why do you get high?

During a smoke session today, me and some buddies got wondering, why do we smoke like we do. Ive been smoking since the 7th grade, and it has made a impact on my life. All for the good of course, minus the thousands of dollars its made me spend. Its made me more social, more intellectual, more fun, I just feel like a better person. If I dont have some of my daily medicine, i just dont feel I run as smooth through out the day. Its the oil for my creaky gears.

So I guess the reason I get high, is it just makes the day so much better. So much easier to relax, and expand the mind.

it relieves my disease pain {spine issues}
also gives me a better outlook on this cruel world :smokin:

I dont drink liquor, alcohol, or smoke tobacco, so "my high" is a minor addiction, one can only, "get so high" on weed, depending on the ":pimp: THC" all in all, its a mild drug:thumbsup:

it makes everything chill, relaxed, you arent as caught up in the fast lives most of us live in. one needs to take some time to not let time pass us by so fast.

I smoke because it helps many of my minor problems. Back pain, insomnia, depression (often) and others. But I always do get to wondering if it is making me more stupid? I only smoke no more than 5 times a week though.

Because cannabis increases my happiness and enjoyment of life.

I enjoy it.

I know what you mean, i started rading more often lol. as far as why i get high cuz it helps me relax after all the old people get done complaining about non sense at my job, plus watchin movies while high is such a cool experience.

Because I'm heavily addicted, and if I stop smoking for more than a few hours, I become cold and clammy, then I throwup and am constantly sick until I get my mary jane.

I smoke to get away from all the stress and work I have to do during the week. I usually only smoke on the weekends, so it's like my get away. I can be happy and social, while feeling amazing.

Because I can.

I get high because I'm a very tense and stressed out person. And MJ helps me relax...slow down....sniff the flowers and actually enjoy life instead of hating it.

I get high to enjoy the simpler things in life all that much more and often before I go to bed to help me sleep.

Well, considering Marihuana is one of the most, if not the most, dangerous and addictive drugs in the world... I get high because I have to. I am 100% dependent on it. I have to smoke 4 grams per hour, else I have either insane diarrhea or insane constipation. I also hallucinate about the world ending, and how I'm gonna go to hell. I become delusional, etc. This all happens if I don't use it. In fact, exactly 32.63% of the time that I have insane diarrhea, it is bloody. I steal for Marihuana like a crackhead would steal for crack, or a heroin addict would steal or even kill for heroin! I might even rape somebody!

For real though, I just smoke for recreation.

Remember in half baked when they were showing the different kinds of smokers? Well, i'm the enhancement smoker, it just makes things that much better.

i smoke because i enjoy it, it helps with my anxiety, insomnia, helps me to be less irritable, and mellows me out. i love smoking and getting baked with my boyfriend after we get home from work, it's always lots of fun.

cause not only does it help my medical condition but it lets my mind temporarily escape my problems to see things in a more enlightened view.

i think for most habitual smokers (applies most to daily use) there is too complex a psychological addiction to explain, with a single reason, why they smoke weed. the true reasons are usually not the reasons on the surface.

it took me a long time -- and maybe a few harder trips -- to realize that some of my earlier stages in potsmoke stemmed from escaping reality, a tendency toward 'obsessing' over hobbies, etc.

i won't go on because i found the true reasons i smoke/smoked the way i do/did are definitely self-revealing, and this is no livejournal.

It numbs my pain and soreness. It makes me feel nice and good inside.

I have thought about the reasons I get high quite a bit lately. I can't pin it down to one main reason so here is a list of small reasons why I love to get high.

- When I am going to sleep at night lying in my bed after a few bowls I feel so amazingly relaxed and I go to sleep feeling like everything in the world is perfect.

- When I am with my friends we drive out to the bush and go for a long blazed walk. It is great walking through the bush with my best friends talking shit and then when we get to the cliffs we stand on the end and the wind blows in our faces and it is one of the most amazing feelings I have ever had.

- It relaxes me when I play Counter-Strike (an online game) and makes the game a lot more enjoyable especially when I have loud bassy music playing. The game becomes a reflex and I play much much better than if I was trying to over concentrate.

- I just love the feeling of being so relaxed and high. I also love getting the munchies at 2am and going to burger king or mc donalds and buying a whole lot of food to go eat at a park.

Sometimes when I am high I can look at someone and picture them when they're 50 or see an old person and picture them young. Or I'll deconstruct the way one of my friends deals with a certain situation and think about everything my friend has ever experienced and how it has effected that one decision.
Im not sure if that made sense but can anyone possibly relate to having these high thoughts?

I'm usually a person that is all over the place, thinking about everything. I'm more focused. Both short term and long term. I'm pro at everything, even more so than when sober because I simply pay more attention to the immediate world around me.

I see the world as beauty, shapes and colors interconnected in ways that I would've never seen otherwise. The sunset above all description. The stars shine with ten times the luminosity.

Every single face I see is a happy one. Every second is joyous. Every day is another step towards complete contentment. Everyone is a friend.

My grades have improved. My inner confidence is the highest it's ever been in a long time, after many bouts with depression. I have a clearer focus in life. I'm no longer strung up on the little stresses in life.

Why smoke weed? To get high.

I smoke because the first time was such a joyous occasion and haven't had a bad one since. except when the bud sucked.

Yeah I play guitar. And funnilly enough I started learning around the same time I started smoking weed more than once a week... I only started at the begginging of last summer, but all I did that summer was smoke weed, listen to the beatles and play the guitar... in that order.

To stay relaxed and mellow. I can smoke just a small bowl, only get a little heady, but be relaxed for hours. My ex ALWAYS made sure I had plenty around to keep me sane. lol
