers and begin the final flushing periods, you can keep using molasses. I know it sounds weird, but I actually like to add a carbonated beverage to the water in my last few weeks. In my opinion, it adds a sweeter taste to the dried product, and doesn't seem to make any noticeable decrease in the size of the final yield.

Yeah they shot to 5' when I had to veg them longer wait for my hps, it's my first grow so I'm wondering how much the bud size will increase in size in the last weeks of flowering it seems that they must grow exponentially towards the end because now they are big puff of white hairs but not too much substance under them. It's my first grow so I'm not sure

All of those sites where you\'re finding the white hairs (stigmas) are eventually going to swell with resin...assuming they\'ve not been pollenated by any males. You should still use your bloom fertilizer a little while longer, which will help to make the buds more robust. Get yourself a photographers loupe to help decide when the best time to harvest will be. You can find tons of information relating to best harvest times by searching these forums. Just make sure that for the last two weeks or so before harvest you flush your soil with ample amounts of water. Otherwise, you will likely end up with buds that have a harsh chemical taste to them after dried and cured. Good luck, and enjoy the fruits of your labor!

I thought the hairs were piastals and stigmata were on the male plant. Maybe not. Whatever. Hairs.

You know what, the males have stamens, not stigmata, unless they're like religious or something. I'm going to shut up now, I'm tired.

Your already doing it bro.
I saw a huge dif. in density , smell using Kool Bloom . Extra cabos from molases won't hurt any either .

LOL! Yup, the stigma is the actual little white hairs, which are protruding from the pistils (the entire flowering bud). They are actually what receive the pollen when pollenating for seeds. I can be a stickler when it comes to referencing specifics sometimes! You\'re right though, simplification is best...I\'ll now refer to them as white hairs, and red hairs! Oh, and you\'re also right about \'stigmata\' being religious. Supposedly, it\'s a phenomena where a person mysteriously develops the wounds of Christ...but many times is actually just the person harming themselves in order to get attention. Kinda sad.

Watch out using the product "gravity" from humbolt county. Dont use it too much or your buds will be so dense they suk and you can bounce them off the ground. Too much and youll ruin your crop, trust me. If you use it Id use half what the bottle says.
Your buds are only half done so wait 3-4 weeks or so and then youll see how much they will be swollen up. Dont just cut them cause they stink I know lots that learn the hard way and smoke crap, and cutt off all the lower branches that dont have much growth early so the other branches can take up all their energy.

I'm new to growing, 1st time as said, and when you see them they look like they are perfectly designed for exactly that because of the way they come out and are sticky. You can really see why it is so important to get the males out.
I think water Ph and type of water supply, and a healthy strong strain, and cannabis.com are the key factors by far because I have had virtually a problem free first grow of multiple plants that have been stressed several times, light issues, and ended up with 5 out of 8 better then 50/50, and big beautiful healthy females. And I do not have a green thumb just all the help from stinkyattic and others on here, great seed, in ph'ed well water so there is little I have to do but ask for help when I need it and give help when I can help.
Sorry if this doesn't make sense or is rambling I am REALLY HIGH:bigsmoke:
