SOMEONE is having computer problems and asked me to post these... It's his new DIY DWC project in progress.
I'm going to get someone a new camera.......one with a focus. :wtf:
His birthday is ohhhhh sometime fairly soon... I already told him I'm getting him a digi. Even a crappy one is better than THAT! Fuckin A hey, that webcam SUCKS.
Its always good to see some more DIY DWC. I've been learning more and more about them today, and I can't wait to get started on my own.
I did find one particular link today that had the idea of using a cooler instead of a bucket. This seems like a great idea to me. A cooler is insulated, which should keep the nutrient solution cool under the lamp, and help to keep the light out even better. It also has a hinged lid which would enable easier access to the solution without completely removing the top.
Anyways, thanks for posting the pics, even if they are "hazy!" :)
Is he taking e-mail these days? You said something about computer probs. I have an old Kodak easy share that needs a home.....it IS better than that thing....not by too much but it DOES focus.....FOR YOU so that would certainly solve THAT problem. . :wtf:
LOL!...I feel like some political figure with all the 'gifts' I've already got from you guys...(girls:D)...Truly amazing and refreshing to see folks go outta their way to help out others! It's the way I've done things ALL MY LIFE, but remains far too scarce in the hearts of many.
What a wonderful inspiration, and example of karma!
I appreciate ANY and ALL help I've gotten around here, but you two in particular have exemplary character that should be recognized by the masses and cherished by those around you;)
Hey Coma!:
What's good buddy? Thanks for the compliments, hope these pix help explain how simple, easy and cheap hydro grows can be. I will say that I spent way more than I had intended as this was originally just an idea to use scrap stuff I had. Here, I'll lay it out I suppose:
1. 5 gallon bucket -($?)
2. Micro-jet multi-use pump with adjustable flow. (Purchased at Petquarters) -$19.99
3. "8 Netpot lid -$5
4. 20-60 gln. aquarium air pump. -$10
5. 2 Airstones. $3.00
6. '25 x 7.62mm standard airline tubing. -$2.49
7. '3 of 3/8 clear tubing. (hardware store) -$2.25
...and a grand total of $42.75........FUCK!
I'm depressed now, time to burn a lil somethin'!...I'll come back to this:D
Yeah, still waitin' on those masses Chron. :D i dug up the software....but afraid I deleted e-mail the one with your address....
Is this it....??-----------------------
JUST KIDDING :S2:
(ps....did delete......sorry.....:(......resend please....:))
...so i'm not sure why I was thinking you were joking, but I do have a whole ton of Kodak easyshare software, just not the cam itself, and certainly no extra pennies to spend on one.
As long as I, or the site can deal with these recent issues accordingly, I guess I have no choice now but to stick around here at Canncom:cool:
The other site I've recently visited, really doesnt compare,...at all.:wtf:
So does anyone have any input/output, put out...Oh, excuse me...my bad (aka. Gutterbrain)
...on the bucket, I mean! Stinky DID point out that it would be a lot prettier with a plant in it, but I've yet to hear any opinions/advice. The closest I've ever come to a hydro grow was a couple drowned plants, so this was only built on guesswork. I'll obviously get some feedback when my friend fires it up, bitch and all, but I dont wanna give him something that worthless due to a small mistake!...Anyone?
Yeah, resend address.....Chron I don't mean to be mean but I seriously cannot quite tell WHAT you've got going on there with the blurriness so am afraid to comment on it. I think the camera is more for ME than for you so that I can at least tell what you are doing....

his webcam probably has a little dial on the front (around the lens) that he can turn to focus. im almost sure it does unless he found it on the bottom of a cracker jack box.
Chron, paint the outside of the bucket a dark color or wrap it with duct tape. You want the bucket to be opaque.
PC :smokin:
AquaFarm ...
Spray paint that bucket black or put loads of ducktape on it because one layer of ducktape wont stop the light. You can also use aluminum tape aslo known as duct tape and it goes for around 12 bucks for the really good stuff. I say just get a 97c can of Flat black spray paint and spray that thing down. Other than that looks like you got yourself a DIY bubble bucket and i dont see why anything would go wrong with it. As long as you have enough oxygen they should grow.
Thanks for all the feedback guys and gals!
I had planned on a simple layer of ductape or this textured marble spraypaint, but had not thought to use both so thanks for savin' me potential meltdown!
Anyone who would like to run with this thread, is more than welcome. I'm sure there's a few of us with more than a little to learn so hop aboard and let's get all smart and stuff!:D
...and oh yeah, I'm DEFINATELY gonna keep 2 "6 airstones minimum, at all times...Almost like an insurance policy for a buck and a half:thumbsup:
Chron, there ain't nuthin' wrong with your camera focus, them folks just didn't smoke enough ... about the third bowl, the photos popped right into perfect focus ...
Hahaha, yuuuuup... I see it crystal clear now.
Hahaha, yuuuuup... I see it crystal clear now, lol. I picked up few used goods today for free that will help me out with my project. 10 gallon cooler and 4x6" air stones. Hooorah. :)
You're absolutely right! :thumbsup:It is, in fact a stoner cam. The company designed this product so you can only see it when/if you're pie eyed...I use it for security measures....:wtf:Quote:
